Cree Summer was PERFECT as Penny - she played the role with True Genius for 64 episodes and its hard to imagine the show without her. Interestingly enough, this was her very first role in TV or movies, and she's had a long and varied film career from that EPIC show to this very day!!
This show taught me that, in the event I get something in my eye, to cause my eye to tear up instead of rubbing it. I put that to practice just now and it actually worked.
Hey, awesome! :D I like that tip myself. ;) I've heard of another, similar tip intended to get your eye to tear up: rub the OTHER eye, instead of the one that's got something in it. It will cause both eyes to tear up eventually. I've found that this method usually works pretty well too.
Cree was 100% better than Holly as Penny...the ironic thing is one of Cree's best friends is Tara Strong who voices Penny in the Netflix revival series
It's interesting how each safety tip often ties into the episode. It's a long list, but I'll do it in a few comments... Pilot: The episode was about the winter olympics, so it makes sense to talk about snow sport safety. 01: Since the episode was about "Monster Lake," they discuss lake safety. 02: Due to the farm setting, they talk about farm safety. 03: First, Gadget talks about how circus performers have practiced so hard on their stunts, due to the circus setting, but then Penny brings up basic bicycle safety due to Gadget fooling on a unicycle. 04: Since there was airplane travel involved with this episode, Gadget brings up airplane passenger safety. 05: The episode involved Gadget a a "health spa," so of course they talk about exercising and getting into shape. 06: They were on a boat that had a swimming pool, so Gadget would bring up swimming is good for you. 07: Gadget talks about campfire safety due to the fire scene in the haunted castle's basement. 08: The episode involved a racetrack, so they talk about automobile safety (duh.) 09: Not much relation to the episode, except for maybe how Gadget avoided a nasty burn from that laser... 10: They discuss electrical safety due to the electrical shock scenes utilized in the episode. 11: They talk about basic camping/vacation safety due to how they were far off in Peru, and enjoying themselves there after the case. 12: Gadget mentions he should've checked the rope he had that mishap on. 13: They talk about boat safety due to the chase on the swan boats in the episode. 14: They talk about keeping your dog on a leash due to the episode taking place in New York City. 15: It was probably due to Gadget's klutziness in the episode. 16: They talked about roller skate safety due to Gadget using his Gadget Skates in the episode. 17: They talk about not leaving something out in the open due to how Gadget left his Gadget Van parked in the middle of the street when he left it to chase after that woman he thought was Presto Change-O. 18: They talk about sun safety due to being in Egypt. 19: They talk about exercising and getting in shape (again) due to Gadget doing so at the start of the episode. 20: They talk about train safety due to the episode mostly taking place on a train (again, duh.) 21: They talk about boat safety (again) due to all the boat travel in the episode.
22: Since modern technology is the focus of the episode, they talk about machine safety. 23: The episode involved plants and gardening, so they talk about poison ivy. 24: Since Brain was injured from that "stagecoach" chase and crash and covered it up by saying he was chasing the neighbor's cat, Gadget brings up safety about crossing the street. 25: As Gadget learned about nutrition at the space center, he talks about breakfast being the most important meal of the day. 26: Since they're still in Africa as they were in the episode, they talk about exploring safety, as they did quite a bit of it on the safari. 27: They talk about medicine due to Brain catching a cold in the episode (I think the only reason Brain caught a cold at the end was to give them an idea for a safety tip.) 28: They talk about protection when using spray cans to to Inspector Gadget having used his respirator mask in the episode. 29: They talk about seatbelts due to the airplane travel scene in the episode, particularly when the plane flew through the turbulence. 30: Again, due to the desert setting, they bring up a tip relating to it, involving that you should drink lots of water-based beverages when spending a lot of time in the sun. 31: Once again, since they were in Africa again, they talk about exploring safety. 32: Due to all the chocolate in the Netherlands, they talk about tooth care. 33: This one seems to have virtually nothing to do with the episode; they just talk about exercising again, though at the end they do mention how it's good to run on solid ground. 34: They bring up not stuffing yourself since they are still in Hong Kong and go out to lunch. 35: They talk about gas leaks due to M.A.D. Agent Dick pretending to be checking for gas leaks at the cottage Gadget hides out at in the episode. 36: They talk about handling raw foods due to them eating out at an Italian pizza parlor while still in Rome. 37: They bring up what to do if you cut yourself due to Gadget cutting himself while trying to open the lobster he brought home for dinner when saving the oceanographers. 38: They bring up preventing catching colds due to MAD's snow machine sneezing out the blizzards. 39: They talk about not eating old food, which persuades Gadget to believe that's why they kept throwing vegetables in Pianostan. 40: They talk about the skull-and-crossbones symbol also meaning poison, in addition to being a pirate symbol (due to the pirate theme of the episode.) 41: Gadget brings up having your vehicle in top shape as something he learned at the academy. 42: They talk about vaccinations due to them being prominent in the episode. 43: They bring up how you should not fly kites near power lines due to them flying a kite at the beginning of the episode.
44: Penny and Brain play gypsies at home due to the episode's gypsy plot, which leads into talking about cleaning up after playing with toys. 45: They talk about helping elderly people out, due to all the elderly people living on that mountain. 46: Gadget accidentally falls down a set of Mayan pyramid stairs (where they were in the episode), leading into talking about never leaving anything on the stairs. 47: Since the episode involved a dairy farm, they talk about how important dairy products are. 48: Due to the episode involving Greek myths and legends and the whole "trojan horse" thing, they use it as an example to talk about being careful around strangers. 49: They bring up how you shouldn't drive with unlocked doors or anything sticking without the window, due to the crazy driving seen in this episode. 50: Since Mr. Squint couldn't see well without glasses, they bring up how you should take special care of your eyes. 51: They talk about how to be prepared for accidents, due to the episode involving an air force base. 52: As the episode is about a drought, they talk about how you shouldn't waste water. 53: They talk about hitchhiking, since Gadget did just that in the episode. 54: They talk about how you shouldn't take chances at any dangerous crossings due to the drawbridge that is featured in the episode. 55: They bring up wearing proper footwear when hiking or climbing due to Gadget's feet being sore from his mission in Tibet. 56: They talk about how being careful around swings and slides due to not wearing a safety harness like Gadget is when installing solar panels (due to solar energy being an important part of the episode.) 57: They talk about proper home maintenance, due to the First penny Mansion being in heavy disrepair in the episode. 58: They bring up that you shouldn't pet strange dogs or animals, presumably due to Madame's dogs seen in the episode, especially when they pounce on Gadget and try to maul him. 59: Since the episode involved trees, they talk about how we should care for trees and forests and possibly plant a tree. 60: They bring up how we should watch nature from a safe distance, due to all the birds seen in the episode. 61: They talk about what to do if you get sand or any similar particles in your eye, most likely due to the sandy desert setting utilized int he episode. 62: Since the episode involved Gadget saving a celebrity dog, they talk about caring for dogs. 63: They talk about choking on food, due to Gadget eating a big sub sandwich quickly while they were still on vacation in Nice. 64: They talk about how you be careful when wearing a costume or mask, due to Gadget putting together a costume to go on the quiz show again.
66: Since the episode involved a magician MAD Agent, they talk about how magician's tricks are best left to the professionals. 67: They bring up how you should license your pet, due to them trying to find the owners of all the pets that the Wambinis kidnapped. 68: They talk about wearing safety equipment when playing sports as they play Floobyball, as featured in the episode. 69: Gadget brings up how you shouldn't ride a bike when wearing loose clothing due to Corporal Capeman's bike mishaps during his debut. 70: They talk about gardening, even though it had nothing to do with the episode. 71: They talk about how you shouldn't overdo it when exercising, due to how Gadget and Capeman work out at MAD's phony hospital. 72: They bring up basic first aid due to Gadget's finger injury earlier in the episode. 73: They discuss feeding pets, probably because of how Capeman was treating Brain like crap in the episode. 74: They talk about feeding pets again, this time on how they shouldn't eat human sweets, most likely due to how the Grappler loved to eat sweets in the episode. 75: It begins at breakfastwith Gadget telling Penny that he slept well, to relate to the episode's bad dream machine plot, and then goes into the message that you shouldn't stick a metal object in a toaster. 76: They discuss how you should be prepared when riding a bike at night, as the episode mostly took place at night and Penny arrived at the costume party on her bike. 77: They talk about using a telephone in an emergency, due to how telephones are prominent in the episode. 78: They show applying ice to help painful swelling, due to Null and Void hurting Gadget's nose in the episode. 79: They talk about wearing seatbelts (again), as they travel around in the modified Gadget Van on the moon as they did in the episode. 80: They talk about gas leaks (again), most likely due to the Crazy Gas MAD uses in the episode. 81: They talk about caring for pets (again), most likely since Gadget showed the wooly mammoths where and how to get food while in the prehistoric times. 82: Penny tries out a Roman recipe from when they went to ancient Rome, and gets in a message on using an apron and potholders when cooking hot stuff. 83: They bring up how you shouldn't plug too many appliances into one extension cord, due to the running gag with Gadget trying to find an outlet while in 19th century London. 84: They talk about kids not playing around construction sites, due to the episode's climax taking place in one. 85: They show how you shouldn't stand on top of a ladder, even though it had nothing to do with the episode. 86: They show how you should assist the elderly (again), most likely due to the elderly gangsters Dr. Claw hired.
Hey, nice! I was considering doing a video like that, but putting the first and second season tips in separate montages. I still learned a lot from this show. This, "G.I. Joe" and "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" probably had the best safety tips. The first season's here were also tied into the episode in a rather interesting way in most cases (the second season, not as much.)
Separate videos for the first and second seasons could work too. I guess it was the temptation of doing a video which actually contained a clip from every single Inspector Gadget episode that got to me. ;) (I think that may be an internet first, by the way.)
There is a reason for that....There were 2 other men who voiced Gadget before Don Adams was finally chosen (one of them being heard here-Gary Owens) and with regards to the moustache; DIC had basically been sent a cease and desist letter by MGM threatening legal action if they did not remove the moustache because Gadget looked too much like Inspector Clouseau (ala Pink Panther)
I learned that on PAX TV airings from 1998/99, these segments would always play at the end of every episode of the Super Mario Bros. cartoons, of all shows.
9:05 lol in this one it's like they kept teasing a PSA coming but it never came 43:37 wow haven't seen this in like 30 years but I still remember it to this day and do it when I get sand or eye lashes in my eye! 45:00 WTF! what perv drew Penny in a blue bikini?! hahaha
Same here with the sand in the eye PSA, haven't seen it in thirty-some years and I remembered most of it pretty clearly (although I forgot about "that's better" and the "pour cold water over the eye" part, and I'd remembered the next line as "and if that doesn't work" instead of "didn't work"). I've tried the pulling-the-eyelid-down trick but it never seemed to work for me :/ I haven't watched the full video yet but the only other Gadget safety tip I remember is when he turns on the stove or oven and Penny asks if he smells gas and I think they open all the windows.
I think the reason for the exclusion of "Art Heist" on the Cinedigm DVD set was due to a scene where Gadget was flying with his Gadget copter near the World Trade Center - implying that such scene could serve as a bad reminder of the horrific events of 9/11/2001.
No, you don't understand. ;) The SAFETY TIP was edited out by mistake in the print of "Art Heist" used on Cinedigm's DVD set. The rest of the episode is there.
And when I say "not included in complete form" about Volcano Island, I'm again talking specifically about the safety tip. The safety tip scene in that episode's print has some digitally created glitches.
What he meant is that the "Art Heist" copy with the PSA edited by mistake was a newer copy because it is in better quality and has the Cookie Jar logo at the end. He also meant "Volcano Island" with digital audio glitches with the new copy, also with the Cookie Jar at the end, so these complete sources he added for the video were the Bohbot copies, both of these copies are not as high quality as the new ones and have the 2001 The Incredible World of DiC logo at the end (along with the 1976 LBS logo and the 90s Bohbot Entertainment logo after that).
@@inspectorgadgetarchives You're wrong. "Art Heist" and "Volcano Island" in my video are both sourced from the Australian DVD edition by Magna Pacific. That DVD edition used the Saban International PAL masters, which in turn were sourced from the original 1983 NTSC masters. They're not taken from any of the Bohbot prints.
@@inspectorgadgetarchives, yep, the logos at the end and the episode title superimposed over the opening scene are two telltale signs of a Bohbot print, along with the slight time compression (in many cases the pitch is unaffected, but some episodes like "Monster Lake," "Down on the Farm," "Gadget at the Circus," "The Boat," "The Haunted Castle," "King Wrong" and "Did You Myth Me?" have slightly higher-pitched audio).
18:00, but... I use my lasers indoors all the time. The only laser I would truly agree with this one on is that sanwu 7 watt blue striker that xm360 reviewed a while ago (or anything even more powerful than that really, unless it's inside some sort of CNC engraving enclosure). If your laser is extremely powerful just use something non-flammable as a beam stop, or better yet, build a beam trap. You can find a video about how to do that on brainiac 75's channel.
+Josh Milligan In the first (and best-written) season, many of the safety tips were directly connected to something Gadget had experienced during the episode, so I'd probably say yes. (This doesn't apply so much to the 21-episode second season, though.)
It's a great video! good job! I love the background music for the latest advice from the series as the chapter "Gadget and old lace" this music is great, it would be great to have it. It's a shame that not included in the soundtrack of Inspector Gadget, me has liked the video, I always liked the advice you gave, this was lacking in Tv: (
What about the music from Volcano Island, Sleeping Gas, A Bad Attitude and Gadget Meet the Clan where they play this nice tropical island music and I didn't see the upload of it or heard it with all the Inspector Gadget soundtracks the user Bumper Man uploaded them so have you been thinking about that too? I check all the soundtracks and then I was disappointed that the soundtrack of this island music isn't there without sound affects and I wonder why is it not uploaded. I didn't see any comments about it, not in those episodes on the youtube video comments where users watched Inspector Gadget where the main characters went to the island trip episodes that they never complain anything about it and I think they forgot it or didn't thought about it, only me and I never comment anything there for not seeing them said about this music and I was obsessed with this music 2 years ago so I made a collection of that music that I now know it appears only in 4 episodes of Inspector Gadget so 3 in season 1 and in season 2 is 1 only.
+Kawayoporu +Kawayoporu Yes, that is so. Only around 20-25 tracks of Inspector Gadget background music were released to LP and cassette back in the 80s... and these are the tracks which survive today. Saban's master tapes for their 80s cartoon scores are apparently lost, and with them, the rest of the Inspector Gadget score (probably several hours of music). I can't say the island track is one of my all-time favorites (though I like it), but I would like to see ALL of Shuki Levy's Inspector Gadget music released, so naturally it is included in that wish. :) I really hope the master tapes will be found one day...
So you saying back in the 80s they have all 25 tracks, but today we have only 20 was that 5 of them were missing? Do you know which soundtrack I meant, if you didn't remember which one then here is a clip I uploaded just now watch?v=gXOUTzumahs what I show you which are the episodes it all appeared in I have collected them all, so can you recall this nice beautiful soundtrack?
I have actually seen the show since it ran on CBS about seven years ago in 1992 (various "safety tips" on PAX Kids in 1999), Nickelodeon from 1987 to 1992 and again from 1996/1997 to 2000, The Family Channel (as part of FAM TV) from 1993 to 1995, in Syndication again in early 1993, Fox Family Channel (and later ABC Family) in 2001 and Starz Encore Family almost 8 year ago in 2016. It's aired on Nickelodeon for about 13 years (1987-92, 1996-2000) and on The Family Channel (later Fox Family and ABC Family) 9 years (1992-95, 2001). In my area (WCSC) in South Carolina, it would sometimes aired on Saturday afternoons on CBS during the brief comeback in the early '90's (1991-92), when they weren't airing Soul Train. I've seen all 86 episodes of the mustache years and the non-mustache years. They even added it to his face on the opening credits! Penny was mysteriously missing from the show and opening credits. One such episode was an Olympics themed episode, around the 84 Winter games I believe.
If that's actually true about "Old Man of the Mountain" and "The Great Divide", then it wouldn't be unlike the Bruce Lee films "The Big Boss" and "Fist of Fury". The English dubs for both films were supposed to be titled "The Chinese Connection" and "Fists of Fury" respectively, which made sense since both "The Big Boss" and "The French Connection" dealt with drug trafficking. But then something happened, and the titles for both films got mixed up.
They say this show predicted the future of technology. His gadgets are mostly voice activated and as we know voice recognition isn't all that good. Same with the autopilot on the Tesla which turned out to be just as bad as the one on his car, as seen in episode "Monster Lake". - Look for "Tesla autopilot fails" on youtube and you will see some of those cars spinning out of control exactly as his car did in that episode.
@@shanerulez79 How can anything get better than it was when it was built if it is used by only 1 user? You must have missed episode Gadget in Mini madness - in that episode not only does she use her book and watch in the house, but it is shown that she weaponized most of her toys.
Plus I meant to put this with the other comment, but i pressed the post button by mistake. Anyway,I think your theory on the pilot I right. Gadget sounds slightly differant from the normal episodes, don't u think?
What do you mean that my theory on the pilot is right? Are you referring to the theory circulating around the internet about Jesse White voicing Gadget in the pilot episode version seen at 00:42? In that case, you've misunderstood: I've come to belive that theory is wrong. Don Adams is definitely the actor voicing Gadget in the 00:42 clip seen here. If he sounds slightly different, it's probably because Adams had to record this pilot episode directly to the on-screen action - in other words, he had to mimick the on-screen lipsync, as the pilot episode had already been animated to another actor's voice before Adams was hired. That's probably why Adams sounds slightly "off" in his recording of the pilot compared to all the other episodes, where he could just concentrate on the acting instead of timing his voice to on-screen animation.
At least they aren't worse as that Mr. Magoo reboot. Also, my opinion about Gadget Boy has now changed. It's now just meh. The first season was... alright. At least the episodes did had some clever ideas. But when the show got a second season, it just became very lousy as the characters started to feel flanderized and the series started becoming more forumlaic in a bland way.
Indeed! do I have the French version of Inspector Gadget dvd Video IDP. I must say it is the best collection that they have taken from Inspector Gadget to date, and many episodes sounds great with excellent picture quality and sound, but I like more the original English dub! Did that dvd version is this quality of picture and sound? I have understood that DHX has been reissued on DVD, but I see it better than French IDP, the dvd version in france is great both in design throughout, with extracted images of original cels own! however the issue that has carried out a terrifying cover and drawings of Brain as belonging neither to the series! ohhh this is horrible! : (
You do realize she flinched in *anticipation* of the shot, right? ;) It a pretty common thing to do while waiting to get a needle in your arm, no matter how much or how little it ends up hurting.
I love how Gadget’s an idiot in the episode itself, yet, in these segments, he mostly knows what he’s talking about or doing! …….Read it again! I DID SAY “MOSTLY”!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It depends on what you're after. I've listed a number of the cons, but the set does have some pros as well... one of them being that it is, at this time, pretty much the only place to purchase season 2 on DVD, if you want to own those episodes. Plus, it includes most of the season 1 episodes (except for The Boat and Arabian Nights) in their correct running lenght/audio pitch. Still, those technical errors can get quite depressing on the affected episodes. All in all, up to you.
Ben Packham Actually, a large number of the safety tips I use in this video (though far from all) are sourced directly from the American Cinedigm DVD set. Do you own that set yourself? I do, and I'm wondering what makes you think there'd be that much of a quality difference. I'm sad to say the Cinedigm set is probably the most technically amateurish DVD edition I've ever owned. The set has a few things going for it - for the most part, slightly sharper image and less interlacing than my PAL DVD editions - but Cinedigm and its partner Flatiron Film Company did a terrible job on the technical side. For instance: many episodes on the Megaset had audio dropouts throughout (the audio suddenly disappears, then comes back), "Art Heist"'s safety tip was missing, "Volcano Island''s safety tip missed snippets of audio, "Gadget Goes West" had pixillated image, and a lot of episodes even had noticeable tracking problems/flickering at the bottom of the image. As a result, when making this video, I had to judge for each safety tip whether to use the American Cinedigm set or the Australian sets from Magna Pacific as my DVD source. (For the record, Shout! Factory's set was never an option, since almost all the episodes there were time-compressed.) My goal here was to present all the safety tips in good quality.
+ultramaximus How can you know that? The two Gadget actors we're hearing in this video are Gary Owens and Don Adams. Jesse White's version (likely the very first recording of the pilot episode) has to my knowledge never been released to the public. So we can't really know how good Jesse White's take on Gadget was.
+ultramaximus No, you've got it wrong - the "British" guy is Gary Owens. I specify Owens' name in the title of the video you're talking about, so not sure why you would think that was Jesse White.
+ultramaximus In truth, I made a mistake by calling Gary Owens' Gadget voice "British-accent" in that video. Gary Owens was not British, he was an American actor - and even though his voice sounds slightly British in some respects, it certainly isn't so, either. It's just a formal type of voice (albeit, done with humor) which sounds a lot like a radio announcer or something in that vein. The reason I called it a "British-accent" voice is that someone else had done a video featuring Gary Owens as Gadget shortly before that -- and that uploader referred to Gadget as a "mustachioed Brit". But as I said in the start of this comment: No, this voice is not British, and neither is the actor performing it.
There are 2 possibilities I can think of: they are either dead or too busy to take care of her. In kindergarten I had a friend, who did not live with her parents, just like Penny. Her parents were in college, in another town, and were very busy with their exams, so they sent her to live with her grandmother. Once they were done she moved in with her parents. If we take the newer series into account when she is 5 years older and still doesn't live with her parents, I would say they are dead.
I wish the cute funny cat appear with Gadget and Penny of that stupid Dr. Claw evil villain's pet and wished his name is Max instead of Mad so that in the screen maybe when it ends and then Max the cat winks to the views. I was dreaming if in season 2 if the cat will get caught by Penny and Gadget and keep as their new pet and rename him Max and never Mad anymore that after he has enough with Claw scaring him like that this poor kitty when he smacks on his desk when he's angry tempered and he was once a good kitty in one episode when he blasted his bad owner or exploded him and then he laughs at Dr. Claw, ahaha! Mrs. Phrases's cat Gadget said? Why didn't they show the cat of Mrs. Phrases that he thought Brain chased someone's cat Gadget knows and never showed the lady Gadget said it?
Cree Summer was PERFECT as Penny - she played the role with True Genius for 64 episodes and its hard to imagine the show without her. Interestingly enough, this was her very first role in TV or movies, and she's had a long and varied film career from that EPIC show to this very day!!
Yeah to some people she seemed to be the best
But you know what Holly wasn’t so bad neither
But no I figured besides Cree Mona was the other top 🔝
Her dad got her the role.
This show taught me that, in the event I get something in my eye, to cause my eye to tear up instead of rubbing it. I put that to practice just now and it actually worked.
Hey, awesome! :D I like that tip myself. ;)
I've heard of another, similar tip intended to get your eye to tear up: rub the OTHER eye, instead of the one that's got something in it. It will cause both eyes to tear up eventually. I've found that this method usually works pretty well too.
Mesterius1 I'll have to remember that. Thanks. :)
Mesterius1 Yep, one could learn a lot from these segments!
Despite Gadget's endless bumbling and incompetence... I suppose this makes up for it.
(24:10) As I've noted before, that's a rare example in the series where there's a thunderstorm that's NOT at Dr. Claw's castle!
Cree Summer had such a cute and adorable laugh to die for.
I agree. She's the polar opposite of Holly Berger's laugh in the second season.
Cree was 100% better than Holly as Penny...the ironic thing is one of Cree's best friends is Tara Strong who voices Penny in the Netflix revival series
Not sure I see how that's "ironic". :P But yeah, it's a fun coincidence.
I guess by irony I meant that they both ended up playing the same character but maybe it's coincidence... Exhaustion will do that
Yeah, I think coincidence is the word you're looking for. ;) (I can relate to exhaustion, though.)
08: The episode involved a racetrack, so they talk about automobile safety (duh.)
09: Not much relation to the episode, except for maybe how Gadget avoided a nasty burn from that laser...
20: They talk about train safety due to the episode mostly taking place on a train (again, duh.)
21: They talk about boat safety (again) due to all the boat travel in the episode.
27: They talk about medicine due to Brain catching a cold in the episode (I think the only reason Brain caught a cold at the end was to give them an idea for a safety tip.)
28: They talk about protection when using spray cans to to Inspector Gadget having used his respirator mask in the episode.
40: They talk about the skull-and-crossbones symbol also meaning poison, in addition to being a pirate symbol (due to the pirate theme of the episode.)
41: Gadget brings up having your vehicle in top shape as something he learned at the academy.
56: They talk about how being careful around swings and slides due to not wearing a safety harness like Gadget is when installing solar panels (due to solar energy being an important part of the episode.)
57: They talk about proper home maintenance, due to the First penny Mansion being in heavy disrepair in the episode.
Claw hired.

SO MUCH NOSTALGIA OF THIS:)
(14:53) "Crossing boundaries?" I thought they were usually referred to as "crossing gates," or "barriers" in Europe...
They always have safety tips at the end of Inspector Gadget.
Confidentially some of those episodes before Capeman came along seemed more fair
Wow, Garry Owens was not a good pick for Gadget. Obviously, Don Adams was better suited, and it ultimately worked out.
Marc Baker Don Adams was also Tennessee Tuxedo, Gary Owens was Roger Ramjet
Gary Owens created the catchphrase Wowsers.
@@RichardSturtevant Yes. 'Nick Knacks' brought this up in their episode on 'Inspector Gadget'.
Indeed. Plus they had to remove Gadget's mustache because MGM threatened to sue.
@@Launchpad05 I can tell Gary Owens did ad-lib quite a bit with the pilot, including coming up with "Wowsers!"
GO GO Gadget voice changing moustache!
I love Penny's giggle
Its adorable, that's why we all love it!
And now Penny and Brain enough of the Safety Tips and let's watch either Get Smart or Tennessee Tuxedo.
I learned that on PAX TV airings from 1998/99, these segments would always play at the end of every episode of the Super Mario Bros. cartoons, of all shows.
53:41 to 54:28 what is that soundtrack called
Unfortunately, I think this soundtrack remains unreleased, and it doesn't have a name...
im so glad dom adams took over
9:05 lol in this one it's like they kept teasing a PSA coming but it never came
43:37 wow haven't seen this in like 30 years but I still remember it to this day and do it when I get sand or eye lashes in my eye!
45:00 WTF! what perv drew Penny in a blue bikini?!
@@MysticalChicken That safety tip you mentioned with the gas is from "N.S.F. Gadget". It can be seen at 53:38.
Regarding the first one, the PSA was very brief, at 9:29.
I want Heathcliff's completely pet tips, like the Inspector Gadget's safe tips
I want all Heathcliff's pet tips,like Inspector Gadget's.
I think they got the characters mixed up at 30:40. Shouldn't Gadget be the one about to get electrocuted and Penny the one warning him to be careful?
Could be, but an eventual change in roles won't kill anyone. Uuuh, metaphorically speaking!
Well, despite being a child prodigy super genius, she is still her bionic uncle's niece, since she's child & he's the supposedly responsible adult.
What is the soundtrack on 54:22
18:00, but...
Tip #??: always build with brown bricks in minecrap
11:42 Reference to Get Smart
Okay, I'm all for cartoons teaching kids valuable lessons, but did these safety tips even mix in well into the episodes?
+Josh Milligan In the first (and best-written) season, many of the safety tips were directly connected to something Gadget had experienced during the episode, so I'd probably say yes. (This doesn't apply so much to the 21-episode second season, though.)
Mesterius1
Well that's good.
Mesterius1 plus episode 12 from season 1
What do you mean by "plus episode 12"?
Sorry! What I meant was that episode 12 of season 1 didn't have much of a lesson.
+Kawayoporu It's not uploaded because it was never released on any soundtrack edition.
Really, is that so?
Did you always want to hear this island music soundtrack too?
I really missed the eightie 80's
Penny looks so cute
Can you make all Heathcliff's all pet tips, please?
They should show this to today's kids and young adults who become parents.
18:00 🕕 gadget should have said “that has nothing to do with road safety penny”.
I use my lasers indoors all the time though.
10:55 oh yea right,at ALL TIMES!
In my country some Inspector Gadget's safe tips weren't shown

11:42 Sound familiar?
It was Get Smart. Maxwell Smart (Agent 86) clumsiness is probably how Don Adams was cast as Inspector gadget
Are gadget's gadget's trying to kill him? Several times he gets the wrong one for no apparent reason and it endangers him.
@@AndreiPopescu that is true but they should get better with time. Especially with only one user. (Can Penny use the gadgets in their house?)
@@shanerulez79 How can anything get better than it was when it was built if it is used by only 1 user? You must have missed episode Gadget in Mini madness - in that episode not only does she use her book and watch in the house, but it is shown that she weaponized most of her toys.
30:00 Unfortunately this one would make a lot of people mad today.
Mesterius1
That's what I believe too; the version at 00:42 is definitely Don Adams.
The later Inspector Gadget cartoons are okay, but I like the original Inspector Gadget cartoon better.
Gadget Boy was decent, the reboot was meh and Gadgetinis was bland and boring in my opinion. So I agree. The original series was better.
@@kootunesscrewy Gadget Boy is one of the worst cartoons I've ever seen. Both the CGI series and Gadgetinis are vastly better.
They made Gadget much too idiotic in later shows.
I like Gary Owens And Don Adams Too

Indeed! do I have the French version of Inspector Gadget dvd Video IDP. I must say it is the best collection that they have taken from Inspector Gadget to date, and many episodes sounds great with excellent picture quality and sound, but I like more the original English dub! Hi again. Just wondered, where did u get the second season clips?
The season 2 clips are all from Cinedigm's DVD set. (Yes, the video quality really is that low.)
So do u think I shouldn't get this DVD either
It depends on what you're after. I've listed a number of the cons, but the set does have some pros as well... one of them being that it is, at this time, pretty much the only place to purchase season 2 on DVD, if you want to own those episodes. Plus, it includes most of the season 1 episodes (except for The Boat and Arabian Nights) in their correct running lenght/audio pitch. Still, those technical errors can get quite depressing on the affected episodes. All in all, up to you.
well i'm not getting the first season sets but will get the secand season since the only problem's the quality
So you have the Magna Pacific DVD sets from Australia collecting (most of) the first season, then?
❤ i love safety tips
14:07 January, February, March, April, May...
09:02 is probably the worst one. i can't hear tips anywhere
Oh, there is one in there. Gadget should have checked that rope himself. That's the safety tip. ;)
True. Plus you should make in update on this video using the safety tips from the new realised American box sets
I thought the American ones would be the best ones, since it came from the original country
Also could u give me an example of these audio dropouts?
7:54 Shaggy's put on a bit of weight.
They should taught me about Halloween safety tips for kids 👧 and adults 👩 who have been through it like me 😃
Don Adams was far better than Jesse White LOL
+ultramaximus How can you know that? The two Gadget actors we're hearing in this video are Gary Owens and Don Adams. Jesse White's version (likely the very first recording of the pilot episode) has to my knowledge never been released to the public. So we can't really know how good Jesse White's take on Gadget was.
That's what I meant - I had just listened to the Jesse White version too - the British guy
Ya Gary Owens was a DJ and voice actor from here, Jesse White was the British actor that also voiced this episode
Isn't Penny a little too old to play in a sandbox?
It's important to routinely reinforce the impression uncle Gadget has of her as just an innocent little girl. ;)

No one knows what happened to her mom and Dad
I hate Inspector Gadget’s safety tips!!
