Hi everybody. I'm the guy (actor) that played Yablo in this wonderful commercial. To tell you the truth, I had no idea this commercial had had such a wonderful impact on people. It was one of my favorite projects. It was done by a wonderful and talented group of young people and It was a very exciting project.
We love you. I got this nigga confused with the Greek singer Yanni. When I first heard about Yanni and saw him for the first time, I thought I had found the guy from this commercial.
It was fun to shoot it and it was fun to see the finished product. I'm humbled by all the comments but all the kudos should go to the agency that produced it. They were the ones with the vision. Long live Yablo!
I'll never forget when a guy friend took me to see you at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion circa 1992. No wait that was Yanni. Nevermind. Seriously, great job with the ad. Good memories!

I was an immigrant kid in America when I first saw this commercial in the 90s, and was genuinely befuddled by American culture - “Why is this man singing an operatic baa baa black sheep to a stuffed sheep and where can I watch the rest of it?”. I’ve basically gone my entire life thinking that Yablo was a real musical artist and that this was a legitimate commercial, up until this very moment when I saw the top comments from the original actor.
Man I can't believe I came across this. Straight classic brings back memories of where I was the first time I heard this back n the day. My brother and I couldn't stop laughing one of the funniest commercials of all time.

I e-mailed sprite a loooong time ago requesting a copy of this video. A marketing VP responded back then thanking me for my interest in the commercial but couldn't send me a copy because the commercial was "outsourced."

I was 7 years old and legitimately up until now thought this was a real artist and a real cd and the sprite thing was just added cause they were promoting their free cd campaign. As an adult now I get it and it's hilarious 😂

There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.
I live in Denver and there was a guy on the 16th Street Mall today that was playing a pan flute and sure enough I had to shout out yablo Master of the Pan Flute every looked at me like I was crazy!!
I remember this commercial back in 97. It was so freakn hilarious when ibfirst saw it...lol Not to mention that I thought this was for real @ first and was involved with a lady from Bulgaria. Never do that again.

It's 2022 and there is a pandemic and it looks like WW3 has started with the Russian/Ukraine conflict. The world *needs* a Yablo comeback mockumentary. It could feature a bunch of Sprite product placement and hit like a Borat movie.
I remember thinking that this was real. I thought "Yablo" was the most bizarre human being I've ever seen, and that he made Michael Jackson and Prince look normal. But then someone told me it was just a spoof.
