I totally agree with you regarding how "mint" it should look. In my opinion, a perfectly vintage rc car, has all the parts that the car was built from originally. Scratches is a part of the patina. One other thing about vintage stuff. This is alot about memories. The search after that old child excitement we had. A part of the history is in matter og fact, that we drow these cars to the ground. We really had fun. Many of us had just that one car. Probably not the money for all the spare parts and changing old worn out tires. We just kept going and adapting to the circumstances. Many of us maked new parts for them, or glued it together to hold up only half a battery pack. That was my childhood. That is why I run all my vintage cars.
What a great buggy. A good friend of mine had one of these when growing up. I ran a Raider ARR and he ran the Madcap. I always thought his buggy was better but, I never told him that when we were kids. This buggy definitely has a lot of potential. I was able to find a NIB spare body kit with original stickers to help fully restore mine to mint condition. The only issue is the tinted window stickers which are already lifting. I don't like how it is 3 pieces but it is what it is. I"ve been tempted to lift them off and used the MCI black window boarders and spray tint it. I'm going to leave it for now and maybe in the future do that.
