Godfrey shared his thoughts on Mike Epps and Kevin Hart reigniting their beef, telling VladTV that Mike doesn't look good in the situation. Godfrey explained that while he's friends with both comedians, he believes that they should both unite instead of getting in a beef, which he thinks is started when the media picks one black comedian to be popular.
During the conversation, Godfrey explained how Eddie Murphy puts on other black comedians and added that Kevin does the same thing with his LOL Network. To hear more, hit the above clip.

Mike Epps has a hilarious stand up when he's on point and in an arena like his special Under Rated Never Faded. Kevin Hart isn't as funny to me personally, but I can listen to his interviews for hours because I just enjoy hearing him speak.
Kevin Hart is hilarious in person, in his most natural comedic form. His comedic stand ups have gradually gotten worse, but here’s why. As Kevin Hart has grown, he has had to change his material to be relatable internationally instead of just locally/nationally. Facts. He has the rare ability to make international material, something Mike Epps can’t do. His material is secluded for the most part to the black community. I personally think they’re both funny, but Kevin can light a room up. Mike can too, but Kevin just has that aura around him that just attracts everyone

What Godfrey is saying about white (mainstream) media only allowing one black person to shine at a time is not only true but a topic that has been around since at least the 1980s: For example, in Robert Townsend's film 'Hollywood Shuffle,' at one point the black protagonist, a struggling actor, was told in an audition that they were looking for 'an Eddie Murphy type (Murphy was riding high on the success of his standup, being a 'Saturday Night Live' cast member, & the first 'Beverly Hills Cop' film),' then seeing a bunch of other black male actors dressed & acting like Murphy's character from Beverly Hills Cop.
And it's not just an issue with black comics--As Godfrey & Vlad said in this and another video, this is done across the entire entertainment industry (I'm including major-league sports as entertainment here) and is of course a form of racism. But, as a counterpoint: 'Their game, their rules.' No black person who aspires to be in the entertainment industry has any excuse to be so naive that they think the same people who couldn't make it any clearer that they hate them would magically treat them better while having them on the hook (contracts/deals) for millions of dollars.
