It makes sense, because he already lost his dad to WN, he doesn’t want to lose his friends to the Ghost General too. It makes sense why Jin Ling would draw his sword. The Juniors are the first friends he has ever had, he doesn’t want to lose them the same way he lost his parents🥺also fricking Zizhen just exposing Sizhui’s ass🤣

I gotta hand it to Sizhui...not once did he look down on Wei Ying even after know his real identity...he saw Lan Zahn stand by Wei Ying through it all...he knew if Lan Zahn was on Wei Ying side he can't be as evil as everyone made him out to be. In Sizhui you could see he had nothing but respect and admiration for Wei Ying...love Jin Ling's jealousy like that's my uncle i should be getting the praises not Sizhui😂...Wei Ying's interactions with the youngsters is the best ❤

LET ME WRITE AN ESSAY ON WHY THIS SCENE IS SO FUCKING GOOD. And why I'm SO GLAD they included it.
No. 1 WEN NING gets the chance to see his family again. Not only are the expressions, his teary eyes, his sweetness and his relief at finding any reminent of his family alive so GOREGOUS to watch (especially seeing as his greatest protector and even at one point his second protector Wei Ying died). It really hits home that Yaun could have been as damaged as Ning was if Lan Zhan hadnt stepped in. Not only does this mean a great deal to Ning but it also creates quite a beautiful relationship between Wen Ning and Lan Zhan. He owes him the last of his family. And then he also found the only person who might understand the travesty of what happened to the innocents of the Wen clan. He and Yuan are the only two people who might truly understand that. He not only found a nephew, he found a friend.
No. 2 THE FACT YUAN KEPT THE TOY. The one that links him both to Wei Ying (who firsy showed it to him) but also to Lan Zhan (who bought it for him). It show how much impact Wei Ying really had on him in his first years. That he would panic seeing him faint so badly and he would keep a toy on him at all time without remembering how he got it. Subconsciously, Wei Ying was always with him. But then the Wen Ning's FACE when he reveals it, next to the second one, the connection they figured out together. They are so alike in their their positions on Wei Ying, Lan Zhan and their emotional turmoil.
No. 3 LAN ZHAN(and Wei Ying). Not only do we learn that he took that little boy, raised him as his own son and gave him safety and stability. But he raised him to be kind, intelligent, gentle and tolerant... the kind of person who would never shun Wei Ying or even someone like Wen Ning. He is kind to him, engages and is respectful. And then of course we learn that despite Lan Zhan rescuing Yuan, he was so aggrieved that for years he shut himself away unable to face the outside world with out Wei Ying. Like this man loves Wei Ying so fucking much. But the fact that the one thing that would break him out of it someone both Wei Ying and he saw as their son. FUCKING OW. He also sees a moment where he knows in someway Yuan remembers Wei Ying. When he doesnt know why he is so scared of him being unwell or hurt. Lan Zhan probably thought all these years he had forgotten, probably hoped he did so he wouldnt have to suffer the pain of knowing what happened. But now he knows in Yuan's heart he remembers even if his brain hasnt caught up yet. And I bet Lan Zhan wasnt sure if he as glad he would know Wei Ying or he was sad he remembered the grief of loosing him. Because if anyone would understand the pain of loosing that man it would be Lan Zhan.
Bonus: I fucking love who they chose for Jin Ling. Not only does he look like an exact cross of Jaing Cheng and his father, but he acts exactly like Jaing Cheng does. That sort of explosive irrational petulant anger which of course is expected of him hes still a kid. But it really shows that Jaing Chen was too irrational for too long and he regretted it only when what was left of his first family (Wei Ying) was alienated and had found a new family in Lan Zhan, Wen Ning, and now Yuan. It really shows the difference, Jin Ling isnt that way bc he was without a mother. Yuan was without a mother too. Jin Ling was raised in anger and pressure. Yuan was raised in love, guidance and patience. That is the only difference.

I love how you point the difference between the characteristics of jinling and yuan. Never really thought about it and yes they both don't have mother it depends on their upbringing and jinling could never use his lack of parents as ans excuse for his childish behavior

Jin Ling has not come to respect Wei Wuxian. Jin Ling is his nephew yes, but Ayuan is his son and Ayuan loves Wei Wuxian.
I feel bad for both boys, but again, it's the difference in how they were raised. Yuan was raised with love, kindness, acceptance etc. Jin Ling was raised in anger and hate and taught to be angry and hateful. Jiang really did him down and dirty.

My heart goes out to Jin Ling. His entire life, people have told him Wen Ning murdered his father-because Wen Ning tore the man’s Heart out his chest. How should Jin Ling feel but conflicted? Then there is Wei WuXian/- all of his life everyone told him that Wei Wixian l--who should’ve been his uncle was responsible for the death of his father and his mother. However, it is obvious Jin Ling has come to respect, trust, perhaps even like Wei Wuxian. However who gets Wei Wuxian’s affection/ Lan Yuan?! Why?
