That song is about his grandfather’s death. The video is a nod to Greyfriers Bobby. Here i n Scotland there a dog many years ago who never left the cemetery when his owner died. Greyfriers Bobby, Edinburgh.
He was also in Doctor Who where he played the 1st Doctor in a team up with the 12th Doctor who is played by Peter Capaldi who is Lewis Capaldi's cousin
Be this about an animal or a human. The sense of heartbreak everyone can relate to in one way or another. This is a beautiful song and the cinematography is also top notch! ❤
I was watching Magnum P.I. a few years ago and toward the end of the episode a song come on with a voice that couldn't be ignored. Within the hour I had about a dozen of Capaldi's songs. I'm an old guy who mostly listens to hard rock or metal but his music just sounds good to me.
*Okay now hold up! The two of you need to start a movie reaction channel and the whole Harry Potter series needs to be first on the list! I waited years to watch it thinking it wasn't really my thing. Then I watched the 1st one since nothing was on TV and was hooked. The next day I bought all the rest and binge-watched for 2 days. Okay, now back to the reaction... just had to get that out first lol*
Alexis don’t ever apologize for or lose your honesty and compassion. I’m the same way. I’m so thankful for being able to ‘feel.’ And, don’t EVER let the dog die! I’ll really lose it! 💔🐶
Thank you Alexis for sharing this with me, this music is for my sons I stayed well back when the music was so vivid 70’s and 80’s, that’s music from the past keeps me alive, again thank you and keep it up ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
This is killing me its so sweet. Technically my bday was yesterday June 30 and I'm trying to fall asleep waiting for my hubby to come home for a visit as he works out of state now. I've been handling work, family and dogs who are very old. I'm crying
Hey guys. You guys are so refreshing. You're teaching the youngster about music. No disrespect to the the kid. You're like father and daughter. I love your dynamic:))))
Oh My God, Guys!!!!! You're killing me!!!!! I'm at work on my lunch break, and everyone wants to know if I'm OK!!! My grandfathers were gone before I was old enough to know them, but I have had many pets through my life. This such a reminder of what a great gift they are. I've buried many over the years, and it's so hard to say goodbye to them. They were so much a part of my family's life. If I could, I would rescue every homeless pet from the shelter. I made a promise to my wife years ago that if we ever win the lottery or a rich uncle leaves us a bunch of money, we're buying some land, building a giant barn, rescuing every pet at our local kill shelter, "fixing" all of them, using the money to buy their food, electrifying a fence at the far ends of the property to hopefully protect them from the coyotes and other vermin, and grow old away from the hustle and bustle with the only creatures on Earth who seem to love us unconditionally. How sappy is that, eh?!
aww loved this reaction. so funny you mentioned game of thrones AND harry potter but didn't know he's in both. the video is a modern update of the story of greyfriars bobby, a wee dog in edinburgh scotland who kept returning to his masters grave. there's even a wee statue to the dog that you just have to go see and rub his wee nose if you're ever in Edinburgh .
One to watch would be Queen-live in montreal 1981-love of my life, such an intense performance, just like freddy did. Amazing performance. Also, Queen live aid was legendary.
Wow! Not my type of music but wow. Alexis made me cry. Burch try and show her In Loving Memory or Watch Over You from AlterBridge(The acoustic version with Myles Kennedy only from Billboard). She will love the vocals. Also Words Darker Than Their Wings live at The Royal Albert Hall. 🤘🏼
Lewis Capaldi is Scottish and I feel like I should spread the real event of the the video, It is about a real story about a real dog in the 19th century called Grey Friars Bobby from Edinburgh (That’s where I am from too). He died a a while back but the story is the same, his owner died and Bobby kept returning to his grave everyday and everybody in the town helped look after him until he eventually passed away himself. There is a statue of him in Edinburgh.
I live about 10 miles from Lewis (Don't know him!) and think that his music is excellent. Quite rightly, he is taking time-out to get himself together. The music video is based on the true story of Greyfriers Bobby, Edinburgh, who slept on his masters grave. (Google it) Incidentally, the old postman (David Bradley) was indeed Walder Frey in Game of Thrones, but he was also Hogwarts school Janitor Argus Filch.
Fun fact: The actor in the music video David Bradley was also in the TV show Doctor Who playing a version of the 1st Doctor, in an past music video Lewis Capaldi also had another Doctor and distant relaite the 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi
I was thinking the same thing when I first saw this… The song and the video are two completely different stories but the melody fits the video and the gut punch of sadness is twice as impactful….
OMG ! I never saw this music video and i was take by emotion for the lyrics but the video also. Powerful. Thanks for make me discover and your reaction.
That video is brutal. I’ve seen this a couple times and I cried lol I wasn’t going to watch your reaction because of it. I can’t watch this video anymore.
Was literally about to say 'If you you've never watched game of thrones you would at least know him as filch' and then two seconds later 'never seen harry potter'... aha
Interesting that Alexis hadn't seen GoT OR Harry Potter, because the actor was in both franchises. David Bradley plays Walder Frey in GoT, and Argus Filch at Hogwarts in Harry Potter.
So, David Bradley, the older actor, was in GoT, and his story line was based around the true story of The Black Dinner, at Edinburgh Castle. This music video is based around the story of Greyfriars Bobby, of Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh, by the castle. Bradley also appeared in some of the Harry Potter films as Argus Filch, where the scenery took a lot of cues from the architecture of the Old Town, around Edinburgh Castle. And of course JK Rowling wrote the books and lives, in Edinburgh. In a small castle. And bringing it back to Lewis, he grew up in Whitburn, just outside Edinburgh. So, moral of the story, the centre of this universe, is Edinburgh! True story.
Lewis Capaldi flying the flag high and representing Scotland. 🏴🏴🏴 Alexis I had the same reaction to the video as you did, I think if you didn’t you wouldn’t be human.
Lewis is in a world allhis own if you ask me.......he stepped on the scene and just blew me away........if you really wanna hear lewis in all his glory check out his version of "When The Party's Over"
The older actor is David Bradley, and he has been in the 4 biggest series in recent history: The Harry Potter movies, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who and the MCU (he was the caretaker of the Tesseract in the first Captain America movie). I don't think any other actor can make that claim.
In my opinion...you need to put "Tear Jerker" warning splash screen up before the video for those of us who may or not be watching this at work. I loved the song, and the video is amazing, so thank you.
@flickeringboxofficial in games of thrones, he was kinda of a dirty old man who played both sides of those in power . In Harry Potter, he played an angry caretaker that was grumpy but really was misunderstood, but in a weird way, a good guy with bad traits
My wife just showed me that yesterday. I watched a couple of episodes. The scenes with him in that were just too much for me. My mom was suffering from dementia before she passed last year and that was way to soon for me. Love the show other than that though.
Where you both talk so nicely about "Harry Potter": David Bradley (the older guy in the video) not only plays in "Game of Thrones", but also in "Harry Potter".
The story line of the video i think is based on the scottish story of greyfreirs bobby about the wee dog and its owner in Edinburgh and with lewis capaldi being Scottish that wouldnt put it past
Odd that you said all that about Harry Potter because most people know the actor from the video from those films as Filch with his pet cat, the grumpy caretaker at Hogwarts. But yes, he was also in GoT.
Seriously you both are missing a great adventure by skipping out on Harry Potter, kind of sad for you both on this point. My Grandparents, Mom, Wife, Sons and now my Granddaughters as well as myself not only watched the movies, but read/are reading-being read the books and love them. Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Alien & Predator films, and the multiple Star Trek shows are cultural touchstones that should be seen at least once. IMO
The love between a man and his dog is one of the most pure and unconditional relationships there is.
That song is about his grandfather’s death. The video is a nod to Greyfriers Bobby. Here i n Scotland there a dog many years ago who never left the cemetery when his owner died. Greyfriers Bobby, Edinburgh.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greyfriars_Bobby
yep
this reminds me of the futurama episode where he finds his dog
First time listening to that song and i ended up bawling my eyes out, even more than Alexis 😭
The power of music...
Lewis Capaldi makes me cry everytime.
Im a 49 year old man and it has me snivelling like a two year old every time i see it, its the dog that does it 😢
How funny that you said " I recognize him!" and 30 seconds later said never saw Harry Potter. The actor is in HP! 😂
Was he really? That's funny. He will always be Walter Frey to me. Glad Arya did her thing. The north remembers
He was also in Doctor Who where he played the 1st Doctor in a team up with the 12th Doctor who is played by Peter Capaldi who is Lewis Capaldi's cousin
He was also in Game of Thrones, sooooo 🤷🏻♂️
Haha 😂 I didn't even realise before I saw the comments@@flickeringboxofficial
He’s also in game of thrones as Walter Frey
Be this about an animal or a human. The sense of heartbreak everyone can relate to in one way or another. This is a beautiful song and the cinematography is also top notch! ❤
I could have done without that but, at least my eyes are clean now.
I know right ... sometimes I think she does it on purpose 🤣

Wr are actually going to start doing movies and TV as well. That was the original idea for the channel, anything video...even commercials 😀
@@flickeringboxofficial Fun fact and coincidence, this man in the music video is also actor in the Harry Potter movies!
Alexis don’t ever apologize for or lose your honesty and compassion. I’m the same way. I’m so thankful for being able to ‘feel.’ And, don’t EVER let the dog die! I’ll really lose it! 💔🐶
Lewis capaldi is the guy that helps you through though times
Never heard of him but I like him.

Lewis is just amazing, more please 😂 great reaction guys 😊
I actually liked him. Told Alexis to bring me another...we'll see.
@@flickeringboxofficial React to "Before you go, Forget me, Heavenly kind of state of mind, Someone you Loved" if you want ofc

Love Lewis .❤❤❤❤
Very new to him but like this first song. As a fan of his, do you have a recommendation for our next song?

I'd like to remind that that actor was also in Ricky Gervais’ show "Afterlife” playing his old father suffering from dementia. Truly a good actor.
I was thinking the same thing when I first saw this… The song and the video are two completely different stories but the melody fits the video and the gut punch of sadness is twice as impactful….
Needless to say he matched the video perfectly with the song.
Conmovedor hasta las lágrimas este video😢
nice wedding song, Firehouse: When I Look Into Your Eyes
OMG ! I never saw this music video and i was take by emotion for the lyrics but the video also. Powerful. Thanks for make me discover and your reaction.
Love Lewis. His album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent is incredible!
The actor from Game of Thrones Peter Capaldi is a 2nd cousin to Lewis Capaldi.
If you have ever owned a dog you understand
That video is brutal. I’ve seen this a couple times and I cried lol I wasn’t going to watch your reaction because of it. I can’t watch this video anymore.
Alexis,I'm with you,not a Potter fan,Thrones,or Star Wars.yet my nephew did the CGI effects for the Mandelorian.
OMG you are STUNNING!
Alexis you are beautiful scars and all. This is a great song😢 I held my dog a little tighter watching this.😂
Was literally about to say 'If you you've never watched game of thrones you would at least know him as filch' and then two seconds later 'never seen harry potter'... aha
Don’t can be interpreted either as a relationship or losing a loved one. All of Lewis songs are like that and it’s pretty cool

His speaking voice vs his singing voice is crazy.
you two are the best , keep it up
Postman in uk always used to deliver on bikes!
He was also in Harry potter as well as game of thrones, he played professor Felch the grumpy care taker of the school
greyfriar bobby is an amazing and sad story. Its about a dog that spends 14 years guarding the grave of it's beloved owner
Lewis Capaldi flying the flag high and representing Scotland. 🏴🏴🏴 Alexis I had the same reaction to the video as you did, I think if you didn’t you wouldn’t be human.

Lewis is Scottish. Wonderful human being he is.
That was David Bradley...he played Walder Frey of "The Red Wedding" fame.
The red wedding was so nuts. Glad Arya made him eat Walder 😋

Alexis,i di know why??😢 ❤❤❤❤i cant stop thinking about you
The guy in the video is in game of thrones, harry potter and Hot Fuzz to name a few
I could be wrong but he looks like a Doctor Who from older series. If so he is the second Doctor Who following Peter Capaldi.
Where you both talk so nicely about "Harry Potter": David Bradley (the older guy in the video) not only plays in "Game of Thrones", but also in "Harry Potter".
Thanks guys, not great wish it was a breakup.😪 but good reaction
That almost brought me to tears... I guess I need to find some help
Funnily enough the guy in this video was in game of thrones and also Harry Potter
Funny she said she hasn’t seen Harry Potter either when he’s in that too 😂
Its the end that gets u....
Someone you loved is a wedding song? That’s kind of sad if you think about it.
Just an fyi, this dog breed is a Carin terrier. Same breed as Toto in the Wizard of Oz!!
Here ,s another Scottish singer called Tom Walker ( Leave A Light On ) with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers
The story line of the video i think is based on the scottish story of greyfreirs bobby about the wee dog and its owner in Edinburgh and with lewis capaldi being Scottish that wouldnt put it past

Maybe it's time for some movie reactions.
He wrote the song for his Gran that passed away.
GOT as well.
You guys should listen to 'Guiding Light' by Foy Vance.....you'll love it.
That man was also on Harry Potter!!!!
He was the groundskeeper..and Walter Frey on got...

Yup, Walter Frey.
That postman is the caretaker from harry potter.
hes in harry potter aswel as games of thrones
I wont recommend Chris Stapleton - Maggie Song then haha. Great reaction as always.
The actor also plays the janitor in Harry Potter
I'm pretty sure he also is the old grouchy man in Harry Potter as well lmao
See if you had lost a dog during this wonderful video and song being online.... Molly is her name. 15 years of love. ❤😢
