It's only moderately insane when you can write it off as a business expense. If Hoovie leases that car (with an option to buy out the lease, of course), he can write off all those lease payments as business expenses. That's what Stradman is doing with his latest hypercar purchase.
Well yeah, for most people that's very true - but if you have a youtube channel with a million or more subscribers and you can justify it as a business expense... it's probably not a terrible financial decision - particularly on a car that appreciates like a Gullwing.

Hoovie, as your financial advisor, it is my fiduciary duty to inform you that its not time yet. Wait 6 months for better rates and then refinance so you are more liquid. Keep that cash to keep you and yours out of trouble. Reassess in a year or two.
Hoovie, to hell with the naysayers, this was one of the best vids i've seen of yours in a while, pure honesty! Life is about the journey, and at its end, its the what if questions that kill us... Refinance the house, pull the money out, have to clear the debt on the countach anyway, that's the insurance policy if it goes wrong. Buy the last 300 SL hooptie. You will never lose on it, and if you chose to restore it one day someday, you'd make more than any interest on the mortgage. DO THE THING, go to all the events, rallys, shows, feel like you have made it just by being on the lawn. No better feeling I guarente.

Back in the eighties I attended the Sully Antique car show in Chantilly Va. Got to see a silver 300 Gullwing with red leather interior with matching luggage and I believe golf bag as well. It was beautiful. Also watched a bunch of guys put together a Ford Model T in 10 minutes & get it running.
You only go around once. Run out your worst case scenario. You sell the 599 and Z8 to rebuild your cash if needed. Both are amazing cars but can be replaced with a modicum of effort. Absolute worst case, you sell the Countach and get Daddy Doug to let you drive his every once in a while. I agree that the gullwing may not have parabolic upside, but I can't see you taking a huge hit on such an iconic vehicle if you ever had to sell. Don't go to your grave if you'd have the regret of never owning one.
Once those 5 don’t sell because the owners think they are worth 3 million, prices will drop quickly. Hoovie don’t get caught holding the bag. Wait 6 months and buy one after the dip.
I would completely take April and the Grand Camino over my dream car. If I had a woman like her to spend time with, I probably would forget all about cars. The fact that she is a car enthusiast is just the icing on the cake. I don’t think you truly know how lucky you are lol!
Take a breath Hoovie and look at what you get to come home to. There are things that are a LOT more important than cars! Remember, a fool and his money are soon parted.
If you aren't totally certain that there's no risk of losing what you have, don't do it. You've waited this long, be patient and when the time is right to buy your dream car you'll get it.
My father was in the USAF stationed in Europe in the mid 1950s. On a Navy ship returning to the US in the summer of 1958 we met an Air Force sergeant who had a 300SL in the hold of the ship. I have always wondered if his family still has that car.
The smart, boring thing to do is pay off all the other debts, finish the farm, double down on the mortgage payments every 15 days and keep chasing the dream. To quote Spock, "having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting. It is illogical but it is often true."
As you said, there are a 1000 of them out there! I've learned from my train hobby, that there is always another chance at the item I'm wanting and usually at a better price/condition that comes around with a bit of patience!
@@plektosgamingnah, there will always be deals on all production cars, BUT, if your looking for a deal on the type of car we are discussing here then you’ve got to know where to look and whose pocket you need to be in because you won’t find these deals on Marketplace or Craigslist and will need to have the ability to access cash within a few short hours and if you can meet these few, simple requirements, then you too can walk away with the deal of a lifetime! No matter what income level your at or what your status is, there always comes a time when the owners of high end collector pieces, whether it’s Art, Automobiles, Real Estate, Firearms, etc., need to dump a certain piece within a quick few hours by letting one individual know it’s available and that one person basically keeps up with the movers & shakers that have the ability to make a wire transfer in the next two hours and for that ability, the buyer gets a deal of a lifetime. Sellers usually need to “dump” a piece to raise money for another purchase they currently want more than the one they currently have and that is the quickest way for them to do it. There are also the other reasons to liquidate at a reduced value quickly that all of us seem to run into these days and that’s for a divorce sale where you understand your taking a huge loss either way so you opt to take a big loss by selling the car to your buddy instead of giving the ex half of fair market value. But regardless of the situation or what your looking for, there will always be deals to be had but you’ve gotta have your ducks in a row in order to score and have word out to the appropriate people and if your patient, you can be highly rewarded, but, if it’s something you want or gotta have today, then your never gonna win that prize and will always pay full, fair market value but if your patient, you can be wildly rewarded!!
You have to buy your dream car. Of the RUclipsrs I relate most with your automotive choices. Getting to see a gull wing live a “normal” life would be so amazing to watch. Also you could start pushing merch more to help.
April how dare you..... suggesting girl math as part of the equation #hoovienomics is totally different..... OK, maybe it is the same thing. LOL😂😅 One of the many reasons you are a great addition to Tyler's life and channels
Yea, it’s not like they are getting wrecked or rusting away outside. They are museum pieces at this point. Can’t even drive them at these prices so what’s the point.
The white one with red interior is a no brainer, love it. I used to know Thomas Larsson and I saw this car (the black one, though I wouldn’t have remembered the colour from back then) some 35 years ago. One of my good mates have in more recent years been out for a spin in this, we talked about it only quite recently but I’m totally with Tyler, the white one is stunning and he’d dare to use it and not to keep it only as a gem to polish.
You don’t wanna ever spend all your liquid in a purchase. When you have large amounts of money it’s better to use the banks money while holding your actual money.
In the 80's I worked reparing car radios. The local Lincoln/Mercury dealer owner brought me his Mercedes Gullwing to repair the radio and clear the dial face up so it was clear instead of yellow I am sure the radio is in two parts, and we never found the second part, but I went through the dash unit and cleaned up the dial face so it was clear again without damaging the silkscreen information on the dial face. The car was just out of restoration and took first class in a car show in Forest Grove, Oregon a few days later with everything, including the radio working as it should. I would still like to know where the second part of the radio was hidden, but I know it is somewhere in the car.
I'm going to be honest here. I don't think you're as successful as Ed Bolian or Doug Demuro. And you want a car that's more expensive than both of their dream cars? I wish you luck
What people (commenting) fail to realize is that you making these ridiculous impulse buys is exactly why they tune in. It's the entire premise of your channel. Your getting a mortgage and using the cash to buy your dream car will no doubt result thousands more viewers tuning in to watch you either succeed, or fall into financial ruin. I personally hope you can buy your dream car... and pay your bills.
I got a nice farm truck for you. 1998 c-2500 ext. Cab 8’ bed. Almost everything is new and stock. Nice interior, body has couple of easily fixed dents. It’s gas, vortec 350, new intake gaskets, distributor, fuel injection. In Massachusetts, not all rotted out. New ball joints and few tie rods also. It’s automatic, if 5 speed I would keep. LMK 😊
Man the green one looks so cool. Never seen it in green before. I'd be so tempted to punt the countach and get a gullwing even knowing it'll go up so much in value. Blues my favorite color though as cool as the green on is and it looks like you can drive it and not feel as bad.
In 1956 my dad traveled from the US to Germany with his life savings, went to the Porsche factory and picked a 356 off the lot for $2600. Drove it around Europe then shipped the car back to the us for $400. Shortly after he got home a dealer offered him a trade for his Porsche and $1000 for a Gullwing and he didn't have the $! He regretted that moment for the rest of his life.
Hoovie, consider the cars and the differences. You have a lot of great things you have done. Don't let the frustration get you down. You can get there some day.
Interesting to hear you talking yourself in and out of the purchase idea. I suggest you enjoy a financial rest after all the pressure. Lots of years ahead of you and who knows, they may peak and start to drop, like E-Types and others. Think of the Porsche you could get for a quarter the investment!

You're becoming a better, more informed, and savvy businessman in recent years. You're not a fool, even though a lot of the folks commenting disagree. You already know that you CAN do it (albeit with tightly-clenched butt-cheeks). Your experience has given you a better understanding of RUclips-business than probably ANY of your commenters, so I'm guessing you realize that actually DRIVING that Gull Wing regularly would truly set you apart, both as a RUclipsr and a Gull Wing owner. If you can make it make your payments, by all means get busy living your dream. Just make sure to enjoy it along the way. Reality check time. I'm disabled, I was happy to buy a 2005 Impala with 152k miles on it because my Focus died and it was all I could find. You have a beautiful house, a fleet of cool cars, a great gf who loves cars as much as you and your health. Step back and breathe man. You're in the catbird seat, enjoy it.
April is such a thoughtful spouse! Love your two :)
Tyler you have your dream Girl, things will come together 😂😂with the car at some point
Don't buy a 300SL Gullwing. It's just not worth it.
Absolutely worth it. :) We all have our dream car. Mine is a BMW M1. lol. Never going to happen, but it's different for each of us.
@@plektosgaming Dude, shut up and stop encouraging bad habits.
@@plektosgaminga rebodied Lamborghini?.😊
@@HyperHorse Lol. Tyler is already far far FAR too deep down that rabbit hole to look back. If you have a dream car, of course try to obtain it if you can. Why NOT? As the old saying goes: Nobody says on their deathbed "I wish I'd driven my Ferrari less."
@@plektosgaming Quit trolling. No car is worth financial ruin.
DON'T! Be our hooptie guy! Don't do what all those other channels have been doin'! keep the hoopties coming and once in a while drool over 300 sl pics and auctions! Thats what we love!
April, run, run fast and far away😂 Hoovie, that’s insane
Hoovie has a very impressive collection. He doesn't have to be jealous of anyone.
wow April definitely knows how to buy a gift for Hoovie
none of those car youtubers have a supermodel fiancé like April who's into what Tyler does 😁
I really enjoyed this video! Great job!
Tyler looking for a hooptie version of his dream car is hilarious. At least he's consistent. .
My favorite couple!
Chill for a min hoovie… the market might turn. But more importantly let your bank account cool off for a second
Once those 5 don’t sell because the owners think they are worth 3 million, prices will drop quickly. Hoovie don’t get caught holding the bag. Wait 6 months and buy one after the dip.
When the house and garage are Finished it will be all worth it.
April looks great w/ black hair, too.
Dude you have a countach and more than most people dream of having, don’t forget too see how far you’ve come 👍🏼
Dear Tyler, a real man has a barn filled with cars he enjoys, and a hot babe in his bed. Congrats 👊
If you aren't totally certain that there's no risk of losing what you have, don't do it.
You've waited this long, be patient and when the time is right to buy your dream car you'll get it.
Don’t compare, Hoovie; it can only breed envy & resentment.
I love April she’s so supportive of Hoovie ❤
My father was in the USAF stationed in Europe in the mid 1950s. On a Navy ship returning to the US in the summer of 1958 we met an Air Force sergeant who had a 300SL in the hold of the ship. I have always wondered if his family still has that car.
Car RUclipsr version of keeping up with the Jones' 😂
The smart, boring thing to do is pay off all the other debts, finish the farm, double down on the mortgage payments every 15 days and keep chasing the dream. To quote Spock, "having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting. It is illogical but it is often true."
Yeah but who's gonna watch that on RUclips? 🤔
@@100PercentJake watching someone burn money on RUclips isn't interesting either
As you said, there are a 1000 of them out there! I've learned from my train hobby, that there is always another chance at the item I'm wanting and usually at a better price/condition that comes around with a bit of patience!
Don't do it Tyler. it doesn't make any financial sense.
None of us are getting out of here alive LIVE EVERY MOMENT and go for it ( life is short ) all the best from Scotland
That 300 Mercedes xray is pretty cool.
Get it get it get it! My all time fav car too! That patina and colour 💚
You have to find a Hooptie Gull Wing for under a million.
Nope. 3 mil now, minimum. The days of a million for one were 40 years ago.
@@plektosgaming read the comment first before replying !
@@yugarten8523 A gullwing under a million simply does not exist, even as a shell that needs a complete rebuild.
@@plektosgaming the rusted one in latin america sold for less than a million and restored to perfection in europe !
I feel Hoovie's pain regarding the farm house reno. The money pit that is a home is absolutely ludicrous
Don’t forget Tavarish and the McLaren P1. Although he’s doing it the hard way.
Please Tyler do is all a favor.
Get a C8 ZR1. Get a C8 ZR1. Get a 1064 horsepower C8 ZR1!
Those other car RUclipsrs don't have Nelix.
With the connection that Strad has with his Egg you need to hold out for the gullwing that April posed with.
As much as I like the Gullwing, I don´t think it is worth this much... no even close.
Does he have a motorcycle honda?
Yea, it’s not like they are getting wrecked or rusting away outside. They are museum pieces at this point. Can’t even drive them at these prices so what’s the point.
@@77nizzova53 lol just edited the misprint out. Must be because in my native language Gold is spelled Gull.
Next video: Hoovie is sent to the Jelly School for being jealous of all of his friends and their car collections
Give me April and the grand camino for a Chiron..... You are ahead Hoovie.... you are a blessed man.
150,000 is approx 280,000 adjusted for inflation
Chill. The cars will always be there. 😊. Enjoy what you have. It awesome.
I thought RUclips paid enough not to have a mortgage after all these years. Surprised to hear how leveraged everything is.
He is recently divorced.
You don’t wanna ever spend all your liquid in a purchase. When you have large amounts of money it’s better to use the banks money while holding your actual money.
His videos are extremely expensive to produce. Each one shows him spending loads of money on cars… the Wizard is the real winner in this equation.
Whining is not becoming to you Hoovie! Good things come to those who wait! As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Sell the Countach to pay for the gull wing.
Definitely Countach is no match for the Gullwing 😂😂
1.2M mortage for 25 years is like 6k a month, no? That is nothing for Hoovie - you should do it man!
The farm. House is a excellent path forward with April! The cars will always be available!
LMK 😊
Go get one as soon as you can and enjoy it! 🙌 you earned it
Man the green one looks so cool.
Hovie could show real classic exotic car ownership. ❤❤❤
Not really, a 300SL will be cheaper and easier to maintain than his Maybach
HE CAN AFFORD THIS WITHOUT RUclips HIS FAMILY IS LOADED
Do it hoovie! We will all watch every gulping video you make
PULL THETRIGGER ON THAT 300SL! Follow your dream my guy. Also, April is a charmer.
Don't worry. Be happy... With what you have.
... And remember, you need to have enough money to keep April happy.
Car guy math... April needs to talk to Roadster Shop about building the Grand Camino, their TT V8 GN is insane. Also, I saw your old Calloway SuperNatural last weekend. New owner lives in my area and had it at a local show. Very cool car.
If you won't be able to relax and actually be HAPPY and grateful with the amazingness that you are living, then it won't be worthwhile. Best wishes to you and April.
Breathe, Tyler, breathe. Those cars will still be around tomorrow...✌🏻❤️🙂🇨🇦
I'd wait, Tyler. The hype is HUGE on these right now. Don't bankrupt yourself! 💯🤣
Respect his wife they love each other we all know she s hot but also seems pretty cool so good for him .. n dude we all know you'll get the car when you find the right one ..
Love the white with red interior. The patina is perfect
That sounds like a terrible decision. Buy high sell low I guess lol. Classic Hoovie.
Most people go their whole lives without seeing one in person. It’s honestly really crazy that you’ve even gotten to drive one.
Bud, you've had more dream cars pass through your garage than most of us plebians will ever have owned. You have a massive estate and a fleet of cars you enjoy. And you rarely have to even turn a wrench to enjoy all of it.
Hoovie…CHILL OUT!! You have so many other people’s dream cars already and an AMAZING property. Sit back and take a moment to enjoy the insane blessings in front of you. Do t get sucked into who’s got the next best whatever.
Buy the white one. It’s only going to hammer for 1,025,000.00. A total bargain. Then get Wizard to tune it up, Van Gough to do the paint correction and detail the engine bay and go on the ultimate Tyler and April road trip to LA or Florida or NYC. There’s only 2 colors to really consider on these, silver then maybe White. Everything else is a no go.
