TRANSFORMERS Fortress Maximus / Grand Maximus HEAD Review

Transformers Headmasters were an exciting new toy back in 1987 and with Titans return, we ended up getting a whole new slew of “Titan Masters” along with the original G1 characters. New versions of the Autobots Fortress Maximus and Grand Maximus were released with redesigned heads. But what if you wanted an extra head? Captain Kyle checks out this Lgex Lg31 Fortress Maximus head, which may be a knockoff or may be one of some extra units of the Legends Fort Max head made at the factory, to see if it’s any good.
The original Fortress Maximus was about $99 back in 1987 and was the largest Transformer produced by that time, standing a full 2 feet tall. Japan released an exclusive Grand Maximus based on this mold, with different colors and more accessories. That mold also was recolored yet again to become Brave Maximus for the 2000 Car Robots line. The new versions of Fortress Maximus and Grand Maximus are very cool (still waiting for a new Brave Maximus) and the redesigned heads are better than the originals. This interesting toy may be extras of the Legends version of the Fortress Maximus head or could be a knockoff. Still, it can fit either Titan easily. You could use him as a backup Autobot or an evil Decepticon planning to steal a Titan, but that’s up to you. Captain Kyle reviews it to see if it would fit well into your collection.

This is a KO of Fortress, who combines with the battleship Maximus to form Fortress Maximus. It was repainted into Grand (with Gran being the smaller Headmaster) to go with the Grand Maximus version of the release.
I think there's something about Cerebro in The Rebirths as well, but who watches that terrible American cartoon? :)

I think between the US and Japanese releases, wasn't one Spike and the other Emissary? The US Cerebros was more screen accurate but the Japanese Fort Max body was more screen accurate. Ended up buying the Takara version and then finding a US Cerebros on Ebay.

Apparently, there are some offered with and without the gun. This was only $17, and there was no gun.
