I appreciate your humble approach. Some others are no it all’s and will snap back and put you down. I asked one about the rod he was using and he pointed me to some of his blogs on choosing rods. I told him I did not want to read all that and felt it did not answer my simple question about the rod in his video. I am 72 a Vietnam vet and just wish he would respect my age. He sharply put me down about not wanting to learn and use his process he has develop for a price. Well sorry about venting . Get well and get back on the water I have been rewatching some old one to get buy. Thanks for your shared trips. Gary Barrere
Thanks Gary , I’m no Pro and have no desire to act like one , I’m just a guy that likes to fish. It amazes me how some guys think having a RUclips channel makes them a Pro lol.
I subscribed to your channel. I enjoy what you show about fishing, and info you share. I have just bought a boat, and I mainly fish Galveston east bay. I'm ok on my speck fishing on the reefs, with artificial baits, but yet to find and catch any redfish. thanks
My best redfish getting tip is green lights under water by docks at night. Find some camps and docks with lights. I catch o e or two now and then day fishing best time is winter and March and April in Moses Lake. I caught a big ugly on Pepercorn reef in East bay in late spring. 35 lbs. pig.
Happy Labor Day Ross. 2 questions. What type/size in line hooks do you put on the spook Jr?what brand and size lip grips do you use? Thanks for being a great teacher.
Great video. Can you explain what lures you use during the dog days of summer? I live in Texas and fish middle Texas coast. What lures would you recommend for incoming and outgoing tides?
Nice vid Ross! I've noticed that on some of those cocahoes too, some packs even say, "made in USA" and some say, "made in china". That color you have looks alot like a needlefish.
Took me quite awhile to figure out the hooks on the Jr spook lure had to be in line hooks not normal hooks. Self discovery like golf lol. The hooks were hard to find up here in Austin.
Hey Ross new subscriber. Love your videos. Up in Oklahoma trying to learn all I can before I head down Texas way. Where would u suggest I try for my 1st trip to the coast in my 17' mako skiff? Prolly a spring trip or later. Not scared to head down your way. Thanks.
Hello Ross.....where do you purchase the 4" cocahoe queen (green/white tail) lures? I went on their website and can't find it anywhere. Can find it at the local box stores either.
I'm 63 and really enjoyed listening to you. Keep up the good work and don't for get your GoPro (or whatever). Did you go to High School in San Antonio?
Great Video Ross! I have a tackle store over here in aransas pass called Twisted Hook Fishing. Just got it opened up. One of your golf buddys came by and got some tackle you told him to buy. Would love for you to come by and chat some if you have the time. Great info in this video! We are at 1048 N. Commercial by pepitos.
I live and fish on the lower Chesapeake Bay our speckle trout slow down around Christmas when the water hits around 47° what is the coldest water you see down there, any advice for colder water?keep the videos coming Really enjoy them!
Is the mirrolure in the beginning of the video MirrOlure MirrOdine C-Eye Pro Series Crankbaits (COLOR: Black/White/Silver Glass)? Also, is the Mann's Wake bait a freshwater bass bait? I can't seem to find this lure in solid chartreuse anywhere, but I guess color doesn't make that much difference. Can you advise the specs for this Mann's Wake bait?
+RedfishRoss I called H&H and they said they never had that green/white. By chance, did u dip the tail in white? THey did mentioned that they had a Prell Green (#80) but it is discontinued. What item number was your cocahoe if u recall?
I am a plug man mostly.in the winter when the trout r plentiful thats all i throw.try out academy sports 1/2 oz ultimate jerk shad hard bait.my fav colors r crackle and hickory shad.i change the trebles out on them cuz they r real thin.when the trout quit bitin em the snook sure do love em too.but have not caught a red on one yet.reds dont like me for some reason.when i throw the jerk shad i always impart alot of dartin action for a reaction bite.u can impart some amazing action on this particular shape bait.give it a try!
