    Xiaomi or whichever manufacturer usually specifies the capacity of power bank in terms of the internal rechargeable battery used.A charging process by powerbank will go through the following process.
    1) The 3.7(4.2 volt on full charge) internal lithium ion or lipo cell volt has to be stepped up to 5 volt usb standard.
    2) The 5 volt usb out will be stepped down to 4.2 volt by the charging module of the smart phone to recharge the 3.7 volt internal battery of the phone.
    Thus a charging process includes the above two steps where first step involves a considerable loss of energy in boosting and further second step too will make some loss of power in stepping down.In whole together no power bank in the world as far as I know can give combined efficiency of more than 80 percentage of the battery used , during the above two processes.upto 70 percentage efficiency is the most common and some few products like iBall IB LP 10000 are giving efficiency of upto 77 percentage and that due to simple booster circuit which involves minimal components in circuit. If battery is charged to a voltage of 4.3 then ofcourse it will appear that efficiency is increased but life of the cell will be reduced substantially.

    Recently purchased Mi 3i 20000 mAh. It charged my Samsung M52(5000 mAh) 0-80% 3 times and 0-60% 1 time. Calculating it 5000×80%= 4000 mAh and 5000×60% = 3000 mAh
    So I got 4000×3+3000= 15000 mAh actual output.

    I bought this powerbank recently to power up my wifi router. I have a NOKIA router. It's adapter has rating of 12V/1.5A. This power bank has also claimed to have output of 12V/1.5A from both Type A and Type C port. I tried DIY solution to make cable from USB-A to wifi router port. But, Wifi router is not working with it.
    Do you any suggestion for my DIY Powerbank UPS? or can you show any idea to do this?

    Thank You very much for your test on technical ground. I am planning to buy this for my DJI Pocket 2 camera just because it has 'Low Power Charging Mode' too. (It may be used for continuous power support while recording with DJI camera). My DJI camera's battery info is ...875mAh capacity / Voltage 7.7 / Energy 6.738 Wh / input 5V-2A / Output 5V-500mA. DJi company has developed a charging case for this with... 1500mAh capacity / input 5V-2A / Output 5V-900mA / Adapter 5V/2A or 5V/1A. SO MY QUESTION IS... WILL THIS MI POWER BANK SUITABLE FOR MY CAMERA????? As per technical specification this power bank has lowerest power support of 5V/2.4A with usb-A.

    It's not a false claim. The 20000mah is claimed at 3.7v internal battery voltage. Which comes up to 74w/hr. Measured capacity at the usb ports will always be slightly less w/hr due to conversion loss. If u want to test the real capacity of the cells. Charge the cell to 4.2v and discharge it with a constant current and measure the amp hours till 3v.

      Nice review. Good work. But u made some mistakes.
      Phone battries are generally 3.77v (almost all modern phones use lithium hv and charge the cell to 4.4v). Mah is not the correct way of measuring battery capacity. U should use the watt hour only. Like a 4000mah battery has 15w/hr . 6000mah battery has 23w/hr..u also have to consider the conversion loss at the phone. Generally it's 95% efficient.
      The power bank did extremely well with 93% at the usb ports that is much better than what i was expecting. They can extract more capacity with better more efficient charge controller but those few percent efficiency gains will dramatically increase pricing of the product. If they use gan fets they can probably get 96% but it will most likely increase the price to double.

      At this price point i expect not much more from a powerbank.. usb 12v was not triggering probably due to incompatible charger. And some of your measurements were off due to extremely long type c cable . Like i could see 8.8v at the meter so more than likely 200mv is dropping in the cable and much more were dropping at the load end. And these devices are intelligent enough to limit current in order to not make a thermal runaway situation of a cheap cable that has high internal resistance.

    My 3i charges in 6-7 hours with USB moto turbo charger and does give 20000 mah as it charges my 3000 and 40000 mah mobiles by 4-5 times, giving around 14-15000 mah actual charge, which is 20000 mah power bank, since 20-25% is lost in charging

    When attempting to make such videos, it's important to understand the fundamentals as well as what the specifications really mean.
    20000 mAh is the capacity of the LiPo battery pack at its nominal voltage of 3.7V.
    It is NOT the output capacity of the power bank itself. There will be an inherent loss in the switching DC-DC converter.
    Going by your number, 5x13800 / (3.7 x 20000) = 93.24 % efficiency, which is well within the specs of a good power bank

    The advertised cell capacity is 20000 mah if we calculate by using 3.7v and 74 Wh but if we calculate cell capacity by using 5v and 74 Wh then the cell capacity as advertised is 14800 mAh. According to you test you got 13800 mAh. So technically you got 94% of what was advertised.

    Your calculation of the mAH value (13800) is wrong.
    The battery is rated at 20000 mAH @ 3.7V
    Now, Converting the 69Wh to mAH @ 3.7V it gives 18648 mAH.
    Also, The calculation that it can charge 6000mAH battery 2 times is wrong. It will depend on the power capacity of the battery being charged. mAH shouldn't be used to calculate the number of times a battery could be charged. It will depend on the mAH value in addition to the rated voltage of the battery to decided the actual capacity on the battery in Wh and then using that to calculate the number of times it can be changed using the power bank. ie. 69/
    Eg. If the battery is 6000 mAH and the rated voltage is 3.85 (typical for mobile phones), We get the capacity as 23.1 Wh. That mean the power bank can charge the battery 69/23.1 ~ 3 times

    I have a couple of questions about this power bank?
    1. How output ports are compatible with all voltage devices(5, 9v etc)? I meant how power bank calculates the required voltage of a connected device?
    2. I have small devices which requires 5v, 2.4 amp. Can I use this power bank to charge those devices or there is any risk to do so? Would power bank supply only this 5v automatically?

      the e marker chip on it will do a shake hand to the device for the highest voltage and current should uses, 5v is the default voltage, voltage is pushed, current is pulled, so no, ur devices won't pull more current than needed, but different voltages can harm ur device, for example, this happens when u use an adapter that only supports 9v DC output, but the device was built to accepts 5v

    Calculation seems wrong...you discharged @ 9V and calculated power w.r.t 5V. Also you did not show output of Your Charger..is it capable of giving output 12V / 15V?

      Publicity: actually inside battery is of 3.7 Volts at 10k mAh. Means energy 37Wh. But your phone is going to charge with 5V, means 37Wh/5V = 7400 mAh and if 90% efficiency, then 6600 mAh.

    Sir i have the same power bank , i want to power up my RaspberryPi 4 which requires a power supply of 5.1volts , 3 ampere and 15 watt . How should i power it up without damaging the RaspberryPi components . RaspberryPi 4 has a Type-C connector and i have a Type-C to Type-C power cable and the Type-C cable from the box of mi 3i Power bank. And also Suggest how many Ampere can the safe charging mode deliver?

      Normally it deliver 5V and ampere depends upon the load/project. I am using 10,000 mAh reaalme powerbank with my an adreno project from last 5-6 months without any problem.

      @@BCDTech sir thank you for the reply. I still do want to know can low power charging mode deliver upto 3amps to power the raspberry pi 4 up? Arduino can work at even 500 mili ampere. But raspberry pi 4 can draw from 2.4 amp - 3 amp. If the power bank can deliver 5v and 2.4 - 3 amps in Low power mode over usb Type A to type C. I will use it in low power mode only and not risk it to connect to Type - C power delivery or normal mode. Please check the maximum ampere safe charging mode can deliver.

    This show it is atleast in a good range. If we take indian brand battery ,(lead acid) than the real efficiency is much less than 50pc of of its rating power before safe cut off.

    I have Mi 1000mAh power bank and I tested its capacity using USB tester and its real capacity was 7000 mAh.
    Good 18650 (Genuine Orange,BAK,Roofers brand) battery based power bank gives exact power.
