From my research and looking at a few actual cars this revision of the E class has lots of room for a cabriolet, better than the old E class, 6 series, 4 series etc and a world away from the 911/Jaguar XK.
Just how hard were you driving the E400 to only average 19 mpg? My GLE 450 coupe is averaging 21 mpg over the last two years and it sounds awesome when the engine soars toward the red line.
I had one, especially because of the room given to the rear passengers compared to other 4 seats convertibles on the market... And also because it is a great car at all !
...what if I suggest The Country Club in the Wynn LV. Just remember, dinner only on our first date! (hey, im tryin to get a feel for this new liberal gender neutrality thing, etc).
I have this car and I love mine. Have the top down, raise all windows with one control, enjoy a nice quite ride with my dogs on a Saturday morning is priceless. The backseat is not for tall person and the seat back is bit too straight for long ride. I placed a fluffy cushion for my occasional backseat passengers. So far, nobody complains. I had a SL before. In compassion, e seats higher like a coupe and the backseat does make a difference. The only thing I prefer SL is the hardtop. Softtop is noisy on freeway and I don’t take it through commercial car wash machine. Luckily I live in Southern California weather is warm, no worry about snow. What I don’t like is the infotainment system, hard to navigate and you have to use a lighting cable to connect iPhone to activate Apple Play. The wireless phone charger is a bit small, I have to remove thin phone cover to fit my max.
Complaining about 20 miles per gallon? Sounds like a dream when I’ve been getting about 11 or 12 miles per gallon in my old jeep and now in my V6 Audi Q5. And yes, I always stay in sport mode ha ha.
You are huge dude. No convertible back seat will be spacious enough except maybe a Rolls Royce or a Bentley. Compared to most other convertibles you have a big space in the back.,
Yeah a loaded E Class Cabrio for 88000 or a barebones SL for 89000. The decision is not that hard. Especially if you want to occasionally transport people under 6 foot on the back.
The biggest CON is that mercedes puts 590watt Burmeister the same as in the c class. When the regular e class cars all have option for 1450 watt kick A** Burmeister system.
Great video .... too bad it’s a disposable car for people with disposable income, can see the livability with its quirks becoming increasingly aggravating over time & that end of lease date not coming soon enough.
They have a rotary dial you can depress & then put a touchpad directly above it.... there’s car people, tech people & car people that like tech. To me, personally, I’d rather have the tech separate rather than fully intergraded .... climate control, radio controls supplemented by tech not secondary controls to climate/ radio
The next reviewer that complains about the rear seat space in a cabriolet has to name one with acres of space.

it's called a "wind screen" you manually put it there for most convertibles. it's supposed to decrease wind buffeting noise

Older models didn’t require a steep learning curve to operate basic functions
