Brother you brought back a devastating time in My Adolescent life. I was Lita Luby’s “Boyfriend” for a minute. I took her to the Prom at Shady Grove Elementary in the 60’s. She was so beautiful with good hair, light skinned which stemmed from her Indian roots and funny. At the time Lita lived in Penllyn but the Mom’s lived in NJ not far from Ali with MC. Major Coxson’s Driver drove US in a huge white Rolls and all the kids were jealous. MC wasn’t known too well in Penllyn but in NJ and North Philly he was kind of a big shot. Always dressed sharp and was flashing his money. He’d give US $20 to go buy candy. I only saw him a few times though. Ja the story you told is on point although you did leave somethings out as I later found out then and now as a grown Man. MC was paid to bring the money and the H back but kept everything. The H belonged to the BM and they wanted it back. The BM came to NJ and tried to convince him to give it up but he didn’t. They then tied Lita’s Mom’s, Lita’s, Toro’s and MC’s hands behind their backs. Lex had hidden either under the bed or in the closet. Lita’s Mom was shot in the left arm/side and was paralyzed on that side but lived and Toro was shot in the head but lived but is blinded in the left eye. MC was also killed with a headshot and the BM gangsters wanted to hang him from the balcony as a warning that They weren’t to be Fcked with but ran out of time because the neighbors had heard the gunshots and also Lex had run to Ali’s to call the cops. MC had tried to get involved in Politics but because of his criminal record and his associations Folks found him to be a bad risk. I would see Lita and her brothers when they came to visit their Grandparents until she finally moved to her Mom and Coxson in Cherry Hill, NJ. I had found another video of the BM and MC name was also mentioned. Philly and the surrounding towns were controlled by the BM and even the Italians were very aware of them. Ali was also extorted by the BM which is why he was more invested in the Nation of Islam who also took his money. We never called them the Black Mafia but rather the Black Muslims which had NO affiliation with the Nation of Islam. Shortly afterwards came Frank Rizzo to be the Police Commissioner and things really got crazy. It amazes Me how few Folks knew or heard about the BM although they were so ruthless. I believe the 70-80’ were the years when most of the money was made with the introduction of Crack. H had become too expensive and more money was being made with Crack. Also Freeway Ricky Ross, Matthews and others had eliminated the middleman, that being the Italians and had a Connect with the Cartel’s. Although a sad story I want to thank you for the facts.
