    Can you show setting up player 2 controls?

    • @PastBlaster
      @PastBlaster  5 лет назад

      I'd love to.....Just played with it, and it looks like because player 2 is on the same encoder.....it won't let you. I am hoping some of the bigger MiSTer guys see this and can help. I was hoping it would work more like a MAME setup that allowed you to map player 2 after player 1 was finished.....Maybe in a future update?

    • @PastBlaster
      @PastBlaster  5 лет назад

      Maybe there is a way to set it up as a "Keyboard" and have it handle everything...

    My JVS cab is plug and play however my JVS-pac registers as a keyboard and the mister doesn't let me map all the buttons I want. I need to figure that out then it will be flawless.

    Thank you for this! I've used your tutorial to replicate this setup in my Astro City.
    One question: can you clarify what the danger of using amplified audio in a cab is? Just want to make sure I'm not doing anything to damage my MiSTer, J-Pac or my cab's power supply.

      The Egret 2 had some issues at first. There is a "SOG" or Sync on Green switch on the IO as well as some Sync Settings in your Mister.ini you can mess with. Feel free to message me if you want some help.

    Awesome setup, I just wish I knew more about Jamma / JPAC, I hear the terms all the time in dealing with arcade hardware, but dont fully understand what they are.

    • @anonymousidea9119
      @anonymousidea9119 4 года назад +2

      Jamma: basically an arcade standard for game PCBs. The majority of arcade games either use it or can be converted to use it.
      JPAC: bridges a computer using MAME to an arcade cabinet.
      But this is just my interpretation, as a very novice arcade enthusiast.

    I'm using the JPAC hooked up to the VGA out on the I/O board, and I get really blown out levels going to my arcade monitor, to the point where several cores just refused to look correct even after massive monitor adjustments (SNES in particular). I have checked around, and other people are seeing the same issue. First off, anyone here have this issue? If so, I was wondering if anyone has tried the HDMI-to-VGA-to-JPAC route to eliminate the issue, or if someone has tried converting component to JAMMA. I am basically trying to just end-around the issue given how far different this is than, say, my real Neo Geo board or my other arcade boards (I have a few, and a PC, none seem to be behaving like the MiSTer). Honestly, whole situation seems crazy to me, if the core is really doing what the MVS does, I shouldn't need much adjustments at all from my real MVS.

      I have the same problem. I'm using HDMI -> VGA -> J-Pac now, but I'd rather use I/O VGA -> JPAC instead. Levels look terrible, and some colors are just completely wrong.

      I'm having the same issue. Colors and levels seem out of wack plus it has trouble with sync on many games

    hello ... I have a question:
    it is possible to directly connect the control and button wires directly to the msiter fpga interface.
    without this J-PAC Jamma card ... I wanted to make a direct connection ... to decrease
    is the imput lag possible?

    • @PastBlaster
      @PastBlaster  4 года назад +1

      You are going to need some sort of I/O / Encoder in order for it to work. You could potentially use a SNAC adapter or something, but not sure how. I play games on this setup a lot and don't really feel any lag.

    • @PastBlaster

      Does your IO have a "SOG" switch on it? Some of them use that as Sync on Green. My first IO needed that flipped in order to work properly.

    Maybe off topic. But I been trying to get my pi4 to work on my naomi universal cab. Worked fine with the pi3. Video signal just wont sync.
    But your setup here is nice, probably helps with the lag for sure. Instead of going thru a usb encoder.

    Currently looking for the best way to set up my candy cab. This looks great! But upon checking the website, I don't see any cores for the ST-V. A lot of arcade releases later made for the Saturn were on it. Guess a Windows rig with a JPac is still the way to go for me.

    Hello I am also setting mister fpga to j-pac in Newnet City. I connected j-pac to the jvw to jamma setting, and I updated the core and bios with the all-update script. However, after running the game, a strong green color is displayed on the overall menu or game screen. Anyone can see it clearly. Did you know this phenomenon? ㅠㅜ

    • @PastBlaster
      @PastBlaster  4 года назад

      On your I/O there is a SOG or Sync on Green switch. Try moving that to the opposite position. If that doesn't work, in the Mister.ini config, there is an option for Sync on Green. If that is on, try turning it off. Let me know if that helps!

      I agree! I have been playing with it, and I believe currently, the MiSTer wants to see 2 seperate USB encoders for Player 1 and player 2. I am hopeful that they can add functionality in the future to allow the usage of one large encoder (JPAC) to handle both players. Fingers Crossed!

      I have a candy cab too, but missing the monitor. I plugged the cab's harness straight into the JPAC and connected the JPAC to the mister board through USB. The joystick and buttons worked fine, so I guess I will find a hdmi monitor and mount it in the cab. i stopped the project because I could not get two player mode to work. I'll set tight until there is solution. Thanks for your great video....
