If you cut gsm from the same place then the same thread will fall, so if you have to cut different places or diagonally the same thread will not fall, this is the reason, what you say is not the real reason. You also said to take five to ten specimen, according to the method you have to take five, not ten

GSM is a standard measurement for fabric weight on the other side Thread Count is the number of horizontal and vertical threads per square inch.
