24-04-13 The once in a lifetime whale experience in the Ojo de Liebre lagoon, Guerrero Negro S03E07

We would like to take you on a #WhaleWatching tour, that was so incredible, that you will only have it once in a lifetime and so impressive, that you will remember it for a lifetime. The gray whales came right up to the boat, let me touch their fins, looked at me with interest and I was allowed to stroke their heads. It was simply fascinating.
We have been wating a long time for this moments with the gray whales. It can be read, that the #GrayWhales arrive at the #MexicanPacific Coast in mid-December to give birth to #WhaleCalves. The calves do not yet have sufficiently warming layer of fat to survive in the cold feeding grounds of Alaska. The whales seek out lagoons, because they are protected from predators (e.g. orcas). The lagoon with the most whales is #OjoDeLiebre near GuerreroNegro. No whale tours are offered in December; from land the #blow and the whales can be observed at a great distance. From mid-January the whale tours start with small boats; however the whales do not come close to the boats, because the mothers have just given birth and are busy teaching the calves to swim and breathe. As a rule it is not until February that they have the leisure to come theirselves with interest or show their calves the humans.
