My son sleeps 12 hour stretches. We pulled the pacifier as he kept spitting it out and demanding we replace it. That’s when we started sleep training. I highly recommend the book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. It worked after about a week. He’s 4.5 months old now and we got through the sleep regression very quickly, because he already learned self soothing. All we do is put him in his crib and he knows exactly what to do. You will get better sleep! Just be consistent with the training and don’t give in! Better sleep=better mama. ❤
@@sararenee635 since he’s 6 months it may take a little longer for him to learn to self soothe without a pacifier. But definitely get that book. SO helpful.
Girl, I was the exact same! My baby just turned 7 months and she was in reverse cycling. She would go 8-10 hrs of not eating during the day and eat every 2-3 hrs at night. I am a full time RN and need my sleep so bad! I was willing to wake up until I made mistakes at work. We started the Taking Cara Babies and within 3 nights she was sleeping 11 hrs!!!! And we overhauled her naps too and now she has a set schedule for naps and day time sleep. it wasn't easy and it was hard listening to her fuss but it took 9 minutes for her to calm down and self soothe. Now we are both getting the sleep we need and shes a happier baby and I am a better mom, wife, friend, nurse, etc. YOU CAN DO IT!
same same with the sleep! its currently 12am in South Africa and im still awake even tho my son(6months) is sleeping. i also know that if i decide to go to sleep now he'll probably wake up to drink. praying that we all get our sleep back soooon sooon. PS. love your vids, you motivate me in so many ways from trying to be a better mom and wife to being productive in my every day life and just generally being a better person. love you and your vids!
I feel you, none of my 3 kids slept through the night easily and I always thought I was doing something wrong. Keep in mind, babies do go through sleep regressions! My daughter is 7 months old and is going through one now. I never slept trained my kids, it does take them awhile to learn how to sleep. Us as adults even have hard times sleeping sometimes! You're not alone, Mama. It is a phase that'll pass
Thank you for sharing your sleep journey! I’m quite literally word for word going through the same thing you are and having the same thoughts as well. It’s a hard cycle to break and just know that you are the BEST mommy for Zeke. it’s so hard to not compare yourself to other moms! We got this girl!
My daughter is 10 months she started sleeping through the night around 8 or 9 months. She goes to bed at 8:30 sometimes wakes up once around 3 or 4am I feed her she’s back asleep within a hour. She wakes up at 7:30am she takes her first nap of the day around 11 which lasts 30-45 mins. Then around 2 she takes a hour or 2 nap. I also give her teething tabs before bed middle of the night and in the morning. Sometimes she puts her self back to sleep in the middle of the night but most nights she doesn’t. I would try to limit his naps to 2 a day if you can and maybe get him down for bed a little later? This is just what worked for us.
finally caught up with I think 2 months' worth of old videos, the BEST! i hope you have the energy to start sleep training and get the much needed rest you need soon!
I love getting to see the little moments of your family dynamics! Zeke is so blessed to grow up in a home full of so much love between all its members, I hope that never changes :)
Loved this nighttime routine. And girl I totally feel you about not sleeping. My baby girl is 2.9 years old and still doesn’t sleep through the night yeah almost 3 years old and I think she’s only slept though the night once in her whole life. I still exclusively breastfeed (so so grateful) so she just wakes up and says milk and I give her milk and she goes back to sleep but that’s like 1-3 times a night. I love this bond with my baby girl. Just know every baby is different and everyone’s situation is different. If you feel like you want to start sleep training and that works for you then do it girl! You got this!! Love from one tired mama to another❤
I really loved today's vlog 🤍 For so many reasons. Thanks for being so raw and real. I know it must be so hard for you as a new mum, plus navigating not seeing your husband as much as you'd both want to, not getting sleep. You guys are clearly doing the absolute best you can and it's so obvious you are such good parents to Zeke. You should honestly be so proud of yourself in such a challenging time in life. As a new mum myself to a 3 month old girl who is up all night. I appreciate you & your channel a lot. 🤍
My 8 month old does not sleep through the night either! I have been pro nursing to sleep / nursing to soothe and I will say that it has been so beneficial for us in the sense that there is a strong comfort and bond between us! It comforts me knowing I can comfort him. Just wanted to encourage you that these moments won’t last forever! But I understand needing sleep, and desiring for that to be well so you can be present! Praying for you in this journey we are going through together ♥️
First off you’re doing an AMAZING job mama 🎉 celebrate and praise yourself. Remember to give yourself grace as well, every baby is different & I know comparing is difficult not to do (I catch myself doing it as well), but no one is the same! I feel the same way, my son is currently waking up every 2 hours again, I’m thinking teething? I know prior to this when I was getting 4-5 hour sleep stretches the one thing I did which I didn’t expect to work (but did) was change and lower the hatch. I changed it from white noise to fan, red light to no light, and lowered it to about 20 (25 if our dogs are being loud or neighbors) & with that subtle change he was sleeping 4-5 hours!! I feel like this rn must be teething or the 4 month sleep regression for my son….and mama is EXHAUSTED 🫠 I still don’t have nap routines down. We are all still learning, especially now a days with so many different ways of getting advice, feedback, knowledge..it can be overwhelming. I appreciate you being vulnerable and talking about this as so many moms (especially first time moms) can relate like myself. I saw some judgmental comments some related to sleeping some not, please disregard people who don’t know how to frame feedback in a positive uplifting way. YOU ARE DOING AMAZING! I looked forward to your videos, it helps me keep going on a hard early morning/day with my son. He’s currently fighting his nap, but I just gotta breathe and try again. I could say more but this is long as it is 😅 from one new SD mama to another…you’re doing great & remind yourself that your son is loved unconditionally protected healthy and safe all because of you!!! ❤
I struggle with naps too! I read that at this stage 4-6 months their brains are changing to learn how to sleep like adults and when they enter into a new cycle of sleep they go into a super light sleep and that's why they wake up after about 30 - 45 mins!! I do two crib naps and one contact nap with my boy. Love your positivity, btw! 🩷
I feel you when you say the lack of sleep is catching up to you and 100% getting more sleep helps you show up better in different areas! As 1st time parents we definitely made the mistake of getting our baby into “Reverse cycling” without any idea we were doing it! Our friends told us about TakingCaraBabies which we implemented and our 5.5 month old was a whole different child after 2 days! 12 hours straight, we couldn’t believe it. Yes the first night was TOUGH! Tears all around lol but it was so worth it because now he is some much calmer in his bed, and puts himself back to sleep multiple times throughout the night WITHOUT tears. It’s been a game changer in our household! I’m definitely a better mama because of it. You got this!
Sleep is the hardest part of motherhood that is the most draining. I have a 5 month-old breastfed baby and it's always difficult to compare your situation to others. Hard part is all babies are different and have different readiness and needs. My situation was different early on where I had to supplement my baby with formula until my supply came up so she took a bottle early on. That helped in so many ways at night where my partner or mom could feed her while I got rest. Breastfeeding is also a hard journey, but is helpful since it can provide so much comfort. What has worked for me is co-sleeping and side lying feeding when my baby won't settle, is sick, or going through regressions. Not going to lie, that is the only way I have been able to get enough sleep to also work full-time still. I also pump and we bottle feed my little one, it might be worth it to try for your own sleep help, which is REALLY important. Last tidbit is I have trouble falling back asleep a lot after I wake up with the baby. I swear by sleep meditations/yoga nidra by Yogi Bryan on Spotify. Good luck mama and you are doing an amazing job for your little man.
I have a 6 month old and have been following you and zeke this whole time! I love relating to the similar age. With my daughter. We implemented a super strict bedtime routine that’s remained the same since we was really little .. cereal @6pm, bath (sometimes no bath) and then bed (lotion, diaper, pjs, hair, read a book, get into sleep sack, bottle) 7pm Then when she’s almost asleep, eyes rolling back kinda state, put into crib and leave the room. At beginning of starting this she would cry,.. I would go in after 5 mins, give soother, wait for her to calm, and leave again. And return after 10 mins. Same thing I’ve been lucky enough I haven’t made it to 15 mins as she’s always fallen asleep by the 10 mins point. It’s okay to let them cry a little and they don’t be traumatized. We do a dream feed before we go to sleep (11pmish) and she sleeps till about 7am Now after doing this for about a month, she goes to sleep / naps on her own and she’s been sleeping through the night for the last week or so. I hope this helps you!!
my 6 month old and i LOOOVE watching your videos! i was pregnant around the same time as you, and i've followed you since i started college in 2019!! my daughter and i absolutely love watching your content together as a mama daughter show!
This was me from 3months-now, just under 7 months. It was horrible and i have just now had 3 nights of 1 waking (we were having anywhere between 2-8 times a night for MONTHS)...but out of nowhere she just started sleeping so sending all the positive vibes and prayers for a sleep full night soon 🙏 i tried sleep training 3 different times, i just couldnt do it (which is on me) but ive accepted the failure and embracing these couple days of 1 waking and praying they continue. You are capable and you are an amazing momma, im sorry your suffering
You are not alone! My baby girl is 9.5 months and just now started sleeping through the night. I was nursing her back to sleep up until the point where lack of sleep was really getting to me too. I was really resistant to implementing any kind of sleep training for a long long time. It was hard the first two nights (I cried along with her) but after those two nights she’s doing so well being able to sleep through the night and even if she does wake up she goes right back to sleep. (Taking Cara babies is pretty much what we followed!) You got this! And whatever decision you make is the best decision for Zeke. You are doing an amazing job, he loves you so much, you can see it in every video! 🌻🤍
Also just wanted to add my girl has never fed to sleep, but she has needed to be rocked to sleep since 3mo. It’s gotten so tough since she’s heavy now! Well she just went down for a nap with no rocking today and I am so proud! No sleep training but I just consistently tried putting her down and if it didnt work I would rock her. I think just patience and gentle weaning worked best for us!
I feel you when you say your baby doesn’t sleep throughout the night. My baby is 3 weeks younger than Zeke and what is working for me is feeding her with baby cereal like the Rice one from Gerber. Keeps her fuller and now she only feeds once during the night. And my go to is feed her until she doesn’t want to receive any more. You’re doing an amazing job as a mom!❤
My baby is going to be 7 months old on Monday and she has been the same way with sleep. It’s SO exhausting and SO hard not to compare myself to other moms and their babies. It can be so defeating. You’re not alone mama
The TakingCaraBabies course is so good! It is so hard to start but my baby has been sleeping 12 hours a night since 7 months with it! Before that was a NIGHTMARE. Bedtime sleep training took one week (fully weaning off of night bottles). I promise you, you will feel so much better!
what I've learned as a first time mom myself don't stress if he doesn't eat much food because he is still getting his main nutrients from bf milk or Formula. Here is a saying I Found comforting ( Foods before One is just for Fun!) #Boymom 😍🥰
Such a cool video Lauryn❤ The way how Zeke looked straight into the camera as you picked him up from his nap😂💙 Loved how you showed us Rocco towards the beginning of the video as you were showing us the decorations and coziness of your home🥰🐾 Such beauty in just our everyday lives🤗❤️
Thank you for being so raw and real, Lauren. While I have not done this myself with my girl, I have some friends who had a lot of success hiring a sleep consultant to help with sleep training their little one! That way you can have someone there with you virtually, walking you through it. I believe this is available through TCB! Praying for you & Zekey!
Hello you are a awesome person and a good mother and you both are and the baby he is getting so big he is so cute Godbless you guys you guys are a humble family 😊 thanks 👍 to share allways
The thing that helped me to get my baby to sleep through the night is a consistent schedule. Keep his wake windows 1-2 hours 3 at the most, and that changed my life. Hopefully it can help
Hi Lauryn! Thanks for this vid and for your real and raw chat at the end. I too have the course but I’m just not ready to do it. One night he didn’t settle like usual so I decided to let him cry while I quickly ate my dinner downstairs. After 10 minutes of crying I went in to reassure him and he was so distressed and shaking I had to pick him up and cuddle him and he was so calm and happy in my arms. I decided maybe sleep training isn’t for me and maybe I will just wait until it gets easier because so many moms I know who didn’t sleep train tell me it does you just have to wait if you decide not to sleep train. Anyway, I guess it all depends on how desperate you are needing sleep because better sleep will definitely make you function better. Co-sleeping with my baby gives me better sleep so I might just continue with it because that is what my instincts tell me. Trust yourself my love xx
I’m in the same boat with sleep. My baby is almost 7 months and he’s up 3-5 times and feeds. I want to sleep train but idk where to start and don’t want to purchase a program as it’s out of our budget. I’ve done research and try to implement but my sons just so stubborn and really wants to feed at night lol
Hi, I have an almost 6 month old. We started sleep training after his 4 month appointment. He scream cried for 45 mins.. it was so stressful but every night after that it was less and less. Now he literally goes straight to sleep and has always slept 10- 12 hours. It's saved me!! I also don't breastfeed, I tried but he had a tongue tie and just couldn't latch properly.. and by the time it was fixed my milk supply was terrible and he just needed to gain weight so we switched to formula 😔but he consumes most of his calories during the day and I give him 8oz right before bed, sometimes he falls asleep on it and I'll just burp him for about 5 mins and lay him down. My dr. Said you have to just do it! It's gonna be hard but it's gonna be even harder as he gets older! Good luck, you're doing great 👍 😉 and also, every time you go back in to soothe him he's going to cry even longer to see if you will come back. It's sad but trust me, you can do this!
This was such a cozy vlog 😌 i noticed rocco’s undercoat of hair has been getting think, my dog’s hair has been insane lately i feel like i have to brush him so much more than usual, do you ever take Rocco to the groomers? Ive been considering it ☺️ Love you and your family ❤
I fed my baby back to sleep till the week he turned 1. He was on formula and he would wake up 1-2x and would get a bottle. The week he turned 1 he just self weaned from night feeds. All babies are sooo different but I understand the struggle. I had 2 babies 13 months apart and so for 2 years sleep was so little but it will get better💕
My baby is 9 months old and the same as yours. I’m guilty of nursing him to sleep as well (3 or more times lol) I am so nervous to sleep train! Please document if you do!
Is Zeke napping much during the day? My 7 month old just started to sleep through the night but he wakes from his naps after 30-45 minutes and he only does those naps 2 times a day and then goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up at 8am. I did somewhat sleep train him I would let him cry/whine for 3-5 min ( as long as it wasn’t a hard cry where he was gasping) and he would put himself back to sleep. If he wouldn’t go back to sleep I would go and hold him and calm him down but I wouldn’t feed him so that he would stop using it as comfort
The Dreamland sleep sack helped my baby sleep way better in just 3 days of using it, without having to change anything about our sleep routine/sleep training. My heart can’t bear to hear my baby boy crying at night, so I’m avoiding sleep training as much as I can lol
You are not alone lauryn ! I didn’t sleepy for 8 months because my daughter kept waking up to get nursed back to sleep. She didn’t get enough milk in the daytime only nighttime like you mentioned too. That had a lot to do with it. I did the cry it out method and it worked but she still managed to wake up times so I changed to formula and gave her a bottle at night and she finally felt full enough to sleep atleast a good 6-7 hours straight. It gets better I promise. Maybe doing formula isn’t for you but I just wanted to tell you you are not alone and I struggled too! You got this mama ❤️🫶🏻
Just wanted to reassure you, that your not alone, waking 5 times is a good night for us my 4th baby currently 7months old my 3rd breastfed baby, my 1stbwas formula fed and slept through from 3 weeks old my 2nd bf slept through around 5months most nights 3rd was the same but this little dude just loves his nighttime feeds 😂😂😂
My baby is only 3 days younger than Zeke. And she doesn’t sleep through the night. Last month I stopped breastfeeding and she still feeds 1x per night . And currently only stays asleep when she’s in our bed .. I totally get your exhaustion! I’m so so tired . But know you’re not alone and every baby grows at their own pace xx
I’m 100% going through the same thing with my 6 month baby boy 😭😭 he is waking up almost every hour! I have to comfort nurse to sleep…I’m so exhausted :( sleep training scares me tho bc I can’t stand the thought of letting my baby crying for even a couple seconds sigh
I think one suggestion is putting the baby to sleep a little later… not sure what time he goes to sleep but let’s say he goes to bed @ 8, try to put him to bed @ 9 instead.
From personal experience i believe if you gave him a little more solids throughout the day even if it’s just purée he may start sleeping better just my experience and opinion but you do you ❤ love watching your videos
Baby sleep is so stressful. My baby is 7 months and I did sleep train around 4 months. He just started waking at night again and waking up at 5am every day. it’s so hard for me to not go in and put him back to sleep by feeding him as well because he falls right asleep as soon as I pop him on the boob. It’s so confusing
Currently also on the “no sleep train” with you Honestly, I watch your videos bc we are in the same stage of life right now and you are so real about your struggles and it’s the same thing I’m going through everyday. I also recently started solids and I’m also confused on how much to feed her to make sure she isn’t too full on food and not want milk. I also exclusively breastfeed from the breast but one thing I have found helpful is I pump and give her a bottle before bed instead of breastfeed to make sure she gets full and so I can see how much she’s drinking. Since I started doing this she gives me a much better first stretch at night. My baby is 5.5 months but as soon as she turns 6 months, im getting the all clear from my dr to wean off night feeds and I’m going to officially start sleep training.
I had the same question about solids! My lactation specialist many months ago told me to do milk first and then offer food about an hour later. I formula feed now, but I feel like my little guy is always up for eating!! Food before on is just for fun, not for nutrients. Hope that helps! Keep up the good work 🙂
I used taking Cara babies and it has worked really well for us. My best advice is once you start, try really really hard to be consistent. I’m sorry you’re so tired mama.. this really is one of the hardest jobs in the world. Hang in there 💙
Hey Lauryn, sleep training doesnt have to be this formal thing...if thats too exhausting to even think about, try letting baby cry for 3 mins and going in to replace paci...its teaching baby to sleep in small steps
Co-sleep is best. My baby sleeps the best when he's next to us. Babies sleeping separate is a western world phenomenon and really not normal because are little ones were in our bellies for almost 10 months. They don't fully understand that they are separate from us yet, so when we're apart it causes them anxiety. I will allow our little one to sleep train at 1+... do the research, our Doctors withhold this info
your such a good mama! I hope im a good mom just like you! Love your videos
saying hello and I’m sorry in solidarity with your sleeping situation

Now after doing this for about a month, she goes to sleep / naps on her own and she’s been sleeping through the night for the last week or so.
I hope this helps you!!
Do you wake her up for the dream feed? Or does she usually wake up on her own?
my 6 month old and i LOOOVE watching your videos! i was pregnant around the same time as you, and i've followed you since i started college in 2019!! my daughter and i absolutely love watching your content together as a mama daughter show!
Kekoa doing the bath routine drops is peak influencer husband and we love to see it 🤣
Love the Zeke content! Cant believe he is already 8 months ! So excited for more.
I also have an almost 8 month old currently and starting solids has been soo weird! Totally feel you on that!
Zeke is the cutest such curious baby I’ve seen! He’s so adorable! Also, love the 30 minute videos ❤
What's the recipe you made for dinner? It looked like zucchini, maybe rice and chicken too? Would love to have it!
Keep up the good work momma! I’m a first time mom too, and it’s a roller coaster ride but I love it ❤
Thank you! You too!
I love that we got to see sweet Rocco boy a little more in this video. I love me some Rocco! ❤
You are killing it as a momma!
Do the sleep training! We did the ferber method. Took like a week for it to work, but then she started sleeping through the night ❤️ Saved my sanity!
Just wanted to say I love your videos! I have a 6mo old so I love watching Zeke as I can relate to so much! 🤍
You’re not alone mama
ughhh yes. youre doing amazing
where is your coffee table from? It's beautiful ❤️
Trust yourself my love xx
ahh i feel the exact same way. youre doing amazing!!!
Hang in there mama! 🫶🏻
Lauryn your videos make me so happy you're the best content creator in the World you're my favorite RUclipsr in the world i love you ❤❤
awwww ily
Omg I can’t believe how big zeke has gotten love you guys❤
I can not get over how cute zeke is ❤️ love you guys
Lauryn your videos are so relaxing❤ you have a beautiful family.
I fed my baby back to sleep till the week he turned 1. He was on formula and he would wake up 1-2x and would get a bottle. The week he turned 1 he just self weaned from night feeds. All babies are sooo different but I understand the struggle. I had 2 babies 13 months apart and so for 2 years sleep was so little but it will get better💕
missed u when u didn't post last week how was your birthday hope it was a good one hang in there eke will get on a good sleep routine in no time
My baby is 9 months old and the same as yours. I’m guilty of nursing him to sleep as well (3 or more times lol) I am so nervous to sleep train! Please document if you do!
Zeke is so cute!
You’ll be brilliant have some faith x
Whoa! I happened to open up RUclips 17 seconds after you uploaded this! So excited to see little Zeke!
YAYYYYY
When Zeke only takes 30 min naps all day does he take an extra nap or go to bed early?
What lotions and shampoos do you use for baby?
Was so excited to see your video post!!!
YAY!!!
Just wanted to reassure you, that your not alone, waking 5 times is a good night for us my 4th baby currently 7months old my 3rd breastfed baby, my 1stbwas formula fed and slept through from 3 weeks old my 2nd bf slept through around 5months most nights 3rd was the same but this little dude just loves his nighttime feeds 😂😂😂
somethin abt this video i RLLY enjoyed idk if the editing was different
My baby just turned 8 months and has only ever slept through the night like 4 times. So I feel you mama. He still wakes up 3-6 times a night. 😢
Zeeck is so so cute omg!!!
Where are the baby pjs from !
I feel you… my baby is 6 months and still waking 3x a night…. What did you do?
I’m 100% going through the same thing with my 6 month baby boy 😭😭 he is waking up almost every hour! I have to comfort nurse to sleep…I’m so exhausted :( sleep training scares me tho bc I can’t stand the thought of letting my baby crying for even a couple seconds sigh
Been a while! Looking good ❤
Did you get stretch marks on your belly?
Ps: saw your video 58seconds after you posted
yes i did hahaha
I think one suggestion is putting the baby to sleep a little later… not sure what time he goes to sleep but let’s say he goes to bed @ 8, try to put him to bed @ 9 instead.
So excited to watch ❤❤
yayayaya
Update on being a mom? ❤
I love her hauls shame shes so happy when she gets new things. So i dont mind
Currently also on the “no sleep train” with you
Honestly, I watch your videos bc we are in the same stage of life right now and you are so real about your struggles and it’s the same thing I’m going through everyday.
My baby is 5.5 months but as soon as she turns 6 months, im getting the all clear from my dr to wean off night feeds and I’m going to officially start sleep training.
youre doing amazing!! thank you for your input!
I had the same question about solids! My lactation specialist many months ago told me to do milk first and then offer food about an hour later. I formula feed now, but I feel like my little guy is always up for eating!! Food before on is just for fun, not for nutrients. Hope that helps! Keep up the good work 🙂
it seems like rocco's hair is getting thick and shedding! idk why I noticed he has huge chunks of fur hanging out 🤣
I used taking Cara babies and it has worked really well for us.
I love lauryn but it feels like every vlog is just a haul video and it’s tiring😢
REALLY! I love the haul parts!! obviously we all hv our preferences and our entitled to our opinions 🙃
I agree with you ,I'm guilty of skipping over those parts 😭I still love her vlogs, though. just wish the hauls were less frequent
23 min rocco just sitting outside the door :((
My son didn’t sleep until about two…so just sleep when he does…Stop with the makeup and stuff, just sleep when he does
Ur pet feels left out.
