In my beloved Country, ex- Yugoslavia, there was no Censureship, this "Baise-Moi" I buyed on a Kiosk with Cigarettes. In the local Cinema there was no Age Ratings, no cutted Movies. Only those movies are showed latter, after 10 pm. What a happy Country that was. But for Politic reasons one of our Directors was 3 years in Jail and never directed again, and this was his first student film. 🌩
when i collected dvd's i only bought like really hardcore disturbing films like august underground and movies like salo 120 days of sodom....then when blu ray was introduced and they were releasing my childhood favorites in such prestine prints and super cleaned up it was like watching the movie for the first time. great video, as always.
DVDs were a game changer. Going from VHS to DVD was almost unreal with the addition of bonus features, easy to use menus and chapter selection, and smaller for easier storage. It was like a whole new world opened up for me and I’ll always have fond memories of that transition from VHS to DVD. I like Blu Ray too, but I’m not so sure the kind of movies I like need to be scrubbed up and cleaned to a 4K presentation. Mondo Cannibal is a really bad movie. How they got that movie made is a mystery to me. And on top of that its a really bad rip off of Cannibal Holocaust. Ruggero Deodato is turning in his grave.

I just watched Combat Shock with my son two days ago. It was pretty dark for Troma.

It’s all part of the fun of being a collector. I try to find different editions of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The hunt is half the fun to me 😃
