When I play DPS I'm a Sombra main. Almost always have least damage among DPS. Damage is not her forte it's efficiency of elims and just being an all around nuisance to the backline
I think the most offensive thing abt this is how little value they got out of their soldier, and yet they decided to blame Sombra. It's bronze 5, so ofc it isnt good or efficient gameplay, but at most i'd say they're mid silver. Good for somebody who's new.
All other bronze dps usually sit and shoot at the tank, so their dps numbers are inflated. Bet if everyone played more like ppl play Sombra, they wouldn't have that much damage
Sombra isn't a 'killing machine' that ends the games with tens of thousands of damage. She is meant to support your team in getting kills. She will get kills where and when she can. This sombra was a decent example for bronze 5 but hacking helps a lot (especially in stealth).
Easy tip for this sombra to be more efficient on dives; you can hack while unstealthing. It’ll give you away a little sooner but you’ll get a kill much more often with a free hack.
So a tip for anyone trying out sombra, if someone is isolated you can hack while coming out of stealth. So the moment they are hacked your ready to shoot right away.
@@AarPlays Yes, basically if you hack and unstealth at the same time, the hack will be finished the moment your done coming out of invis. Which means you can start shooting right away.
Bronze level they always say "sombra throwing" because the damage output isnt as high as the other DPS which literally is getting pocketed and boosted by a mercy while only shooting the tank. Doesnt matter if the Sombra is on 50 kills and the other DPS on 5, if the damage number is lower she obviously isnt doing her job. Drives me nuts when I see it and I know they are doing damn well on the Sombra and really carrying the team.
This reminded me of something funny. Had a triple stack complaining I wasn't doing much damage as a widow when my elims are 30+ and 3x their dps friend.
I only saw this once or twice but as a sombra, never engage a bastion in assault form. 9/10 times you’ll get rolled, and he has an additional 20% damage reduction on top of his armor’s 30% Hack the bastion when he’s in recon and shoot him then, it’s harder for him to hit shots that way and he’ll take a lot more damage Even if he has assault on cooldown, still hack. Bastion has a lot of hp and you gotta kill him before his team backs him up
what’s good about sombra against bastion is that bastion pretty much loses the 1v1 all the time, but you can also easily bait out his assault form if he uses it too early in a 1v1, just tp out and you got a slow, confused bastion who’s even easier to kill now. If he uses assault mode mid 1v1, he’s also easy to kill cuz there’s a brief animation where he gets into it, meaning he’ll probably die before he gets the chance to shoot u. The main thing to note down against a bastion is to always go for the head. Even when he is in assault mode. Sombra can easily catch bastion off guard. She’s also able to chase him down when he uses his ult.
Getting him to turn around in assault form is good though, you don't have to win. Plus you're wasting some of the Bastion's assault form uptime. Maybe even saving a teammate from him, unless he commits while you're shooting him in the back crit. You can instantly teleport out with I-frames if he's about to get you in his sights. I wait until I see him shooting at someone else then hack, and hide to see what he does with the wall hacks, then I shoot him in the back if it's available and hes not seeking me out. (Don't always have to hack just read the situation.) Getting anyone to just turn around is instant value you just took their attention from the team fight, and your team is maybe shooting them in the back, if not fighting against the undistracted opponents. So I wouldn't say to "never" go for the assault Bastion, but to have the option open for a well thought out, and timed engagement. Nobody has to be eliminated, you can just annoy. Of course there may be a more valuable target or play, but we're talking about engaging Bastion here not anyone else.
i feel like the stats we can see for the whole team should be unique to the hero and not the same stats for everyone im sure ppls tone would change on sombra if we could see how many enemies shes hacked or the dmg shes done to hacked enemies rather then just over all dmg, like dmg mit doesnt need to be a stat we can see for everyone but might be important for heroes like rein or dva and such
5:51 should have counted towards "ability used after it should've been used", because the sombra could've used translocator to avoid the mag grenade but didn't until after taking the damage.
For those wondering, its not worth it to hack squishies. The duration of hack is so long it actually lets targets know youre there, and with the new cas nade if you hack he's going to nade you, slow you by 30% and turn off your tp, then 2 tap headshot you. Hacking is good for tanks, interrupting ults, or giving walls to the team especially widow. Additionally, not hacking healthpacks is a low elo move to prevent the enemies from seeing the hacked pack and pushing it to find the translocator. You shouldn't hack health packs near your locator unless you think youre going to tp back before they naturally come up. Example at 19:05 they would 100% know the locator was there if it was hacked Also 7:50 she didnt turn around because of all the audio happening. Even being shot at, the dynamic audio in this game can be really hard to pinpoint. The hack though? Dead give away she was being shot by Sombra.
2:58 LMFAO emongg when he realizes low elo supports don’t even heal, i didn’t get healed until i reached diamond tbh, that’s when support’s begin to actually have skill and know who’s low
So this is where Emongg not actually playing the character comes a bit into play because of nuance. You actually don't hack people before you shoot them most of the time as you get higher up (unless you are trying to make the enemy tank's life miserable). Hacking people when they aren't in a bad situation/solo and NEED their abilities to get out of it (think Mei towards the front and she is obviously going to ice wall/block) is just a way to give people time to react to you. Even if your aim is cracked hacking people first unless you are on high ground or something just gives people time to shoot you first. So most of the time you actually DON'T want to hack people first. You can put more damage onto them before they even start looking at you most of the time unless they really been drinking Mountain Dew and Doritos.
Tbf not hacking before going for the kill is kind of smart. Hacking someone literally just turns all their crosshair towards you most of the times it feels like
One thing people don't talk about enough on Sombra is that the more you utilize her kit, the less value she has (being invis or TP far away from the fight gets no value, you might as well be dead). Sombras need to focus a lot more on having high uptime more than anything else.
Huh. I'm a diamond Sombra main and the thing that stands out to me is the lack of hacking and the leaving immediately. It's not just leaving, it's because the translocator is parked by a health pack. If it was closer to the fight, teleporting out when full health could have a purpose. But they just leave for no reason at all.
20:55 oml I can't count the number of times I've gone in for what should be a perfect assassination except I forgot to reload and have three bullets left
To be fair this was way better than the usual replays we see. His aim is OK and his decision making needs improvement, but he can get out of bronze easily. It's hard to expect follow ups on Sombra's ult tho.
honestly if this sombra hacked a bit more, and didn't teleport out at full HP, the only real thing to work on is aim, which is a skill you just have to train for, keep grinding! you got this!
I'm only a freeplay scrub Sombra but from that point of view I definitely do understand them not hacking that much. When you have bad aim (like myself) it's beneficial to have that element of surprise, especially if they also got their team mates nearby it's gonna alert them to your presence as well, I find hacking to be most useful when you're fighting with your team mates and/or you're trying to get damage on the tank. Though sometimes it is useful to have the enemy to turn their attention away at you as well.
People see the numbers on the board and immediately assume skill levels. It's hilarious to see after how long the games been out people haven't realized the board is almost pointless to determine skill level. Almost. I'm new new(kiriko pass I started playing) and I've realized that pretty quick. It's so easy to farm damage and shoot whoever is already low to finish them off for easy eliminations. I proved it with moria one day dropping 40+ kills with my Genji who did the same. But all I did was touch everyone he was already killing 🤷♂️ Stats said I'm a top 500 in a gold lobby that game. I'm definitely not remotely close to that. Stats are basically irrelevant during the game.
I hope the person that submitted this ended up watching live or the RUclips after to listen and learn from what Emongg saying. Cuz there’s a few simple changes that could drastically improve this player’s games
Low elo are the kings of, "Let me check the scoreboard to see who has the smallest numbers because they are to blame." while simultaneously turbo feeding themselves. But I have most damage! ooga booga
While not perfect, the Sombra was actually not too bad (definitely nothing to complain about at this elo in comparison) Better than many of the Sombras I’ve played with. By the title, I was expecting a Sombra that was like 5and12 with 2k damage. This Sombra at least got picks.
@@i_albanna I get called out a lot as well, it’s like I’m always ready to take blame when I’ve done nothing and swap, always, but when I’m hacking ults and killing supports and the other 4 on my team are dead off cooldown then I gotta know why it’s my fault lol

I'm guessing this person watches Questron, cause it seemed that they implemented some of his tips like not hacking healthpacks, and not hacking targets unless it's necessary to out-DPS the healing they receive
I’m a console Masters player, and I do play Sombra often, I tend to not even have a lot of dmg, but I have lots of elims and assist, Sombra is about her kit, not dmg, if you can keep on killing one person on the enemy team they you make it a 5v4 because you can then tp back and hack someone, in my lobbies I get yelled at to switch off Sombra but yet I’m not going to because I have the most elims and assist, just because I don’t have dmg doesn’t mean I should switch, people need to understand that elims>dmg
Sombra needs to know better the map (specially where to leave the translocator), enemy cooldowns and position off-angle. The firsts 2 mins were legit camping the Widow. You can watch Fitzyhere or Questron for some great tips on Sombra.
Which is a great strat if that Widow would otherwise be wrecking the team. The value of Sombra is not only getting a lot of kills/damage, but the distraction factor of a dps or support by keeping them occupied and off most team fights. It is amazing the amount of people that do not comprehend this.
I don’t think they realise their teammates don’t do increased dmg to hacked targets bc they’d emp then leave and expect their team to do something with it
This Sombra played really well for bronze 5. I think i am noticing some panic aiming when behind enemy lines? And some missed hacks... But overall they did their job as Sombra including making the enemy widow switch lol
There is difference between meaningful damage and high damage. A bastion should get loads of damage from turret form trying to melt tanks as a sombra you normally just have elimination damage.
Been watching Fitzy's sombra for months now and looking at this bronze gameplay kinda hurts me a lil bit. Personally, I have good game mechanics and I can play sombra fairly well and understand her true potential, but man does it hurt seeing other sombra players not utilising her to her fullest.
Man asks why he’s still in bronze. Yes he was doing decently on Sombra, but that was because it’s Bronze. Players won’t even shoot at someone standing right in front of them, and if they do they miss. If you want to climb as Sombra then you need to always have a plan beyond hack-shoot-translocate. This man doesn’t have a single strategic thought going through his noggin. He’s getting away with it, but it’s stopping him from climbing and always will.
You may get a lot of damage but that damage will be just drilling the tank the whole game who gets healed right away or you may get 2 picks and push the team back, in this rank also possibly staggering them and cause them to 2-3v5 the whole game🙃
Tip for bronze sombra's if the person youre hacking is the person you want to shoot. Start hacking and, while you're hacking, start shooting. You'll come out of invisibility faster and will be able to shoot quicker Also, don't hack zen's or widowmakers. You can burst them down easy without hacks. If you see a zen in your game, you're eating 🤤
There's like this certain class of dps in my mind that don't do insane damage. Somba, tracer, Cassidy, widow, hanzo some others who don't play like the massive damage output but like play this assassin game trying to pick off targets one by one
The frustration with sombra as a teammate that i think they have that i also have at times is that fkrnlargr stretches of the game you are basically playing 4v5 and the sobra isnt aiding inthe team fight and you need someone to just put damage on the other team. If the sombra is just getting 1 pick every 2 teleport attempts and only contributing to the team fight with an ult every ince and a while its just not enough in most matches. Even jf you get 1 pick all you are doing is just making it a 4v4 team fight except they still have way more damage output. And killing 1 support doesnt matter as much because they dintnhave to heal as much because you arent damaging anyonw else.
i thnk the reason they are stuck in bronze is because the system sees them not using hack. which at the end of every match that is tracked over multiple stats for her. i bet if they just start hacking more they will move up to low gold.
not hacking the widow is actually a better strat because you can just line your crosshair on her head and get a bunch of damage into the headshots anyway where as the hack gives the enemys a second to react
As an Ana main, i feel like if there was a Sombra trying to kill me without hacking I'd die a lot more since I have less time to react and go for the sleep.
This blows my mind lol, I've been playing a lot of sombra last few weeks and I'm hacking non-stop. At the very least you can keep a support from doing any support by just hacking and distracting. And if you gonna shoot someone, hack them first so it's quicker to kill em. If they had a RMB they'd have dominated the game
I'm a fellow Bronze 5 DPS player, and they will get to Silver on Sombra if they just hack consistently. Even if you just hack the tank every time, a long as you don't feed and die, you'll make it in 10 wins TOPS

When I play DPS I'm a Sombra main. Almost always have least damage among DPS. Damage is not her forte it's efficiency of elims and just being an all around nuisance to the backline
Yeah, we know, this Sombra didn’t do that either though.
@@Fucklifedeadshit true I'm just trying to ease the mind of the player with them being bronze 5 XD
@@VargonDraxar they'll stay bronze 5 if people aren't real with them
I think the most offensive thing abt this is how little value they got out of their soldier, and yet they decided to blame Sombra.
So basically trigger de-stealth and hack immediately after/at the same time and the hack will go off at the same time you can shoot? Huge if true
Yea low-damage dps heroes get a lot of shit in the metal ranks. Not every hero is a Junk or Bastion smh
This reminded me of something funny. Had a triple stack complaining I wasn't doing much damage as a widow when my elims are 30+ and 3x their dps friend.
Saw someone cooking our widowmaker for low dmg but she was getting headshots. Like dawg 200 dmg instantly leaves no time for them to be healed 💀
'i had more damage' and 3 kills, it wasn't effective
Yeah, bronze flaming isn't a good indicator of anything
0:53 purple dagger, I liked the video, where is my cookie 👀
I only saw this once or twice but as a sombra, never engage a bastion in assault form. 9/10 times you’ll get rolled, and he has an additional 20% damage reduction on top of his armor’s 30%
Hack the bastion when he’s in recon and shoot him then, it’s harder for him to hit shots that way and he’ll take a lot more damage
Even if he has assault on cooldown, still hack. Bastion has a lot of hp and you gotta kill him before his team backs him up
You can beat a bastion in assault form but you cant hack and you have to be confident in hitting his crit
what’s good about sombra against bastion is that bastion pretty much loses the 1v1 all the time, but you can also easily bait out his assault form if he uses it too early in a 1v1, just tp out and you got a slow, confused bastion who’s even easier to kill now.
Eventually this letter number essay is going to become a letter number thesis
i feel like the stats we can see for the whole team should be unique to the hero and not the same stats for everyone im sure ppls tone would change on sombra if we could see how many enemies shes hacked or the dmg shes done to hacked enemies rather then just over all dmg, like dmg mit doesnt need to be a stat we can see for everyone but might be important for heroes like rein or dva and such
Health pack hacking is such a trap lmao
omg the ana nanoing the kiriko that left her to die 😂😂
that kiriko didn’t peel for her at all and just watched her die it irritated me so much 😭 as a masters support i always peel for my second support
Example at 19:05 they would 100% know the locator was there if it was hacked
Also 7:50 she didnt turn around because of all the audio happening. Even being shot at, the dynamic audio in this game can be really hard to pinpoint. The hack though? Dead give away she was being shot by Sombra.
I think the bastion ulted that doorway because his team pinged it and thought the sombra was there
the way chat bullies him for saying aftuh😂😂😂
"Die to a random Moria orb" should be a card
I feel like hack before attack is situational based on who you're attacking and player position.
@emongg you can check team stats if you spectate a specific team instead of spectating all
THE RESIDENT EVIL 5 SOUNDS WERE GIVING ME FLASHBACKS
I'm only a freeplay scrub Sombra but from that point of view I definitely do understand them not hacking that much. When you have bad aim (like myself) it's beneficial to have that element of surprise, especially if they also got their team mates nearby it's gonna alert them to your presence as well, I find hacking to be most useful when you're fighting with your team mates and/or you're trying to get damage on the tank. Though sometimes it is useful to have the enemy to turn their attention away at you as well.
Emongg saying “huge emp” over and over 😂
People see the numbers on the board and immediately assume skill levels.
But all I did was touch everyone he was already killing 🤷♂️
Stats said I'm a top 500 in a gold lobby that game. I'm definitely not remotely close to that. Stats are basically irrelevant during the game.
Moira on the enemy team was a Frontline support there for a bit. But it didn't get marked off.
But I have most damage! ooga booga
I'm here for the content but emongg's reactions are a welcome bonus 😄❤
perfect, right on time again....................... lunch time watch
Damn i just realized that the page to show the bingo board/card is a dnd character sheet
The Sombra is alright, just need trigger discipline, also hack health packs and targets
While not perfect, the Sombra was actually not too bad (definitely nothing to complain about at this elo in comparison) Better than many of the Sombras I’ve played with. By the title, I was expecting a Sombra that was like 5and12 with 2k damage. This Sombra at least got picks.
I watched this before (not on upload) but I'm watching it again just because Steam Gardens is such a treat.
Legit i kept thinking "omg just throw a virus!!" Then realized when this video came out....
Bro was playing running simulator out there
Hell yes!
I love the bingos and I can’t wait to see the sombra do nothing as usual /s
lmao as a sombra main, I get called out for doing nothing all the time. it’s sad 😭
@@i_albanna I get called out a lot as well, it’s like I’m always ready to take blame when I’ve done nothing and swap, always, but when I’m hacking ults and killing supports and the other 4 on my team are dead off cooldown then I gotta know why it’s my fault lol
@@Waffl3B1T THIS!! bro I hate it when my teams losing and there’s always that one person that NEEDS to blame our loss on someone. 99% of the time they blame me and 99% of the time I’m doing fine and I’m not throwing. They just blame me cuz I’m playing sombra and I don’t shoot the tank 24/7
@i_Albanna not to mention most of the time if the sombra is doing bad its cause the team is bad. Sombra really leans on her team for follow ups and if your team has the collective iq of a walnut then they probably won't follow up
@@LotteLattes this!! Just played a diamond 4 game, I was sombra, had Winton genji Ana lucio on my side, no one wanted to follow up on anyone or dive. I had a sad.
Bro once I was playing mystery heros I was sigma and I kept on getting randomly hacked and sometimes shot at.. eventually I developed a braincell and started shooting my attack since it bounces off of stuff and explodes so I eventually got the sombra lol
Tip: Before blaming somone for not having enough dmg, look at their hero. (a winston will probably have less dmg than orisa, tracer less than junkrat.)
2:06 This is why that Cass is in Bronze.
What is the background music? I feel like I know it but I cannot place my finger on it! It's killing me!
7:20 WHY DIDN'T YOU HACK THE MOIRA. 😭
F1 or reading the ow wiki is verry helpful before playing a hero lol
I don’t think they realise their teammates don’t do increased dmg to hacked targets bc they’d emp then leave and expect their team to do something with it
Sorry, new here, but what is the super long bingo square?
I love how the text for "Not getting on the objective" keeps getting longer and longer
This is the person that’s like “nah-uhhh you suck”
oh trust me bronze 5 is EXTREMELY deep. it's the
This Sombra played really well for bronze 5.
As a Hanzo main who almost always gets rolled by sombra, it makes me feel good every time I see this sombra die
I love this Sombrero gameplay I didn't know she had a scope
Man asks why he’s still in bronze. Yes he was doing decently on Sombra, but that was because it’s Bronze. Players won’t even shoot at someone standing right in front of them, and if they do they miss. If you want to climb as Sombra then you need to always have a plan beyond hack-shoot-translocate. This man doesn’t have a single strategic thought going through his noggin. He’s getting away with it, but it’s stopping him from climbing and always will.
That emp was huge!! Everyone below 50hp and ur team just dropped it😢
You may get a lot of damage but that damage will be just drilling the tank the whole game who gets healed right away or you may get 2 picks and push the team back, in this rank also possibly staggering them and cause them to 2-3v5 the whole game🙃
What's the bingo in the 4th row down all the way on the right say?
what’s the music in the background it got a vibe to it
Tip for bronze sombra's if the person youre hacking is the person you want to shoot. Start hacking and, while you're hacking, start shooting. You'll come out of invisibility faster and will be able to shoot quicker
Also, don't hack zen's or widowmakers. You can burst them down easy without hacks. If you see a zen in your game, you're eating 🤤
Best tip to give this sombra is probably to turn down sensitivity, so they stop spraying when they try to assassinate someone.
There's like this certain class of dps in my mind that don't do insane damage. Somba, tracer, Cassidy, widow, hanzo some others who don't play like the massive damage output but like play this assassin game trying to pick off targets one by one
Bob the baiter? BOB DO SOMETHING!
The tf2 spy experience
Questron rage
It's always the bronze players who say they don't belong in that rank. When you watch the gameplay and see that they absolutely do lol.
Im pretty sure Bobthebaiter is a middle aged dad, i think i recognize the name from one of flats' videos
PLEASE check the stats, you can do that by spectating a specific team. e.g spectate blue then touch tab.
So... that was definately a ven diagram
i thnk the reason they are stuck in bronze is because the system sees them not using hack. which at the end of every match that is tracked over multiple stats for her. i bet if they just start hacking more they will move up to low gold.
The not hacking is killing me slowly
one thing that annoys me is that they dont reload during the tp backs
not hacking the widow is actually a better strat because you can just line your crosshair on her head and get a bunch of damage into the headshots anyway where as the hack gives the enemys a second to react
The lack of hacking drives me crazy!!! Omg
0 deaths! How am I bronze!
As an Ana main, i feel like if there was a Sombra trying to kill me without hacking I'd die a lot more since I have less time to react and go for the sleep.
Questron would be mad that this player's being told to hack healthpacks lol (jkjk)
They tried to hack ram when he was using ult idk if that would count it was at 9:41 🤷♂️
WOOOOO NEW BINGO CARD!!!!
As a Sombra main - this is painful to watch.
