When Carter was president my father who worked in heavy construction couldn't find a job because there were none. Then Reagan got elected and my father worked steady all the way till he retired thanks to Reagan saving the country.
For a guy in his early 70s, Reagan was looking good and had a fantastic head of hair!.... Mondale was completely trounced in the election, with Reagan taking 49 states and almost a clean sweep. Mondale, not helped by his link to Jimmy Carter as VP, no doubt a kind and decent guy like Carter but he was never going to beat Reagan in 84, no one would have.

My all-time favorite part of this debate was at 32:45-33:30. What Ronald Reagan said at 33:16-33:30 was an absolute classic & in my opinion, what he said at 33:45-34:00 was just as awesome.
