Bethesda missed a good opportunity for a hidden ending. They should have made it possible to save Father as an in-game secret (maybe not apparent at launch but as months go by the players figure it out).
Thing is, we've known for a while that the Cabot mysterious serum extends natural human lifespan, X6-88 thinks you should give it to the Bioscience guys but this is never possible in-game. We also known the Institute experimented with FEV which originally started out as a pan-immunity project pre-War (ended up creating monsters, but they were immune to disease, radiation and didn't seem to age).
It’s strange that Bitesda didn’t add a logical option to “Father’s” question: What is your motive for destroying the institute. "Why am I doing this? Because the first thing I saw when I woke up was 2 killers who kill my wife (If you are a male character) or husband (if you are a female character) and steal my child, then my own son releases me to freedom and instead of taking me to a safe place, he simply watches me like a laboratory rat, whether I survive or not. It's not clear when Father became Director or learned of the mission in Vault 111. But he likely waited too long i.e. until he realized he would die of cancer.
It's also possible to use a modified version of the mysterious serum, but that requires access to the Institute (you can still choose to betray them later)

Father may be one of the people who couldn't have a brain transplant. If this was a human like body (I.e a synth) then this may be different. I just don't see an alliance between anyone but the Minutemen + Railroad, or Minutemen + Institute. The Railroad and Institute just won't work because the Institute doesn't see synths as anything but machines, and the Railroad will never accept that. Brotherhood of Steel views synths as abominations that must be destroyed on sight, going so far as you deem you an enemy for so much as just hanging out with Danse. I don't see the reason to do it. You can still do the regular ending and let Father die.
@@toromontana8290 I mean a mod so the ending is narrated as you showed in the video (like the traditional fallout ending)
@@lolololbanana1829 Well with the mod every possible ending is narrated (even if you don't save Shaun)
@@toromontana8290 is it available for ps4?
@@lolololbanana1829 There is a Father Companion version for PS4 but much more limited. There won't be voice acting, cutscenes and some other features.
I have a mod called genetical Father that makes father look more like Nate and Nora depending on their appearances and skin colors would this mod be compatible with genetical Father?
@@toromontana8290 thank you
Dr.Volkert swallowed a frog.
I just want to know why the location is in antarctica
Everywhere else is too hot for me.
There is another Mod where it's called Father Companion...you give Father your son the mysterious serem from Lazarus you got when you were working for the Cabot house.
It's the same mod, but you have more than one option to save Father lol
@@toromontana8290 LOL, I just realized that and was commenting on the dialogue...but yeah, I checked out the mod and see that it has more than one option....think I like the mysterious serem option....LOL
Brett Keane narrated this?
I think so, but now that I think about it, it could also be his synth double. I wouldn't know.
@@toromontana8290 touché sir
This its a mood
To save Shaun is that a mod or a actual thing in the game
It’s just a mod
Fallot NV still ending
Is awesome
Damn, this is perfect
nice mod but is dean sleep reading
They really need to fuck off with this lost and found family bullshit like in Fallout 3 and Fallout 4...
Fallout NV did it right, the game was rigged from the start baby!
The show was amazing.
Yeah I find it so lame for the games and restricting, it worked better on the show.
And you can fuck off with your opinion 😂
I like the idea but I hope they go a different direction in fallout 5. New Vegas felt a lot more free and less restrictive
is it true you can recruit doctor volkort and the coursers and stuff with him or does he say no and attack you?
Not recruitable. He always attacks no matter what you say.
But in the vanilla there was another group of Institute survivors you could help in a random event.
Why is this getting recommended to me all the sudden
I dunno, what are your interests?
@@toromontana8290 I love fallout and it’s lore and mods, but this particular one just seemed random especially since I’ve never watched this channel before haha
@@Reefer-Rampage69 So working as intended lol
@@toromontana8290 I suppose you’re right, I’m also a fair bit drunk so I apologize haha
@@toromontana8290 I've gotten this recommended too
I wish you could do this in the real game
Can you still get the normal endings?
Is this a mod or real???
Mod
would it be possible to save the fev cure for father insted of giving it to virgil?
Not possible. And Virgil had a very specific strain anyway.
@@toromontana8290 thx for the answer
The institute ending is the only ending. I hope is the canon one, imagine how good would be life is everyone is important just do the right thing everytime, on the top of that you leading the institute could means the kidnapping will stop if you wanted it.
There is an alternate peaceful ending in the Project Valkyrie mod, I'm also working on a separate one though that's more of an alternate joint Institute+Railroad ending where you take over the Institute as Director and free the synths that way.
@@toromontana8290 I don't want violence but it would be really nice. I'm a pacifist myself so...resolving it without any dead would be awesome. (BOS could die maybe)
@@RonanInLan In my ending, the BoS will have to die. (though peace could still happen, maybe I'll do a questline where the new Elder travels to the Commonwealth for an audience with the Director)
@@toromontana8290 that would be awesome
Yeah it’s just the institute doesn’t care about the people of the common wealth and they legit say that they can’t wait until all of the people in the wasteland die
u can get him as a companion?
How the heck are shawn's clothes not ripped to shreds from transforming into a super mutant ?
He found a bigger spare from the last super mutant director lol
Spandex
This is the mod I want for Fallout4
Is this a mod?
OMG finally, i was feeling like an ass to betray my family cos i felt the institute was evil
Lol thought it was real
I made it real.
@@toromontana8290 it's really cool :)
Let him interact with Virgil
There is, you also get an interesting conversation between Father and Strong if you take them both as companions lol
WHY THE HECK ARE YOU IN THE ANTARCTICA
Too hot elsewhere.
Oh that makes sense
Why does RUclips say Antarctica?
It's for the lulz.
Location: Antarctica ????
Awesome!!!
This is the end I most like of all. : D
To bad a mod had to be made for it. Good job.
Amazing, you can now save the führer.
Sometimes I wonder if the studio really put thought in to the name of the "antagonist" in fallout 4.
Why the fuck is Brett Keane voicing this?
Dude that caught me off guard 😂
I’ll robots shall die.
Ima restart to do this
Who in their right mind thought Brett Keane should voice act for this mod? Shame on you.
Why the heck did Shaun turn into a super mutant?
He gave the fev from the lab
Is it possible to use mods in a PS4?
yeahhhh but they kinda suck unfortunately.
Yes but it's super hard to set up internet, but if you have updated it to the best your set, also need internet
Now who gave Khadgar a role in the Institute
FEV path? Really?
To be fair, FEV is better because Father can live forever and Nora gets to remain on good terms with Lorenzo Cabot. The immortal family lol.
True but super mutants are not really liked by really anyone.
What about that age serum at the Cabot house? He does not have to be a supermutant to live forever
@@mustachehorse1221 The serum itself would likely halt Shaun's cancer, but he'd need to take the serum regularly to live forever and keep the cancer at bay.
Lorenzo's pact only covered the player character.
So I wrote it so that Dr. Volkert modified the serum so it's a single-dose cure (but Shaun wouldn't live forever).
@@mustachehorse1221 that's the path I chose
