Sorry for the weird audio following 8:40. Had to use RUclipss copyright music removal system to remove the song from the clip at 8:40. Then the rest of the videos audio was lowered in quality. Im sorry guys!
I never knew this even existed...I guess the world wasnt ready for this CGI series at the time. Maybe it was because of high animation costs that it was never green lit. I was happy with the 2003 turtles and glad we got that!
And the cgi series wasn't gonna be a series, it would be a movie instead and made by Digital Infinity aka Rainbow Studios who would make Ark in 2005 with a South Korean studio instead.
If you take a look at the toy commercials from the 2003 series you can see that the same little CGI style work is used for the turtles at the beginning and end of this unreleased series animation 🐢
I agree. While the TMNT franchise would have to wait until 2007 to get its first all-CGI adaptation, the 2003 series proved traditional animation was still alive and well at the time.
I love this animation cgi and their designs but, oh my god just imagine if this was animated as a cartoon with their designs. Like a cartoon of the original comics. Would've been amazing
Leonardo 2003 dope video I did a review of the 2003 set a year ago . Ima big fan of the 2003 series. We should do a video together about the ninja turtles. Be sure to subscribe to speekgeek unlimited
Fun fact: At around 5:32, you can catch a glimpse of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre as the camera rotates. How unfortunate as the year this pitch was made (2001) was the same year they were destroyed.
This was awesome but th cg animation made it feel kinda like a mock buster film Wile that 2d animatic actually felt much nicer to look at and had a cool comic book feel to it wich could have worked better if this was a full tv show
Whoa, this is the first time I'm seeing this old CGI series pitch, it actually looks kinda cool. I love the 2003 series a whole bunch, but I kinda wish this one happened too!!!
@@poemboigenesis4435 Yes but the turtles were originally written for the late teenage-adult readers and now basically nothing comes out ninja turtle wise for that audience, kind of a bummer as it was a pastiche of superhero comics and in today's world we very much need a show or movie like that because everyone is getting bored of the cookie cutter superhero stuff. The only thing i can think of that is like what the turtles should be today is the tick on amazon, that was a kids cartoon back in the day and this new series is aimed at adults but keeps the same style as the original.
*Shredder's proto design:* Mirage and 1987 show mixed. I like it. *Foot elite's proto design (supposed):* In line with grunts of the Foot, kasa hat is most notable difference here.
Three great pilot videos you could tell that this series deserve a comeback before the 2003 series. I even love the character designs in the end they were trying to stick true to original comics.
I didn't know that there was 2001 version until now... If only if this version wasn't cancelled, I would've loved the TMNT series more than I already have...
Also rainbow studios the animators of this canceled show are actually game developers. Not sure if they exist now but they made Disney Pixar‘s cars the video game and..... I don’t remember much about them!
The 2D concept art looked so good! I'd love to see the turtles animated that way, like for a short / special or something today. The subtle shape language for the turtles is very satisfying. Obviously the 3D is dated, but jimmy neutron works and it's another early 00's cgi adventure cartoon, so I can see this working. I'd never give up the 03 show we got though of course
I like the hand-drawn concept art - it's very much like the original comics, which isn't the route any of the cartoons has taken. The CGI was only so-so, but than again "Beast Wars" didn't fare much better in that department and the show was still pretty good, so... It's a bit of a shame this didn't come to fruition, but 2003 series was awesome (easily the best Turtles toon to date), so there's always that...
The TMNT 2001 animated TV pilot’s art/animation style and it’s concept art that was also used in those two Raphael animatics in both 2D and 3D look so faithful to the early mirage turtles most classic design that I honestly wish that there’d be a Paramount+ Original that could create a spiritual successor to that unsold 2001 pilot by making more like Batman: the Brave and the Bold since that Batman cartoon series was a lot more faithful to Bob Kane’s iconic golden age design for Batman while having him do crossover team ups with golden and silver age iterations of older and forgotten superhero making cameos in that golden age style Batman cartoon. Only this time, they should have Eastman and Laird styled iterations of the more old school turtles team up with other old and forgotten mirage and crossover heroes in that TMNT: The brave and the bold style universe as well. As for what the Brave and the Bold inspired TMNT title should be… I haven’t really thought that far ahead to imagine what it would be called, but it’s a fun wishful thought to have, that’s for sure.
4:17 "They shall face things not of this earth" "What the heck are those?!" "I dunno. but they're not of this earth." legendary dialogue guys, great work.
Nice vid. I like the videogame style music included at the end. I enjoy these 3D models alot more than the Nickelodeon series for 2012 or whatever. April is also way better as an adult imo. The crude CGI has a unique quality now, reminds me of the spider-man mtv cgi show a little bit. Would love to see future designs that are more like this and the original fred wolf cartoon design, with more rounded organic looking shapes and less stylized geometric shapes like the ones in the more recent nickelodeon designs, if that makes sense.
A shame we'll never get anything like this; not with Nickelodeon owning the IP. All they want to do is make arrogant iterations; basically fixing something that ain't broken.
I heard both "the feel of wind" and the theme song of "Antz" in the first animatic and the animation test had the Matrix's versions Rob Zombie's Dragula.
One of the design things I like they removed from 2003 series is that turtle's comix-referenced anger expression with shown teeth in mouth sideways. It looks decent in comix, but not in the animation.
Story : we don't have too much details about the story and it's sad it's cancelled but I'd probably give 9/10 because they are the creators of the 2003 series and the story is amazing Animation : ok it was the very start but I would give ok! 6/10 Characters : well they are nice too, better than the next mutation 😂😂😂 8/10 Overall : 8/10 this could actually be a good show and nice video anyways
I always thought this was a interesting series I'd love to see this and I like how some of the 2003 vehicles make a aperence like the battle shell and the hover boards and the design of the turtles remind me of the original comics
Leonardo 2003 I'd like to see this series get made it looks extremely interesting if also like to see tmnt 2003 reruns Nick did this on nicktoons and I wish we could see more tmnt 2003 reruns I was watching them and I felt like a kid again
This pilot felt like what the 2003 series would become.Makes me wonder how warner brothers lost the rights for 4kids to get them. It cgi considering when it was made looks alright. The timing does work for the 2003 series. 2001 was when this was made so ruefully a little over a year is about right.
If hopping to alternative timelines would be possible and available to everyone, the timeline where this show was approved and made would be the first one I would go to!
I`m quite fond of Baxter`s concept art despite looking more latino than black. He really seems like ha can pass-off as a more subtle a-wolf-in-sheeps-clothing type of character instead of a rude and bitter mad scientist. And I think it would`ve been AWESOME for the finished TMNT series, since I personally did not care for Stockman in the show (not untill that zombie episode anyway).
OH MY GOD GOOD SIR! I thought I have seen everything! spitt0110 is the instagram I do lots of tmnts myself. THAT demo animations aged VERY WELL!!!!still better than 2014 movie design
The time for this has passed I believe. But hey maybe 15 years from now to revive the series they’ll do a series like this following the comics exactly
*Wow!* Hey Leo, just a thing I noticed you might want to know, is that my notifications for your videos have the likely titles you temporarily call the videos before scheduling and stuff, so just name the videos officially when you upload so this doesn't happen. *I GOT YOU MAN!*
I believe if the show had been made it would have completely changed the timeline and prevent all these terrible Nickelodeon shows and movies from ever being made. Would have just been good stuff.
Is that James Earl Jones narrating? Also, it looks like the animation is done for some cutscenes from a unfortunately low budgeted PS2 game or something.
Sorry for the weird audio following 8:40. Had to use RUclipss copyright music removal system to remove the song from the clip at 8:40. Then the rest of the videos audio was lowered in quality. Im sorry guys!
We do not forgive.
Cool, but I don't think we missed out on anything. It was basically the 2003 series but CGI animated.
actually, I liked the 3d designs however I will say this series seemed very basic with barely anything interesting or unexpected to offer.
2003 series must’ve took a lot of inspiration from this
I'm not a fan of the CGI but the 2d designs and the animatic looked beautiful. I would have seen a whole series with that style.
But his face......
If you take a look at the toy commercials from the 2003 series you can see that the same little CGI style work is used for the turtles at the beginning and end of this unreleased series animation 🐢
I'm glad 2003 turned out great in animation
It was still the early 2000s and CGI was a huge step with very little equipment
I agree. While the TMNT franchise would have to wait until 2007 to get its first all-CGI adaptation, the 2003 series proved traditional animation was still alive and well at the time.
This seems like it would've been the 2003 show with CGI. I prefer the 2003 art style
I aslo love 2003 art style
I had no knowledge of a 2001 series. But I do like the Shredders design.
yeah, he looked pretty cool. wonder if he would have been an Utrom too
We’ll never know!
Leonardo 2003 too true
Greymon 365 I
I love this animation cgi and their designs but, oh my god just imagine if this was animated as a cartoon with their designs. Like a cartoon of the original comics. Would've been amazing
Exactly
Exactly what I thought.
The Shredder kinda looked like '87 Shredder, just with a different color scheme and more armor.
The cgi was awesome! I'm so glad they corporated some of the aspects of this into the 2003 turtles series
TMNT FOREVER wtf do you mean it looks abismol
MR. CHEESE you have the worst taste in animation, it looks like it was made by a 4 year old
MR. CHEESE go play fortnite kid
@@jacksmile6669 Why are you such an ass? He/she just stated their opinion on what they think of the C-Gi, Mr. Fancypants
I dunno. The mo cap was odd.
I can see how much it was inspired from the original comic in the animatic.
Be patient if you are viewing this video right now everyone! having audio issues with copyright but should be resolved soon!
Leonardo 2003 dope video I did a review of the 2003 set a year ago . Ima big fan of the 2003 series. We should do a video together about the ninja turtles. Be sure to subscribe to speekgeek unlimited
The concept designs for the turtles look so true to the comics... that classic teeth-gritting grin is all over their faces.
Fun fact: At around 5:32, you can catch a glimpse of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre as the camera rotates. How unfortunate as the year this pitch was made (2001) was the same year they were destroyed.
As much as I love the 2003 Ninja Turtles series, this would have been very interesting to see. The CGI hasn't aged well though.
Materge77 True. Looks like an early PS2 game.
Im happy we got 2003 tmnt instead
Whaaaaaaa I had no idea a 2001 series exists I can kind of get why it's been cancled
This was awesome but th cg animation made it feel kinda like a mock buster film
Wile that 2d animatic actually felt much nicer to look at and had a cool comic book feel to it wich could have worked better if this was a full tv show
I never heard about this TMNT show! Great video!
I’m going to be honest it looked really cool and I was upset that it was cancelled
Whoa, this is the first time I'm seeing this old CGI series pitch, it actually looks kinda cool. I love the 2003 series a whole bunch, but I kinda wish this one happened too!!!
I really wish we could see and animated series with the style of the original comics
Jaden Kindler indeed, a cartoon as close to the original comics (as possible) would be awesome.
Jaden Kindler same
@Brandon Spain What? Not everything is about Adults, kids gotta enjoy their childhood...

I wish that version TMNT was on MTV
Interesting that Mikey Kelly was going to voice Mikey in 2001 when he was still recording lines for the first Ratchet and Clank game back then.

Just subbed, love your content. You should make a video on all the cut content in TMNT 2014! That would be cool
This actually looks good
Feels kind of like 2003 and 1987 combined.
I laugh whenever Donnies staff breaks
4:17 "They shall face things not of this earth"

legendary dialogue guys, great work.
Definitely the beta version of 2003 turtle series.
Michelangelo is a gamer, confirmed.
Nice vid. I like the videogame style music included at the end. I enjoy these 3D models alot more than the Nickelodeon series for 2012 or whatever. April is also way better as an adult imo. Would love to see future designs that are more like this and the original fred wolf cartoon design, with more rounded organic looking shapes and less stylized geometric shapes like the ones in the more recent nickelodeon designs, if that makes sense.
And of course we would revisit the Turtles in CGI form in the 2012 series. Guess the world was simply not yet ready in 01.
Yes, a pilot so effective it was pitched to TV stations and succeeded twice
The song from the beginning of the video came from mutant nightmare 3 0:01
Why wasn't this a sold TV series this is really good I'm telling ya
Very interesting and informative video, thank you!
How did I miss this I didn't know it was going to be a 2001 series as a kid but nonetheless I'm glad you bring that up
The animation could be used in like a TMNT video game but the looks so perfect for the season from the starting of the video looks like a comic
Always thought the rainbow pilot and wb series were separate. Really like the April design in rainbow pilot
Only problem for me is that it was supposed to be CGI. The designes are so expressive, they would've been wasted if they were used on 2001 CGI
A shame we'll never get anything like this; not with Nickelodeon owning the IP. All they want to do is make arrogant iterations; basically fixing something that ain't broken.
I would of watched this I like the look and the tone of it
I heard both "the feel of wind" and the theme song of "Antz" in the first animatic and the animation test had the Matrix's versions Rob Zombie's Dragula.
Yeah . I wish I could reupload this and mute that song because it’s copyrighted! But it’s so awesome
The tmnt faces concept art look hand puppets tbh and its funny. Red and gold shredder is certainly an interesting choice.
One of the design things I like they removed from 2003 series is that turtle's comix-referenced anger expression with shown teeth in mouth sideways. It looks decent in comix, but not in the animation.
So true

I used to think this was a movie that was hard to find on the internet
Soooo glad we got the 2003 series instead
it feels like im watching twisted metal but with ninja turtles
😂
I wish the designs for the upcoming TMNT series looked this good.
blackphoenix77 same
It’s neat seeing that some of the art was dated on 11/26/01 since that was the day and year I was born
2:09 the music is awesome aspecally this one
I really wanted this to happen!!!
That's so cool just like the comic book it's looks better than the2003 show
The second animation got me thinking: how do these guys even get money?!?!
animation really reminds me of Spider-Man: The New Animated Series
TMNT and Casey Jones fighting Foot Ninja on top of Optimus Prime's trailor! Cool!
If they made this w/ a 2D style like the animatic, I’d love it. I’d even rather watch the animatic than cgi completely, tbh.
I always thought this was a interesting series I'd love to see this and I like how some of the 2003 vehicles make a aperence like the battle shell and the hover boards and the design of the turtles remind me of the original comics
Yup. 2003 series took a lot of ideas from this pilot.

Leonardo kinda looks like Kermit The Frog in the thumbnail.
Definitely a post-90’s show.
6:42 Janne Da Arc - feel the wind(also heard in the commercial for Rockman EXE 2)
Looks more like a video game than tv show.
I hope they will make something like this it sounds cool to watch
The time for this has passed I believe. But hey maybe 15 years from now to revive the series they’ll do a series like this following the comics exactly

1:50 that was Jeff Durbin from Apologia Church as mocap Donny!
Great video
Thanks!

Leonardo 2003 could we do a co lab about the new turtles

Thanks for the info brother
Leonardo 2003 np bro!
same for me :p
This video is turtley awesome! COWABUNGA! 🐢🐢🐢🐢💙💜❤💛

For 2001 cgi this is not that bad and the voices are amazing
Theses was very interesting and cool
I like that prototype figure of leo
Thanks for agreeing
Oh One Thing Is Also Sounds familiar TMNT In 2003 what is different what kind of soundtrack is it I really just want to know😢😢😮😮😊😊😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤ 14:22

Is that James Earl Jones narrating?
Also, it looks like the animation is done for some cutscenes from a unfortunately low budgeted PS2 game or something.
exactly what I though, this animation would be considered bad even if it was a very early ps2 game
