Great video! I just ordered a similar Fat Herbie wallet- natural shell cordovan and the blue denim on the outside, but I went with all natural shell cordovan on the inside. Your video was a great resource in making that decision. Thank you! I'd love to know how you like the patina on that Fat Herbie now that it's a year later.
I learned how to make the fat herb and Iv been enjoying customizing it with which ever leather I want. Let me know if interested. Mine are handmade And handsewn

I know you like Bison, I have purchased many of Ashland’s shell Cordovan wallets of different types .. if you haven’t already check out the Mitchell MCW they have Bison, Shell and Dublin and chromexcel cuts … but Ashland is probably the best out there but I don’t believe he carries bison
What’s that Amaretto Shell looking like now? It’s really hard to find any patina photos on that color. I’d imagine it ages a lot like Natural Shell but with more orange/gold undertones but still interested to see.
That is a nice collection you have coming along. I suggest you check out Rex Jhuang. He works with all kinds of cordovan and his craftsmanship is the absolute best out there. :)
Does the Fat Herbie fit in back pocket pants with a button so the wallet os secured in place? Was thinking of getting one of these for my dad, but they look so big.
I have a pair of chinos with a button & it fits perfectly. Herbie is great because you can sit down and it doesn’t feel uncomfortable when you’re seated. Others are so thick that it makes sitting in a chair uncomfortable but not with the Herbie. The designed is spread out to avoid any discomfort while seated. It’s the best wallet in the world.
