Aaliyah is one of my favorite singers and artist. She was so beautiful and talented. I was so hurt when she died.
I was 11/12 when she died and my parents were afraid to tell me. My whole room was full with posters of her. I heard about her death a few days later in the car radio and cried the entire time and when I came back home I wrote letters for her, put them in an envelope and threw them from the balcony with the hope it arrives at her in heaven 😭

I was 9. My mom told me and held me and I’ve never been the same since. I had posters and albums too. She was on my birthday cakes. I was obsessed and I still am.

I don’t understand why y’all have to put down Beyoncé in order to lift up Aaliyah 🙄 weird af Beyoncé’ was already a superstar when Aaliyah tragically passed.. I believe Aaliyah would’ve had a career on par with Beyoncé but done completely different as she was getting ready to take over the acting world.

She had a tour to do while her movies were doing their thing.. my girl was really taking over. Beyoncé would’ve never had the chance she would’ve been in Aaliyah shadow. She was a group member. There was no .. BEYONCÉ as a brand. There was Destiny’s Child. Aaliyah had the solo female hip hop singer/dancer/actor title down pact. I feel the trajectory of the whole world shifted after she left. It saddened the whole universe.

This was such a tasteful short documentary. Aaliyah was sure right about causing confusion with her fans with Aaliyah (2001), I remember watching 'We Need a Resolution' back in 01 for the first time and being completely sure MTV messed up the video credits, just could not believe it was her and since then has been my best Aaliyah song and video👍.
I'm so happy that her music has finally been given back to us, all of her fans across the world. I know she would be so unhappy knowing that her fans couldn't listen and appreciate her music any artist would! It's been so long but its like we have her back now. Of course i wish she were here for real, Aaliyah you are never forgotten, you are always missed and loved. Your fans are always here to celebrate you! RIP 🙏

When I saw queen of the damned, I thought she was THE most beautiful female I had ever seen hands down.
I remember when it was first announced on the news that her plane crashed. It was such a sad day.
I don't mean any harm however, i think all the music with or by R Kelly should be off the list! Let this woman music and legacy shine! She deserves that much!
I don’t ... that’s part of her legacy is her first album, Which is a classic. Even after that situation with R.Kelly she continued to promote that album and sing the songs and go on tour. I love and appreciate ALL Aaliyah’s music. Even the first album. R Kelly produced it but he ain’t the one singing the songs. It’s Aaliyah we hear NOT HIM.

I known it doesn’t seem like it now cause people underestimate her absence. But people were shocked when they heard her death. It was so abrupt on a random day that it didn’t feel real. But people were hurting over the loss of such a cool dope rare personality like hers. I saw a list of the 10 most saddest female deaths in entertainment and she was number 2. I had a feeling when seeing the list and was so glad. The women in that group were believed not only for their talent or character but because of their likable nature and quality. She had both.
The price of fame is ..stiff. In R.Kelly's trial, 2021, there is nothing angelical about such a beautiful looking gal with a honey mellow voice. Sorry AAliya, yes, RIP. all I have to say.
She would have been beyond beyonce had she lived today.

I can't imagine what she went through at such a young age OMG it's too much. It must have been so much stress and pain and it was NOT her fault! But she still thrived and that's amazing, she truly impacted the music industry...very inspiring.

Every time I think about the way she passed, I can't help but be angry- who would argue to board a plane when they are being told it was over the weight limit- and you have such a valued celebrity on board who is afraid to fly to boot! Who would push this and why... it's so disheartening to think of all of those people dying....Obviously the issue with the plane was big enough that it caused a good deal of attention, including Aaliyah refusing to get on. Why would her management team not just send a bigger plane, or take off some of the equipment to fly separately. It makes no sense. Can you imagine someone trying to get Beyonce on an overloaded plane?
