pretty awesome for a bunch of old geezers ey? I had the distinct pleasure of seeing these guys when this album came out back in 1983. Iron Maiden brought them and Fastway over as opening acts that year for a limited number of shows. It was truly outstanding! That was the first American tour for Saxon. I was already hooked though by then. What an amazing metal group. Its also quite impressive that they are still out there playing and touring and sounding great after all these years. These guys started out in the early 70's so they are old as dirt!
Black Sabbath created Metal. Were joined by priest 4 years later. 70 and 74 respectively. In 1975 along Motorhead, then came Saxon in 79 to spearhead the new wave of heavy metal. They were the best that came from this movement. All of these titans are the best ever. I got into Sabbath first in 71. So they are my favourite band out of the four, but by not very much.
You should go listen to the original version if you get a chance. there are actually 2 bands called Saxon right now Because of a nasty break up. This is the original singer, Biff Byford and he's awesome
Only the Lunar Landing Module was called Eagle. Divided into Descent and Ascent Stages. The Command and Service Modules, that remained on Lunar Orbit with Michael Collins on board did not have a specific name as far as I know...
I used to have The Power And The Glory back in the early 80's when it came out. Also got a previous live tape that was released sometime before P&G. Then a few years later had a new release by them that had a cover of Ride Like The Wind. Anyways I would jam out to my Saxon tapes occasionally.
One of the best heavy metal bands of all time!
This is a perfect example of saxons ability to write awesome songs
Saw them years ago, amazing live
Saxon was part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal in 1980!!
I’ve seen Saxon many times over the years, and they are an amazing live band. Always one of my favorites.
Old school still sound badass heavy as hell they always kick ass been around since late 70s
Too few reactions to this awesome band on RUclips.
To find "tranquility". They landed on the "Sea of Tranquility" of the Moon. Mare Tranquillitatis...
Def Leppard were listening to Saxon before they were a band
Saxon still know how to bring the metal. Great song. Metal horns WAY up 🤘🏿🤘🏿🖤🖤🔥🔥!!
Saxon has kicked ass for a LONG TIME
Biff Byford (the vocalist) is now 72 and STILL hitting crazy high notes! His voice hasn't aged at all.
Best metal band ever
It didn't sound like this on The Power & The Glory album back in 1983. Think they re-recorded it in another version
Yeah its their orchestral version recorded about 10 years ago or so.
You should give broken hero’s a listen. I remember this song being played by 99.5 KISS radio in San Antonio after the challenger blew up.
Love saxon!❤
Seen Saxon many times since my first time in 1980 - they remain one of the greatest Metal bands of all time 🤘
I saw Saxon here in LA a few yrs back at The Belasco theater and they blew my mind away! Great reaction as always Wolf Hunters!
Saw them open for Judas Priest. Saxon is amazing and a great example of a band who has evolved and stayed true while staying with the times.
NWoBHM at its finest! I first seen them on " the Eagle has landed" tour in the 80's and two months back on their 40th anniversary tour!
Saxon is awesome
I think their new albums need more attention
I saw them in 85' with Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Still bring it

I shall immediately pull my Saxon vinyl out to be played. . . I've neglected them for too long.
i remember the first time I layed the needle down on the Crusader album. I think thats all I listened to over and over for a solid week.
Amazing!!! 🤘🎸
Thank you for this reaction! Wish this solo would never end 😍!
Apollo 11- the eagle has landed!
Saxon rules!👍🤘👊
You would love the song to the title album Denim and Leather. Especially if you listened on a Friday evening. Getting ready for the weekend 😆
First saw Saxon here in the UK around 1980 supporting Motorhead

British metal bands are the best! They have sophistication.
Very good video.
I can't wait until March, i go and see uriah heep, saxon and judas priest on the same night in London 👌🤘🤘

Next strong arm of the law :)
this song was for the first step on the moon, eagel has landed should gave that away...as the spaceship was called the eagle.

Bravi! 1983/4
Listen new album the Saxon is amazing!
Sorry, Kai...Saxon has been slaying for decades. Come on now, guys, you should know that.
Please react to more Saxon!!
May I suggest their songs Crusader,
Lionheart,
And Battalions of Steel
I miss the leads from Graham Oliver. His leads would split your ear drums. This is still a good version.
Rearranged
With orchestra, this one
