    AFBMT for me was absolute blast, loved the challenge and experience. Remember my MTI "Arturo Garcia" He was a really great guy. Ran into him a few years later in England after his MTI time was up and we hung out a lot. Tech school was so so and getting to first assignment was exciting. Twenty years goes by so fast - love what you do and live it up for it goes by so fast. Nothing ever comes close to the lifestyle in the Air Force and thinking about getting out is not a good choice - better to retrain if your not happy what your doing! Retake asvab before you join if you don't like your scores and get the job you think will serve you best!
    Week 1 they yell to get you into gear
    Week 2 They get you to focus and only yell to guide you
    Week 3 hardly ever yell
    Week 4 they break jokes
    Week 5 You are in classes and see them rarely
    Week 6 They are chill cause you got this
    Week 7 They share their stories before you leave for Tech school so ask questions.

    Hi Martin, I've watched tons of BMT videos and even a few tech school videos, but no one seems to talk about how life is like after those 2 stages. What is going to work every day in the Air Force really like? Might sound silly, but that's the part I'm starting to worry about after researching everything. Is it like every other civilian job? Are your higher ups chill and relaxed or is everyone still walking around with a chip on their shoulder acting like they're still your MTI or something?

    A trick my flight used in Bmt to avoid any Mti was our element leaders would yell “Hydrate” and we’d all yell “H2O” and we’d drink our water and avoid an Mti successfully!

    • @cptburr
      @cptburr 5 лет назад +1

      Also to add on the point that Mti’s are good people. They are GREAT people. We had an Mti come in and didn’t yell at us. He was just so cool. They’re regular people. They’re there to help you and they want you to succeed.

    To the beginning... wash all gell out.... then dry ur hair a little, then go ahead while its still wet style it up how you want it then take a blow dryer and blowdry it back, it should just about stay and from there just put a small amount of paste in. You're hair wont be crusty and it wont hurt, u will be able to run ur fingers right thru it and itll look its natural color

    I never worried about USAF BMT, even the night before I left...1 May 1969. And, it was a whole lot different back then. There was cursing and hitting and real PT...and, GASP...there were no a/c dorms, just old WW-II barracks and 90+ degrees in San Antonio.

    Everyone always assumes Marine's are the oldest. That's not true. Army National Guard is the oldest branch of the military. Yes, "branch". When you go to MEPS, on the paperwork, Army National Guard is considered a branch of the Army. The National Guard is written into the Constitution and cannot be disbanded.

    • @micosstar
      @micosstar 4 месяца назад

      you are so right:
      according to a Wikipedia article titled, National Guard (United States):
      December 13, 1636, thus marks the beginning of the organized militia, and the birth of the National Guard's oldest organized units is symbolic of the founding of all the state, territory, and District of Columbia militias that collectively make up today's National Guard.

    I'm 35. I've lost 84 lbs in 6 months. No surgery. Only need to lose 19 lbs more to begin the process with the Airforce. It's been pure motivation and dedication. I want nothing more than to join the Airforce. I'm not really worried about bmt. Only concern is the running lol. How brutal is it ?? I know I need to run the mile and a half under 16 mins for my age. Just curious how intense are they about your running ?? any advice would be much appreciated :) thanks !

      There are run days every other day that's just constant running for ~36min. People are assigned different colored belts according to how fast they are and they run in a certain lain on a track. Not bad

      Hey Michelle, are you finally enlisted? I am in the same boat. I am 35 and overweight but have lost 22 lbs in a month and I'm pretty confident that I can lose the other 35 lbs in a couple of months. I sent my application today, so we will see if they have anything for me. Good luck with everything.

      Sophy Colón Hey ! sorry for my late reply.... I've started the process with everything...I've lost a total of 130 lbs.. I'm 15 lbs under the weight requirement.. It's been extreme motivation for me. I started the process... I passed my asvab and I went to MEPS 2 weeks ago. I passed everything for my physical however I go back on the 31st of January for a vision consult.. hopefully everything goes fine with that.. if so I can swear in that day.. if not I'll have to get a waiver.. I'm so damn close lol.. hopefully it goes well :) And you can do it !!! if you truly want something bad enough you can make it happen :) let me know if you have any other questions :)

    • @Msmkilo
      @Msmkilo 7 лет назад

      Loving Chandler get a book. If you can't then go on 4tests.com or look for practice study guides online. If you know your strength and weaknesses then that's good. math was hardest for me so i did that. go to your recruiting office and set an appointment to take a practice afqt test with him. it'll give you an idea of how well you'll do. remember that the practice one at the recruiters is harder than the actual one so don't lose confidence if you don't do good.

    • @ChandlerWorthen
      @ChandlerWorthen 7 лет назад

      Champagne King I actually have two asvab for dummies books... Took the practice test already... Got a 39... Did horribly on the definitions and math... He told me 39 was workable. I'm waiting for my toe to completely heal from its fracture that happened at work so that I may perform my best in Basic. I also have a gun palet stuck in my palm lol... I hope it won't stop me from getting in.

      Loving Chandler the word part will be easy to pick up on. root words is key. there's good youtube videos. Is the minimum 50 for where y9ure at? What kind of job are you wanting? And what meps doesn't know won't hurt em lol

    do you think they should be allowed to cuss at the trainees when they mess up

    • @MartinProductions
      @MartinProductions  7 лет назад +10

      Tim Munson PERSONALLY yes. And I speak for myself on this not from an AF perspective. I feel as if it can drive the point home more, and it can be a factor in discipline. When you cant, the trainees feel no reason to respect the MTI because they don't have the proper tools to drive the point home. But again that's my personal perspective, our BMT is still very effective if you go in with the right mind.

    • @southernreptile9661
      @southernreptile9661 7 лет назад +3

      +Martin Productions Yea true. I mean if someone does something completely stupid and the MTI says what the Fuck is wrong with you then that should be allowed. And the whole drop and give me 20 should still be implemented I think it makes the trainee think like "ok if I keep doing something stupid or wrong I'll keep doing these push-ups, maybe I should stop and do what my MTI says"

    • @MartinProductions
      @MartinProductions  7 лет назад +2

      Tim Munson agreed, I believe our MTIs lack the ability to instill discipline and trainees hold to much power. But again that's MY personal view I don't speak for the Air Force on that just myself :)

    • @southernreptile9661
      @southernreptile9661 7 лет назад

      +Martin Productions Yea and I honestly agree with you. I think they should have it to where the Air Force MTI AND a Marine Corps drill sergeant switch places for 8 weeks and train trainees their way. like when I go in and they do that I would love see that happen and maybe each one could learn off of the other and implement it more into how they train the trainees

    • @MartinProductions
      @MartinProductions  7 лет назад +2

      Tim Munson that I don't agree with. DIs train Marines, MTIs train Airman. The basic training program for each branch is set up its way for a very good reason. So with that in mind a marine DI wouldn't give you a good Airman. You're not getting the same product coming from a different source. That's why they all have their respected trainers and ways of training

      Lexi Jimenez they will. trust and believe that. They denied me because of flat feet (there is nothing wrong with them), so now I got to start over and I'm going Air Guard for college. So as my older recruiter said, just shut up (the clean version lol) and you'll be fine

    +Martin Productions Yo... posted this question 2 videos ago, and here it is again...
    What are you allowed to bring to your dorm? Such as things from home. Thanks.

    • @MartinProductions
      @MartinProductions  7 лет назад

      Blue Suiter from basic to tech school OR tech school to first base?

    • @bluesuiter
      @bluesuiter 7 лет назад

      Thank you for your prompt reply! Both tech school and 1st base if the answer is not too long for you.

    • @MartinProductions
      @MartinProductions  7 лет назад

      Blue Suiter from basic to tech school? Little. What you had at basic and anything SMALL you bought at Airmans week. Ask your TI or your facilitator in Airmans week if you have anything specific in mind. But historically nothing. If you want like your Xbox and tv it'll have to be shipped to your base at tech school. From tech school to your first base you can ship anything really that fits in your dorm rules. You have more freedom operationally so you should be ok.

    I'm a senior in High School and have already applied for colleges, and accepted to one. The concept of joining the Air Force Reserves has been on my mind for a while now, but I'm still a little weary. I know I could handle the physical and mental fatigue from BMT and I know that I want to serve my country as well as acquiring additional education, but the whole process is a little foggy. Could I enlist and ship to BMT the summer before I start college, complete my freshman year, and then go to tech. school that next summer? What is the Air Force policy on privately funded schools, compared to state funded? I was looking into photojournalism with the Air Force, and I'm looking to get a degree in Media Productions in college. Do you think the reserves are my better option?
    Thanks so much for these videos and all your advice, I've been binge watching them for days now.

    • @MartinProductions
      @MartinProductions  7 лет назад

      Allison Ward so this whole process you listed to me is banking on things falling perfectly into place. Shipping in summer alone could happen but that's IF you get a job and IF it's one you want. If eduction is your primary concern I think reserve is the better option. Once you're active the mission comes first. And education and self improvement are important but not number one. Honestly if that's what you think is the best I agree. Active doesn't sound right for you. You can go active at anytime but I'd start reserve and finish your education. I feel like it would be way easier for you to manage!

    • @MartinProductions
      @MartinProductions  7 лет назад

      Also private and state funded do not matter. Look up Air Force tuitions assistance or TA and that will explain more of that for you! GI bill and Post 9/11 are for after service not during

    • @MartinProductions
      @MartinProductions  7 лет назад

      Aaronloves2 to make it through basic? Unsure. You get a minute for push ups and sit ups not 30
      Seconds. And you have to run a mile and a half. It also depends on your age and where you fall. I think you're alright but I'd always recommend working at it. The AF is really stressing PT now

      incorrect to a certain extent, you don't IF you go in open admin, general etc. Then they place you wherever. But If you wait for a job to drop while in the DEP and your recruiter gets it for you. You will go to basic with that job, I waited 6 months for my job then 3 more months to go to basic. Remember patience is a virtue :)
