    I'm milling constantly with both single arm (30lbs) and doubles (45lbs). My shoulder and t-spine mobility have greatly improved along with my core and overall strength. I do a lot of clubbell flows where I'm moving with the heavy club as well. Rotating into various lunges and squats. Those have taken my core strength and dynamic stability to a whole other level. I'm 59 years young and strong like bull 😂😂😂 thanks to heavy clubs, heavy maces, kettlebells and landmine training. Both Landmine University and Purmotion methodology. I flow heavy with EVERYTHING and it has been a game changer for me.

      @MarkWildman I actually have a few videos of me up trying with the thing. I'm making good progress. I just watch your videos and try to do my best. I'm in it for a year with this club. No worries. I wrote myself a little strength and conditioning program inspired by Dan Jon and one Mark Wildman Hevay club skill work is built into it, and I'm starting next week.

    Have been trying since a few videos back to buy a club via the site you recommend. They are out and have been for a while. I was wondering if you or anyone else may sell the same type. I would like to get one since i feel even just working with a club to start is a good start if anything. Any recommendations?

      Just looked, the fat handle and the Wildman handle are both available. Unless you have a small hand, the fat handle (1.2" dia) should work very well. The standard Adex handle (1" dia) can feel pretty thin. Been swinging the fat handle for almost a year and it's perfect. Not too chunky, not too thin.

      @@froinlaven71 When I first looked at the site i only found the three clubs. I went back and looked again and I found the ones you are talking about. Thank you for the heads up. Only one question, how do you determine the proper handle length to get? Does it even matter? Thanks again.

    • @froinlaven71

      @@robertedwards7749 In this video, Mark's swinging the club. I feel it's the most versatile. He has endless videos on clubs as well as a couple programs and there are a whole lot of other programs out there from others as well. Heck, Adex has their own club programs now.
      Mace can definitely be good and there are certainly things you can do, but you sort of need space to swing a mace. And the weight is going to be lighter because the lever is longer.
      The Arc is halfway between them. Sort of like a short mace. It's good for use inside if you want to do mace, but don't have the space.

    If the near-side cast portion of the mill mimics natural throwing patterns well, what is it that the shield-cast is doing to prepare for what is already a natural throwing pattern? Why not get straight into mill low weight / mobility prep work?
    Sincere question.

    • @MarkWildman
      @MarkWildman  6 месяцев назад

      The shield cast is directly mimicked off of the shielding motion of blocking your head from an overhead downward, 45° strike. And then recasting into a strike.. it is the most basic move taught most forms of sword-based kung fu

      @@MarkWildman a move in its own right, but also useful as preparation for others, thanks

  • @esteban8183
    @esteban8183 10 месяцев назад

    I know that in the video you include the shield cast as a base for the mill prep but it seems like for the actual mill, the movement appears to be more of a pullover with a rotation, is that correct? Or is it definitely more of a shield cast with a rotation? Am I splitting hairs here or missing something?

    • @MarkWildman
      @MarkWildman  10 месяцев назад +2

      A shield cast goes past the opposite ear, a 180 pull over goes past the same side ear
      A meal prep is an inside circle with a shield cast
      A male is an inside circle with a 180 pull over
