    I’ve been using Crystalac products for 2 years. I used to do tumblers with it but now I do fluid art and continue using it for sealing my art pieces. Great products, great US company!

    Great video and information. I have never used regular epoxy. I only use Art Resin which is also non-toxic and food safe but will definitely try Crystalac since you recommend it. Thanks again.

    Great stuff! I use my finger to spread since it's non-toxic. Hardens great. It's also used for guitars, so you know it's durable :)

    I have a lot of CrystaLac products, and they’re all great! Although I don’t use the products instead of epoxy on my tumblers, I do use the Extreme Protection to seal the decals on them. I’m using the rest of the products on a bass guitar that my son and I are building together. I also used their pigments to mix a custom paint color for the repurposed (formerly) built-in entertainment center that we bought to use as storage in my studio.

      Please remember that this is likely not a food-safe, FDA-approved finish for contact with food items. Further research would be prudent.

    It says polyurethane - do you think you could sublimate on it?

    • @HelloImAru
      @HelloImAru 2 года назад

      I know this is an older post, but it's not advised. The owners say that you don't want to use heat on Crystalac in that manner, so sublimation would not be compatible.

    I have birds and lizards in the house so I can't use epoxy at all! Birds especially have delicate respiratory systems and can die quite suddenly from fumes. This is why they would carry canaries into the mines. They would die before a human Can smell or notice a smell. And most captive reptiles die from respiratory distress or respiratory infection. So this product sounds great!thanks four the video! I will look forward to future videos as you continue to use it and get time to learn more of the long haul details too! Thank you again!

  • @arlineology

    I have been using this and love it. When you buy directly through the original website, you get personal communication from the owners. In the end, it is as hard and durable as epoxy. You do many more coats but they are thinner and use less product in the long run than epoxy, and you can do the next coat after only 4 hours. The one thing I do not like about the product is not being able to use alcohol inks in the wet coat. You can "paint" it in between layers, but not as a part of the coat. Crystalac can be applied with your bare hand, saving on the amount of rubber glove and plastic cup waste.

    Lovely, was just looking at this earlier, had seen it recommended a lot. So, how is the hardness? Does it scratch easily, hold fingerprints, etc? Will it get tacky? I was using UV resin and don't have a good ventilation system so worried about the toxins. Would really love a product with little to no smell and no scentless toxic fumes as well. Thanks for the great video.

    • @dcaldwell97

      hey... I have been using it for almost a year... it has a great hardness to and does not scratch easily. It doesn't get tacky as it is not mixed with 2 parts... I highly recommend to search RUclips for tutorials... I am not sure if I can mention those sites here or not... Also FaceBook has several great groups that give tutorials in their guide section... I recommend searching for the official Crystalac group to start! I use it in my house with no ventilation or PPE needed (unless sanding)

    I am here because I watch all your videos :)
    I have not heard of Crystalac. I am dying to know if it is food safe, dishwasher safe... dare i ask microwave safe?
    Seems like applying it to a mug or tumbler may be problematic though if it needs to sit level so the crystalac can settle into level.

    • @stacyminnick5429
      @stacyminnick5429 3 года назад +1

      It Is not dishwasher, microwave safe. Neither is epoxy. You apply such thin coats that you should not have any pulling if doing correctly. It is great for tumblers.
