I had something similar happen to me on lake o the pines. Last week seemed like only small, way below 10 inches, was on structure. Maybe the bigger ones were swimming around looking for different things to eat. Different shad, who knows? Thank you for the great pointers. Come fish with me on lake o the pines. You can catch some grown crappie.
Man don't worry buddy I have had this type of experience on Lewisville and Ray Roberts lately😢😢 lots of little fish very few keepers😒😒 I'm just here chilling and smoking some Meats and it sure is nice to get this notification for your videos😁😁👌👌
They're doing the fall spawn, go shallow. Usually a % of crappie (about 15- 20%) will spawn in the fall when the temperature has dropped to those about what they are during the spring spawn. That doesn't necessarily mean that's what you're seeing, but I found in certain areas this time if year they are in less than 10' of water with many in 3-6'. I found the same thing. Check to see if they have eggs. I also noticed that one day they'll take large minnows, next day they won't. I the stomachs the largest was 2".
I have heard a lot mention the fall spawn but I have yet to find that the case. How do you know the 15-20 percent are spawning? Not trying to disprove you, I am just curious. A lot of the fish I have cleaned for trips lately do have eggs but they are tiny and no way viable to spawn. Water temp was way over 80 degrees this day too
@@KidKrappie read about it. What I found it seems to be a small percentage, but they say 15% online, I have no idea. Watch Thomas Fishing's last video, all shallow. Friends today at Bear Canyon here in NM today, catching crappie all shallow. I'm just saying, if their not where you were, go shallow and look.
Good stuff 👍
Thank you!
Great video!
Thank you!
Love that lake. I rem my first camping trip there.
It’s an awesome lake no doubt!
I have had the the issue lately. Bunch of small ones. Man I would have kept that bass, they sure are good when you cook them blackened!

@@KidKrappie I was out the other day, almost all crappie were shallow, 4'-10' deep. There were some deeper, but most were shallow on structure.
It’s definitely odd for that area of the lake. I imagine it’s a time of the year thing maybe. You know they’ll be in there there soon if so. Nice work
I need to keep checking no doubt!
Your first spot was your best spot. So go back too it. Then come back to your second.
The first spot gave up a nice keeper so I was one for one lol. Should have stayed there longer
Over populated
