What it's like to walk with Elephants in South Africa

Now that we have officially completed a full loop around the western cape and seeing all the things that the Western Cape of South Africa has to offer. It was finally time to do all the things we wanted to do in the Knysna area when we were here the last time.
Walking with elephants is something that only one could dream of doing. But here at the Knysna Elephant Park, this is a reality for an everyday person. We are finally going to be able to walk with Elephants.
But before we did that, we went through the popular 7 passes which runs parallel to the N2 and is a only mine road that was popular in the 1800's due to the gold that was found in the region.
We also headed to the Storms river suspension bridge which is something we wanted to do on the Otter Trail already but did not manage to do so.

I would love to go there and visit these beautiful animals. I'm so glad that this place exists. They deserve the best life they can have, and that goes for all wildlife. They are gentle giants when treated right. They have to have you in their sight at all times. They are powerful and could accidentally hurt you. I'm so happy for these animals that they are so well cared for.

Wow, must have been epic to be that close to such magnificent creatures. And I must add that both the bridges were incredible, the walkable suspension bridge and the arch spanning the V shaped gorge.
Wish the bridge was in our otter trail hike but glad we got to see it before completing out south African road trip😁

Fun fact, those are all 'female elephants' or rather elephant cows. Elephant bulls leave the herd, while elephant cows usually herd together. Sally is not only the group's matriarch but also the reason the park opened, along with another elephant, Harry. I had the privilege to volunteer there for a week. It was totally worth every minute (or every 5 minutes lol volunteers will get it haha). The best day during that week was on a rainy day, because that's the only day we saw them play in the water and play in the mud. Rainy days are the best!

Actually Victoria falls is not in South Africa, it is on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia.
I have been around elephants but walking with elephants... that's just beautiful

hello guys! these elephants look cute, calm and friendly...but they say that they are almost untameable and in circus numbers mostly Asian, not African elephants.
We don't like it when they put animals in Circus's. This place was an orphanage and amazing place to walk next to them😍
