I think we all forgot a few things. We are not sure if Martin left because he thought Marc was getting the seat or Ducati didn't pay him what he asked.
If it was the former then Martin did the right thing. He has to make money too.
But if it was the latter then Ducati had the easiest option, getting the almost best on grid, for lesser than what Martin asked, who can also sell your merchandise, one of the strongest team in MotoGP history, may be clench the remaining 1000cc titles, whether Marc or Pecco, they still win.
Whether you like Marc or not, he's money, he's the entertainment, he's the attraction for now. Just like Rossi was, Pedro is going to be.
Although Martin ethically deserved it, the world lives on Survival of the fittest.
If Marc/Pecco do not perform well, they'll sack them too. It's a hard pill to digest.

Nothing to do with money, Ducati decided after the Mugello race it was Marquez
According to Dall’Igna nothing to do with marketing, “there’s as many fans hate Marc as love him”
It was purely a sporting decision for our aim of winning the world championship

you can't tell this to the yellow clowns. marc lives rent-free in their heads since 2015, but they forgot, that since then marc changed a lot.
You can clearly see in this year that Marc entertains regularly every weekend and not just during the races.

Marc Marquez has all the cards. Not only did he get the factory seat but all of the riders got purged except Pecco. It looks like it will be either him or Pecco unless some other manufacturer step up the game for next season.
A lot of talent and not enough seats. Martin just got unlucky circumstances. I wish him success with aprilia.

Ducati have the data and they chose Marc, they are confirming what those of us without yellow tinted glases know..that hes still the best rider on the grid. Then theres his popularity and marketing strength...when i saw Audi giving Marc a new RS6 it looked like it was always going to be Marc. Love him or hate him its definitely more spicy with Marc at the top end mising it with the 24 Ducatis

He knew Ducati wanted him, knew the plan was to put him with Pramac and keep Martin in the Factory team
He called their bluff refused to ride for Pramac
Ducati now had to give him the Factory seat or lose him, it worked
Remember this is a very calculated man, he said before all this played out he had a plan
Why would Ducati put him to Pramac if they thought Pramac was going to Yamaha
Makes absolutely no sense their main aim was to get him on their bike in 2025

I've read that Campinotti isn't happy on what's happening around. That there is sporting and personal disappointment towards Ducati. So it's possible that they would jumpship to Yamaha next year. And I think that would be great to see less Ducati bikes and Yamaha have a satellite team again to at least even out the grid and help Yamaha to sort their bike faster for having 2 extra database.

Lots of interesting things happening. Me, I don't see Martin ever winning a MotoGP title as he is too mentally weak under pressure. This showed in Moto2 as well as 2022 with the Bastianini decision - Basta 3rd, earning the title and Martin 9th (?). Last year was Martins best chance of a title and without doubt he blew it all on his own. I am not too sure if Ducati would have moved Martin if he won last year as they made a committment to Bastianini shortly after he was taken out that all he had to do was to get well and back to form for this year. With Martin jumping ship he will not get the new parts so will not get any new upgrades that Pecco and Basta will. It is even possible since Pramac is rumored to be going to Yamaha for 2025 even though they confirmed their deal with Ducati that Franki will not get anything new either.

As you have pointed out - interesting times. Here's what I think might be possible: Pramac - seeing that Yamaha seem to be moving in the right direction take the big payday and bank on that seeming improvement being continued. Vinales to Honda is career suicide given he needs a friendly environment and a bike he feels confident on to perform at his best. However Vinales on a year old Ducati at Gresini or Pramac (if they don't sign with Yamaha) seems more realistic. He might not like the feeling he will have to play 2nd fiddle to Martin next year - but if he is reassured he will get even treatment (which makes sense for Aprilia given he now knows the bike and is performing on it) I think he will stay. Ennea to Gas Gas makes sense for him since he will get works rider status there (KTM have more or less implied that will be how the 4 bikes will be equally supported). Miller does not want to be anywhere not giving him the potential to be fighting up at the front - he won't want to be playing with the tail-senders even for a massive payday; so it makes sense to go to Gas Gas if offered the chance. That would give KTM a 4 bike team of proven fast riders. That leaves Aprilia's second team - Trackhouse. It seems that Fernandez is started to find some form on the old spec bike and he is still young. The other seat is also a question mark. Here's a out of left field suggestion you guys didn't consider - Iannone. Andrea has demonstrated he is still a fast rider in WSBK and has suggested there are possibly Moto GP options open for him. Could Trackhouse be one of them? Personally I would like to see Pramac go to Yamaha; Ennea and Miller to Gas Gas; Vinales stay with Aprilia; and Joe Roberts to Trackhouse IF he keeps winning or at least making the podium; Iannone if he doesn't. Wouldn't that make for a great 2025!

I would just like to remind you all that last year once Zarco announced his move to Honda, he was not given the updates that Martin, Pecco and Bastinini got in 2H even though he was supposed to have a factory bike. Not only that, Marc have big value than Martin on market. Ducati know this person is different. Martin and Enea is very good rider but Marc is on another level.

I'm thinking that once Iannone gets a few more races in (hasn't raced in 4 years and never on those tires) he could again prove that he's still GP material and or a candidate for Bautista's seat. If Ducati had kept him instead of Dovi he might have given Marquez a harder time. You're right, he is 34 but Bautista turns 40 in November and it sounds like he may be ready to spend more time with his family. Just thought that Ducati/Pramac could get him for a relatively low salary and that he'd bring sponsors and Ducati experience to the team.

Marc would be dangerous on any top level bike, whether it be Ducati, KTM or Aprilia. He has demonstrated that he can make a difference so long as he isn't on a complete dog, Martin has not done this.
For all we know Martin on an Aprilia could just be marginally better than Maverick. He's already shown a tendency to criticise the bike, the tyres etc if things don't go his way and we've only ever seen him on THE bike to have.

    @rauly93 4 месяца назад +4

Absolutely the right decision. Marc is clearly still the best and quickest rider out there, and the most marketable without a doubt. Look at how Marc is able to compete with Bagnaia and Martin despite riding the basic GP23, not the one that Bagnaia or Martin fought for the title with. He also keeps finishing around 8s ahead of the next best GP23. Also, this is Marc's first year on a Ducati, so imagine him on the latest Ducati next year, pure domination. You simply cannot ignore all of that, especially when you have Aprilia and KTM snapping at their heels. Martin has had his chances in 2022, but he lost to Bastianini in the championship, then lost again to Bagnaia in 2023 despite riding the same bike. So he has had his chances, not to mention Martin's tantrums and ultimatums haven't helped his cause. Marc without a doubt deserves the factory ride, and with Bastianini and Martin on their way out, Bagnaia won't have other GP25s getting in between him and Marc, so it will be even easier for Marc to beat him. Marc will be cheaper cause he doesn't need money, he'll bring in more money and sponsors, and he has more potential than Martin with a year old bike and less support than Martin gets, Marc is on his pace. Absolutely no brainer, just announce it already! If and when Marc is announced, just wait and see the tantrums that Martin will throw at Ducati.

Ducati had to sign Marquez, he has clearly recovered from the injuries, and is nowhere near his ceiling, yet battling with a old spec GP23 with these great GP24's
Any team would sign him. This isnt a 40 yar old lewis they are signing. Marc is clearly still in his peak/prime window, he still has a good few years barring injuries

There are other Jorge Martins. The only other potential Marc Marquez rides a KTM. I know Jorge fans don't like to hear this. If he was as good as Marc, he would've won the championship last year. Remember 2016? You should go back and watch some GPs. Especially Argentina. Out of corners on the straights, the Honda was being swallowed up by Yamaha. Jorge Martin would never have won that year. It took Marc Marquez to win it.

We’ve literally talked about the things in the news. When the general manager of Ducati (Gigi) says that it’s a risk that Pramac might leave, surely that’s news worthy? It’s hardly fabricated when he’s actually said it.

  • @lindsayroberts3295

Surely Ducati will play dirty now with Martin because they do not want the #1 to go to another company. Like the last year the spoke to Pramac to keep Martin behind Bagnia. Ducati are a cheap company where they took advantage of all the concessions and now don't want the Japanese rivals to get concessions. Gigi and Tardosi are bad sportsmen. I truly hope Martin takes the #1 to another company.

Simple answer. They want his fame, marketability...and...they want trouble haha! Possible bs between Pecco and MM, and def Pecco's teacher Rossi won't be exactly excited for next year. Hopefully MM doesn't have another mind blowing crash and destroys any of his previous surgeries, or that could also be an issue.
