As soon as I saw you with these wings, I knew I had to build some, too. So I bought your pattern, and with your instructions the wings turned out amazing! Thank you so much! (Technical detail nonsense ahead) I finished building them a week or two ago, and am absolutely in love with them. I used cheap black acrylic paint instead of t-shirt paint and it dried matte black, as well as sometimes giving me splattered paint edges sometimes. My base fabric has a grey tint and the color accents are a little less vibrant (watered down acrylic paint as well). I also used steel garden wire because it was cheaper. Overall, they look a little different than yours and only half of that was even intentional, but I really love the slightly ragged edgy vibe that they got going on ^-^
Here they are! Without paint details, not assembled: imgur.com/ZI2LWKx Fully finished: imgur.com/k6tswst (I'm really sorry, I got your Name wrong when uploading them)
@@kimos3089 Hello! What size gauge did you use for your wire? Im having a hard time with size 12 but dont want to go to too low and not have them hold together.
I love the wings so much. But I was thinking that ironing the cloth first and slightly stretching it when gluing would make it more cleaner. BUT DONT GET ME WRONG! This is amazing!!!
I know this is makeup for cosplay and to change your face, but a lot of this, and in her other vids too, are great makeup tips in general to try in your own routine or just for fun/experimentation.
The transformations you put your face through amazes me. Has your significant other ever come home and not recognize you right away? So much imagination and talent in one person's head🙂
Hey, love all your videos. You helped me to win 1st place last year on my Edward Scissor Hands costume, and I also used your vid for Lestat. Can I make a request that you do Joe Exotic ~Tiger King? That is what I'm planning to be for Halloween this year. I have the clothes, I just need tips for the make-up.
As always, your makeup transformation is on point! I love the techniques you did for the wings to make them look stunning yet light. Heavy wings have been a problem for me in the past so I'll be sure to use this method for future projects!
Hi Alyson i'm a big fan of you and your work. I'm a cosplayer myself and a fellow costume maker. You have inspired me to make wonderful and authentic costumes. I just made a cowl of Pirate Owlman out of cardboard and Duct tape. I used your method of pattern making and I thank you for inspiring fans like me who are just starting out. I love your Vignette costume, Make-up and Wings Tutorial. Stay safe and stay crafty. P.S my favorite costume you've made is practically all of them.
Haha same! It's so hard to pick when every costume is so true to life and breathtaking. Although I will say I am partial to Johnny Depp and Marvel, so maybe I have a bit of a favorite!! 😂
Yyooo lowkey this would work great for a Holly Shorts cosplay from the books Artemis fowl not the movie version so tots gonna use this as a guid 4 my cosplay with a lil tweak so nice ur amazing
You don’t just cosplay the character but also the actress starring in the role. Amazing how you started from scratch with the wings and let your talent guide you through the process. I’m eager for Carnival Row season 2. ❤️🌹
Brilliant wing build, and the coat was perfect, you look just like her after makeup i really loved the show and vignet , made this video even more amazing , brilliant 👏👍👌
Oh my goodness! I didn't realize how recent this tutorial was! I legit started binging the show the day you posted! Finished the next day- lol! FANTASTIC tutorial! Thank you soooo much for this. Thoroughly entertained and inspired to create!
Was trying to brainstorm ideas for creating the wings... thinking organza, puff paint, piano strings/wire (cc: Ever After)... glad to see a tutorial where the creator was on the same thought track as me.
still not entirely convinced you aren’t a shapeshifter... this is so amazing!!! those wings are so beautiful and i have absolutely no need for a pair but i want some so bad lol
Alyson, this is absolutely incredible!!! The best costumes are the ones that have the finest details that you really need to look at to notice. Really well done! Thanks for sharing, I was really looking forward to this!!! 😃
You look amazing.. as always!! Your level of craftsmanship and attention to detail is just incredible and so true to life. Also, I just got the news that HolMat is cancelled for this year- I'm super sad about it, but it's for the best. People in Florida just don't listen!! But I'll miss you 😢 Hope everything is well for next year!! Love you and stay safe!! 💖
thank you for this video, but sometimes I think they are different crafts. because quality in the process and the result are so different! it `s Magic! :)
This looks so amazing! Would you ever consider making a tutorial on how you did your Helena cosplay/makeup? I'm a huge MCR fan and I freaked out when I saw on Instagram that you cosplayed Helena!
The mosaic look of the wings is stunning I would definitely use this for a fairy costume I’ve been dying to try putting together for a party but I would still wear this at home it’s so pretty!
Glad to see you back, hope you're safe and well. That outfit is simply amazing - particularly the wings. You are so resourceful and have such an incredible talent!
Your tutorials are always so incredible! The results are so amazing and beautiful and yet the steps seem easy enough to follow. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work!
Clever idea for the wings. Ive been pondering on how to make the base skeleton structure of the wings but that gave me some ideas. I think for the color and shine im gonna take plastic film covering and add alcohol inks and alcohol spray to give the wings that water color look. Thanks for the video it turned out wonderful
Awwwnnnn! I love her makeup! She's so talented and so pretty! I'm very impressed how she's so attentive about the details! Sorry for the bad English and greetings from Brazil
