3M Red Scotchbrite will work really well putting a brushed finish on clubs and shafts. I do it a lot.
If you want to keep that shine on the shaft try using 0 0 0 0 Steel wool . it wont scratch . i use it on my cars windshield , and chrome wheels. brings club shafts back to almost new looking.
I just declared your channel my favorite (and now only) "club works" source of information. Clear and well done descriptions, no annoying music, top hints. Really, marvellous work! If you have a hint on where to get a grip remover cheap including intl. postage (in Germany it costs about 45.- Euros, which is ridiculous), that would be smashing.
I have used a dremel tool with a wire brush to clean up old clubs. When I was done they looked new.
Love your channel it is a great resource, thanks
You can also sharpen the grooves with a cheap tool for more back spin
I use Turtle Wax Rubbing compound on a rag. It will polish the shaft and make it look new again. I use it on irons and driver heads, and they glisten after a polish. Green scotch brite is too abrasive. If an item is slightly pitted or rusty, then it gets the scotch brite treatment.
Took my old set of mp 32 and brought them back with some brasso polish. Took the rust off the heads and cleaned up the shafts.
When you sand down the face how much of the face milling would end up being removed, in your opinion?
I got these wedges and mine are about the same shape
Do you know if some pros shorten their Irons from standard length to fit their swing - I have the Wilson Staff V6 and feel like 6-4 irons are a bit long. If I shorten mine do I also need to switch the lie angle? FYI I’m 5’10” my 7 iron is a standard 37” in length.
Is there a way to restore face milling if it's a wedge or putter?
Why does my sandpaper seem to stain my light ferrule. Also what grit are those two specific ones you use. I also seem to not be getting much shine from the acetone. Is there anything else that can bring out the shine further. Thank you so much.
Hi i like watching your video’s and recently under took refurbing my golf clubs and found the golf iron faces not flat, over a set of iron 5 to sw the 9 iron was the only one close to being flat. Have you ever come across this. Aj england
How I clean my clubs I soak the club heads in white vinegar and salt and I clean the whole club in my sink with SOS soappads.
Nice video.....I am refurbishing my Callaway Diablos to get another year or so out of them. I noticed you didn't try to re-groove the the club, is there a reason? I have a groove tool and use it on my wedges to keep them a bit sharper.
Steel wool pad will remove the rust pitting from the shaft and restore the shine
I’ve got a ferule that’s moved away from the neck a mm or so can it be repositioned?
More time on the grooves would be good.
Just sharpen the grooves
