      It's really annoying that Netflix removed it and replaced it with its awful version all from the American perspective. They always for get the world part of the war and just focuse on one side (almost always the Americans) and it bugs the he'll out of me like you think to your self the soviets lost more in a month than the US lost the whole war and some how there the main focus of every pice of ww2 media

    Maybe another constituting factor to France's quick defeat was the fact that they weren't ready for an army that was comparable to the imperial German army of 1915 or 16. They already had substantial numbers in all fields, while France and Britain were prepared for static warfare and a gradual increase of manpower and equipment. Just a thought.

    • @Archduke_Astatos
      @Archduke_Astatos 2 года назад

      Of course the second world war German army was only better in manpower and technology, if they had the same numbers and tech as the imperial German army they'd be worse, relying on horses and travelling on foot much more.

    Of about 2000 aircraft used against Poland Germany lost 258 to all causes, and of additional 263 damaged only 40% made it back to the front-line units after repairs. An estimated 230 aircraft were destroyed in action, primarily by Polish fighters and anti-aircraft artillery. About 400 aircrew were killed or missing, and an additional 120 wounded. Of 217 German tanks destroyed and 457 seriously damaged in the campaign, a significant proportion can be attributed to the Bomber Brigade and P.23s of the Army reconnaissance squadrons.

    The Polish Calvary never attacked Tanks with Lances. They carried Anti-Tank Rifles. They were very effective in taking out German Tanks. The myth was started by Goebbels to ridicule Poland. The Wołyńska Cavalry Brigade equipped with the Bofors 37 mm antitank gun beat the German Panzer Divisions in one of the first battles of the invasion; the Battle of Mokra.The Polish guns were actively used during the German and Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939. They managed to wipe out a Division's worth of German Tanks which was 309.
    Poland was attacked by both Germany & Russia & they managed to fight for 27 days before surrendering. On May 10, 1940 Germany attacked West. They entered France on the 12th &, 5 days later the French told Churchill the Battle is lost. France managed to make one counterattack but they retreated to Dunkirk on the 25th. By June 9th nearly all the French divisions had surrendered. So the Poles fought Russia & Germany as long as the combined forces of the French, English, Dutch, and Belgium armies fought the German army only.

    September 1, 1939 vs February 24, 2022. Germany invades Poland vs Russia invades Ukraine. History hates repeating, but loves rhyming. Instructive to watch these magnificent WW2 videos as we all slip into the rhyme of WW3.

    on thing to note. France and britain told poland not to mobilize so as not to provoke the Germans. Which resulted in them mobilizing only a few days before the attack and them being super unprepared. Not that they would have won but they wouldnt have lost quite as disasterously.

There was a german higher up i forget the name but he said if france fully attacked while they were all in poland betting they wouldnt attack they probably would have lost right there

    48:14 :- It is a common misconception that Hitler used the Swastika symbol. But Hitler himself never used the word "Swastika" to refer to his symbol. He called it “Hooked Cross”(“Haken Kreuz”).
    Hitler first saw the Hooked Cross symbol in a Christian monastery (Lambach Abbey) which he attended as a boy. He later adopted it as an emblem for his party. There is no evidence that he ever heard of the word “Swastika”. Hooked Cross had been a sacred symbol of Christianity since its inception in ancient days and it is very natural to find Hooked Cross symbol in old churches and chapels. Although the Wikipedia and other "so called sources" blatantly ignores this fact and calls the hooked cross as swastika may be because they have their agenda of their own or they're no longer as reliable as they used to be. One might also think that a person raised in a Christian environment, in a Christian country would keep a HINDU symbol as the symbol to represent it's so called idealistic country. The videos are good but as a responsible youtuber you should have done your research well, you might have unknowingly hurt an entire community's sentiments with the statements. Please correct yourself the next time.

    I used to watch this as a kid. Even back then I was always fascinated with a hypothetical. What would the world be like if Hitler had the foresight to not betray Stalin? Would Europe still be fascist?
    It amazes me sometimes when I think how easily history could have turned out differently.

    • @JosephPastori

      It could’ve gone that way honestly. While Mussolini and Romel were struggling with the British in North Africa there was a point where Stalin offered to join the axis and help. By that point though hitler was dead set on invading the USSR and had prepared a good proportion of the forces needed for the operation.
