Interesting topic. Ive been renting a small studio in reno for a year and thinking about getting a home. But at these prices that'l only happen if i can find a super good deal or move way into the country.
Supply and demand. It's so boring it's painful. Low multi decade supply means high prices until supply catches up... from a workforce with less tradesman. I don't forsee this getting better for decades. I think small manufactured homes are going to make a comeback but be way more stylish... some of them are looking really impressive. I think the market will have to come up with a radical solution that is drastically cheaper. I think pre-built factory homes are the way.
