I just received v3,5 and it s a tremendous difference over stock. So much so I say get it immediately if you buy the gearshift, it's a must have. Just know that the kit does not come with grease, so have some silicone grease handy as it is needed for the install.
+ don't forget to get an additional replacement part when you order the base V3.5, saves you 10$ of shipping in the long run. The mod is very robust, but unfortunately not indestructible. (+get your hands on the magnet shift paddle mod by 3DRap if you use those as well)
Inside the mechanism there is a ball bearing that slips between 3 holes. The the bearing being pushed into the hole keeps it in gear, it has a spring that pushes the ball bearing against the plate into the hole, if you stretch the spring little bit or have a stronger one of similar size it makes the shifter feel stronger without the mod, its a bit of fiddle but it works
I just 3D printed a pre load... 5mm by 5.4mm (hole is 5.46mm wide and spring is around 5.2mm wide). I also 3d printed my own H Pattern mod that also has a similar tactile grab of the gear stick. It's easy to find in Google. These mods combined with a better shifter knob, really improve the shifter a lot. I can send the STL files in a package if anyone wants them. Which will give you everything you need to do both mods. All you'll need, is a couple rubber bands (optional) and 6x 10mm long M3 wood screws
2:50 Simply srew the nut on the long screw, then place it in the hex hole. Unscrew, while keeping the hex hole looking up and screw the screw in from the correct side.
Thank you very much for the detailed assembly part! Wouldn't have myself finished without it. Best mod ever tho. I use it with a longer metal shift knob and lowered the shifter stand on my rig, it's awesome.
Did the same thing with a couple elastics and some double sided tape along the inside where the shifter rod meets the plastic. Feels even better this mod and cost way less then having to 3d print or order jt.

I can see why now why a lot of people are complaining about on how these mods break so easily slamming the gear shifter into gear all the time things are bound to break easily I drive in ATS/ETS simulator no problems had my logitech shifter since 2019 and just finally got round to buying this mod
Just installed this mod myself, and I was slightly disappointed with the fit. The housing itself didn't sit perfectly in the groove where the normal retention ring for the boot cover sits. Also, the housing had to worked a bit to get the top plate into place. When it's installed though, it does provide a much more secure shifting feel. When stock, the shifter can easily pop out of gear if you accidentally bump into it even with very slight force, but now, it won't come out of gear unless you mean for it to. I'd say that for the price, it seems like a pretty good mod, and I can't wait to break it in properly.
Not to mention that the shifter now doesn't really line up into the next gear you have to fully guide it to the gear otherwise it'll pop into a random gear. Still find elastics and some foam makes it way better then this
Reverse works identical to the shifter in cars such as the Nissan 350Z and Infiniti G35, for example. Push the selector down vertically and into 6th gear, and you'll feel the added resistance from the reverse interlock, and you'll notice the shifter won't pop back up when you let go, so you'll know you're in reverse.

Glad I watched this. You convinced me NOT to get it. The clunking bang of the mod is completely unsettling. I got a slight extension so I could use my own knob and the gates feel more defined with the extra throw. Barely misshift. Every time you shifted with this thing it made me cringe

Would be good idea to add a felt cushion on the plate to dampen or eliminate the sound of the shifter metal rod from banging on the plate.
It doesn't hit the plate, I show this in the review. The impact is entirely on the sliding piece.

After 2 months of use the plastic top plate broke on almost every gear. The metal toplate is definitely necessary
Where can i buy this in the US? How durable is it?
would you get this one over Nox3d?

What is the name of the handbrake that you have on this video?
How's it compare to the Nox3D version you reviewed before? If you had to pick which is your preference and why?
I prefer the 3DRAP out of the two. Mainly for the stronger resistance, but I do like the gated plate too, it gives the mod a more complete appearance.
Heard it breaks pretty fast or isnt this true
So this 3DRAP kit is superior to the protec spring as far as comparing it to the real deal?
Yes I would say so

My only question, how do you go into reverse? A lot of these 3D printed mods are nice, but I don't see a channel for reverse most times, just the 6.
