I completed this anime and binge watched it yesterday, it was a bad idea, I cannot sleep now and I feel devastated.. The soundtracks, story, animation all 10/10.. The fact that kaori's treasure was a photo of hers and kousei, which was taken by chance, still breaks me.. Kaori still lives in our hearts..
Ya it may seem like that for now. But the true depth of the series can only be felt if you binge watch it. After completing the series, I wasn't able to think about other stuffs. But I didn't wanted to think about other stuffs either. I enjoyed the after effects of the series..

Kaori takes the crucial surgery because she doesn't want to end everything with Kousei after she finally gets too close with him.. The sad part is that the surgery didn't go well and she died.. We can clearly see that she really want a healthy relationship with Kousei once she fully recover and will about to confess if the surgery succeed.. Btw, the final words from the lyrics is "Goodbye and Thank you".. very touching..
Only this songs makes me cry every time when I listen it. Because when Kousei reading Koari's letter, this song was playing at the end. I will never forget this anime in my life.

I keep seeing people just talk about how sad this version is, and that's true. But for me, it's more than that. This song is like it's grieving. It's like it's trying to find hope and move on despite the pain, but for now, it can't. And it's ok with that. For now, it needs this time to be sad. While the original reminisces on what is past, the acoustic mourns what could have been. What could those two young musicians could have been together. All those Aprils that they should have spent together, but were stolen. All those duets that will never be performed. The 'arigato' in the original sounds almost happy, and grateful, as if it's being called into the distance. Because it's looking so far back into the past, it can barely be reached. Whereas here, it's low and bittersweet, the scars of loss and grief still stinging and fresh, as if it were only yesterday Kousei and Kaori were preparing for what was meant to be final duet. The piano and violin together in harmony is everything: the keys mourning what's lost forever, and the bow bouncing off the strings trying to cheer us up and show us the beauty despite the pain. I adore how the intro mimics parts of the soundtrack used in the show. This song is Kousei and us, our pain as we watch our friend say goodbye, yet we're so happy and grateful that we still got to know her, and learn from her. That's how I feel anyway. This song is my favorite of all times... I can't sleep without listening... I wish i could thanks Wacci for this work, because is my whole life in a song that is on the only anime who could bring me good feels with tears, i just love Kaori, Kousei and of course, Wacci. Thanks this for existing.
After watching 80+ animes it is the last anime that i watched and promised myself not to watch any anime for rest of my life. I did watch this and finished this in April of 2023. In my whole life, I never felt so happy and sad at the same time. your lie in April is like a roller coaster ride it brings me to adventure. I could never be happier than this thankful that I found this beautiful art of story.

I first watched Your Lie in April when I was like 10 and I still distinctly remember the empty feeling I had after the show ended, it was like I had lost Kaori in real life.
After watching this last week I tried to recall the song on the last episode of this anime. I never knew that this song could open my wounds of my tragic past three years ago. She's my childhood sweetheart. We studied on different school during highschool but we happened to meet again and started our relationship. After graduating on highschool we entered the same university with the same course. We gladly compete with our grades and we later graduated with honor. After graduation she got hired on the company abroad that she applied to. I stayed here in my country and we began started long distance relationship. After four years she came back and then I proposed to her. We started our preparations in our wedding when an unfortunate event happened. My fiance got involved in a vehicular accident while trying to visit her relative. She hurriedly got rescued and taken to a hospital but later on she died due to severe wounds she got. We've been through a lot and I never get tired of her antics. But it still breaks my heart until now because she's the one that I promised to love for the rest of my life. I decided to live alone because she's irreplaceable.
This show breaks me so hard. Especially seeing the steady decline of kaori's health... By the end she had basically lost all color in her body. She was so pale at the end. That fact really really tears me apart. I deal with my own health issues, lupus and periods of anemia so I can kind of understand a bit in my own way.
Its masterfully done how the happy song that plays at the end of the early episodes is turned into this sad version and makes me cry. Wonderfully done technique
Nothing else to say aside that this depressing Anime is a masterpiece. (I honestly felt so sorry for Kaori, she was so cheerful & she was living her life to the fullest.) This was truly tragic

Today is 21st of november, and i realize that the most painful moment is when i woke up at 11 pm, not because of a nightmare but because i heard a voices laughing so hardly while gossiping about me. In that moment, i just wish that i don't want to be awaken just hearing those words that made my fragile heart goes even worst. No matter how close you are they can still betray you.

Sometimes the life that we struggle to is for someone that is special to us the effort and feelings are worth every sacrifice and pain just for that very special reason
I thought about this song recently. I met this guy and we became friends a few months before we were due to finish university. I knew already that our time would be limited. I knew how life went for people like me - we'd be friends, we'd finish school, we'd part ways. So I was so determined to live like Kaori - no regrets. Within the span of those few months, I hung out with him constantly. We made so many memories. We worked on a film set until 5 in the morning and lost our minds. I helped him with his assignments when he had sleep problems, and we lay on the floor of the classroom and talked about life and death and everything inbetween. I came over to help him with a project and stayed until 6 in the morning, and I even fell asleep in his bed. When we were working on our final projects, we'd go on walks in the middle of the night and just chat and drink energy drinks in parking lots. One night I took him to the docks, and we sat by the waves and laughed our asses off. I took him to a fancy restaurant and we shared sake together. I invited him over and we watched The Iron Giant. He invited me over and we worked together to make one of the best pasta dishes I ever ate. I took him to the arcade and we played all these really fun shooter games. On June 1st, I told him I liked him. He said he didn't feel the same way. I didn't mind, because I expected that response. But I told a lie. I didn't like him, I *loved* him. Yesterday, he finally moved away back to his hometown. Our story was over when the car pulled around the corner. The last thing I remember is his big grin and him shouting: "See you later, Koda!" And in a few weeks time, we will have our graduation ceremony and I will see him one last time. And I want to find the courage to tell him the truth, that I'm in love with him, and that it doesn't matter to me that he doesn't feel the same way. I just want him to know. I wonder if I mean anything to him. I wonder if all those things we did together even mean anything to him. I hope we see each other again. That's my story. It's bittersweet.
I hope you tell him what you feel cause the feeling of regret is worse than him not reciprocating your feelings. Even if he doesn't feel the same, I think the fact that he knows what you feel will be somewhat comforting for you... Believe me, I know there's a right person for everyone in this world. I'm a little late, but I'm here in December 2022, I feel a bit weird lately. Indeed, this ending is heartbreaking, however it mades me think. I grew better I think ? Whatever, I wanted to say that to me, even though the end is the best moment of the anime, It might also be the worst. It just feels wrong after all this negativity, after all this fight, after doing so many mistakes during her last year of living. She still died. I could talk about it so much more but I'm french so I'm not that much determined to explain my thoughts in english. I will just add to my opinion that the author wanted to change the end to make Kaori lives, He didn't make it because of some bullshit reason about the anime's prod.... I keep seeing people just talk about how sad this version is, and that's true. But for me, it's more than that. This song is like it's grieving. It's like it's trying to find hope and move on despite the pain, but for now, it can't. And it's ok with that. For now, it needs this time to be sad.
While the original reminisces on what is past, the acoustic mourns what could have been.
What could those two young musicians could have been together. All those Aprils that they should have spent together, but were stolen. All those duets that will never be performed.
The 'arigato' in the original sounds almost happy, and grateful, as if it's being called into the distance. Because it's looking so far back into the past, it can barely be reached. Whereas here, it's low and bittersweet, the scars of loss and grief still stinging and fresh, as if it were only yesterday Kousei and Kaori were preparing for what was meant to be final duet.
The piano and violin together in harmony is everything: the keys mourning what's lost forever, and the bow bouncing off the strings trying to cheer us up and show us the beauty despite the pain. I adore how the intro mimics parts of the soundtrack used in the show.
This song is Kousei and us, our pain as we watch our friend say goodbye, yet we're so happy and grateful that we still got to know her, and learn from her.

I first watched Your Lie in April when I was like 10 and I still distinctly remember the empty feeling I had after the show ended, it was like I had lost Kaori in real life.

After watching this last week I tried to recall the song on the last episode of this anime. I never knew that this song could open my wounds of my tragic past three years ago.
She's my childhood sweetheart. We studied on different school during highschool but we happened to meet again and started our relationship. After graduating on highschool we entered the same university with the same course. We gladly compete with our grades and we later graduated with honor.
After graduation she got hired on the company abroad that she applied to. I stayed here in my country and we began started long distance relationship.
After four years she came back and then I proposed to her. We started our preparations in our wedding when an unfortunate event happened. My fiance got involved in a vehicular accident while trying to visit her relative. She hurriedly got rescued and taken to a hospital but later on she died due to severe wounds she got. We've been through a lot and I never get tired of her antics. But it still breaks my heart until now because she's the one that I promised to love for the rest of my life. I decided to live alone because she's irreplaceable.

This show breaks me so hard. Especially seeing the steady decline of kaori's health... By the end she had basically lost all color in her body. She was so pale at the end. That fact really really tears me apart. I deal with my own health issues, lupus and periods of anemia so I can kind of understand a bit in my own way.

Today is 21st of november, and i realize that the most painful moment is when i woke up at 11 pm, not because of a nightmare but because i heard a voices laughing so hardly while gossiping about me. I thought about this song recently. I met this guy and we became friends a few months before we were due to finish university. I knew already that our time would be limited. I knew how life went for people like me - we'd be friends, we'd finish school, we'd part ways. So I was so determined to live like Kaori - no regrets.
Within the span of those few months, I hung out with him constantly. We made so many memories. We worked on a film set until 5 in the morning and lost our minds. I helped him with his assignments when he had sleep problems, and we lay on the floor of the classroom and talked about life and death and everything inbetween. I came over to help him with a project and stayed until 6 in the morning, and I even fell asleep in his bed. When we were working on our final projects, we'd go on walks in the middle of the night and just chat and drink energy drinks in parking lots. One night I took him to the docks, and we sat by the waves and laughed our asses off. I took him to a fancy restaurant and we shared sake together. I invited him over and we watched The Iron Giant. He invited me over and we worked together to make one of the best pasta dishes I ever ate. I took him to the arcade and we played all these really fun shooter games.
On June 1st, I told him I liked him. He said he didn't feel the same way. I didn't mind, because I expected that response.
But I told a lie. I didn't like him, I *loved* him.
Yesterday, he finally moved away back to his hometown. Our story was over when the car pulled around the corner. The last thing I remember is his big grin and him shouting: "See you later, Koda!" And in a few weeks time, we will have our graduation ceremony and I will see him one last time. And I want to find the courage to tell him the truth, that I'm in love with him, and that it doesn't matter to me that he doesn't feel the same way. I just want him to know.
I wonder if I mean anything to him. I wonder if all those things we did together even mean anything to him. I hope we see each other again. That's my story. It's bittersweet.
I hope you tell him what you feel cause the feeling of regret is worse than him not reciprocating your feelings. Even if he doesn't feel the same, I think the fact that he knows what you feel will be somewhat comforting for you...

I'm a little late, but I'm here in December 2022, I feel a bit weird lately. Indeed, this ending is heartbreaking, however it mades me think. I grew better I think ? Whatever, I wanted to say that to me, even though the end is the best moment of the anime, It might also be the worst. It just feels wrong after all this negativity, after all this fight, after doing so many mistakes during her last year of living. She still died. I could talk about it so much more but I'm french so I'm not that much determined to explain my thoughts in english. I will just add to my opinion that the author wanted to change the end to make Kaori lives, He didn't make it because of some bullshit reason about the anime's prod....
Still, I love Your Lie In April, despite it hits so so hard.
