Thing is Matt COULD thrown a football. He showed everyone that on his first game. He was back-up QB for Dillon. Sure they thought they had Street. Matt didn’t get any college scholarships but he was still a very solid HS Football QB. Texas HS football is probably one of the most serious HS athletics programs in the country and Matt was back-up QB for the team everyone had pegged for an easy State Championship that year. In almost any other HS in many other states he likely would have been QB1
All I know is the scene when Taylor tells his wife "I think I just told that boy to get our daughter in the back seat of a car" was one of the all time best scenes in t.v. history..... I've seldom laughed that hard in my life...
What I like is while Matt Saracen is so very green and a novice he gets what the the game is about and what the coach is trying to teach him. The beauty is he does the best he can and that is plenty good. And is better than good enough. The best thing he is a natural leader without knowing it and so coach is enjoying teaching him and bringing out the very best. It is almost as though becomes his defacto father . But the coach cares about all his players but when the they cross him.look out!
Dude what’s the song at 7:45? Just realized looking back at this song and it’s so amazing. Perfect nostalgia song and fits this whole show. This is what scores and shows should be all about.
I started rewatching this tonight for the first time in probably a few years and you can really see how much better the material they gave the game commentators from season 1 to 5 is. They sounded good but what they were saying was so repetitive and really unrealistic at times. I counted aft b least 11 things They needlessly said "Nobody expected this by Westerby... Westerby is allot strongger than anyone... Blah blah blah." No one knew Westerby could walk on water appearently. 😒 Like a non sports person wrote it just ripping off any sports movie ever made. The "kicker" here in the first episode was when Street got hurt they said "You know thee AMAZING thing, We have the No. 1 football player in America carted on a stretcher and this game has to go on. " Yes it's absolutely the most "AMAZING". thing. Not to mention Its unrealistic because at every level your back up QB is not someone who has never picked up a football before and for a team that is supposed to be twice as good as any team in highschool. Or that they act like it will be all his fault if they lose when they needed an onside kick to get the ball back for a chance to win. Definetly allot of Hollywood script writing. Of course this after u have seen it a time or 6 i guess so u pick up on things u wouldn't if it was your first.
One of the greatest shows ever. They made you truly care about the characters. Everyone could use a coach taylor in their life.
Well said, well said
The Matt Saracen transformation is one of the best in television history. From a kid who didn’t know how to throw a football, to a state winning QB.
Makes feel Iike a proud dad 😄

@@jasonsinatra9457crazy how not even a lower rated d1 school didn’t offer him
Saracen and Vince - their journeys were the heart of the show
And Riggins
"Well that's a relief he knows his right from his left."
LMFAOO 🤣
Grandma Saracen - the only person that never left Matt. It had to be so hard for Matt to leave for Chicago.
“Saracen! Quarterbacks a captain.” The pilot episode is still one of my favorite episodes of the show.
I would love to see their relationship now as father/son-in-law
Or the kid as a coach now

I bet. it would be sooooo comical lol
“I think I told that kid to get our daughter in the back seat of a car” 😅😭😂
I’ve literally cried in several Matt scenes because I very much relate to him in so many ways it’s very emotional to see
Love the relationship between these two, and Season 1 had their best dynamic
Favorite characters of the show! Keep em coming.
One of my favorite duos on the show!!
Get her in the back of the seat of your car lol
Miss this show. I have to rewatch all six seasons every few years.
There are six seasons???.... why do i only find 5???😔😔
@@deloreeperiam1950 I meant five. My bad.

'My bad' Tim Riggins season 4 with Becks.
Clear eyes, Full heart, Can’t lose😰
Loved Matt’s grandma watching her in the stands and her watching the guy who no one believed in take them
I love Matt❤
Just finished binge watching whole series 🥺
nice im rewatching now. End of S3 the "big change"
Coach Taylor: “I’m gonna say it”
Voodoo: “say it..”
Coach Taylor: “I don’t care that you got hit by Katrina!”
Classic vine 😂
@@Strobobel I’m glad one person appreciated it 😂
THE GREATEST SHOW EVER!
So good

“I think I told that kid to get our daughter in the back seat of his car” 😂😂😂😂
Always my QB1
I’m freakin high right now and porters playing with my emotions. We need to find it
I never understood why Dillon kept not believing in Matt throughout the show
Facts. Saracen is the truth!
Because it helped push the plot of the show
Because he wasnt flashy as all of the quarterbacks the boosters kept trying to get.
Because he was an undersized kid. They were used to Jason, who was all but set to go to Notre Dame.
@FridayNightLights RUclips Channel please add more Matt Saracen content from seasons 2-4. Thank you :)
yes yes yes
"do your best"
Saracen was screwed over by Voodoo and also JD, but neither one was a better quarterback than Saracen.
He did not close his eyes.
