I was able to run NAOMI 2 games on the Pi 5 with a much smoother framerate (almost locked 60 fps) as long as you tweak the flycast settings properly

Im running Batocera on my PI5 and its far better than retropie or running on a rasp OS only thing it doesnt have is pcsx2 but almost everything is playable with a few here and there that needs tweaking but its far better than retropie or a raspberry OS

Yes Batocera is a good OS. Another choice is Recalbox, have you tried that ?
