I grew up in Fremont from my birth in 1962 until I moved to Berkeley in 1980; and while I was well aware of the Hayward fault and its presence (it did, after all, result in the abandonment and destruction of the city hall I grew up with) I was not aware of the tie-in with the Calaveras fault to create Mission Peak. This is super interesting to me even though I no longer live in the Bay Area. Thanks Callan!

You might consider putting the words for AGU in the channel description. As important as AGU is, it is not a household acronym.

I am searching for a new home in Bay area.. I was interested in Fremont and Hayward due to lower prices compared to Santa Clara and Sunnyvale. Can you please suggest the safest place to buy a house ? What home features should be looked at when buying around earthquake zone ?

This site might be useful: temblor.net/. The whole Bay Area has high risk of earthquakes, but the material your house is built upon can make a big difference in the local damage.
