Wow, Twilight really has had quite a few run ins with the law. Twilight the master criminal here. I know it wasn't in the fanfic, but I was thinking, what if they asked Fluttershy or Pinkie about their rap sheets? You have to know that Pinkie probably has a huge record. Also, what about Flutters? It's always the quiet ones ya know. That would have been a fun angle on the story. So next time lock the door Twilight, it will fix all problems. Also those parents are gonna get some awkward questions from their foals. I can see it now, " Mommy what were those to mares doing?" " Playing twister darling, that's all."
Hannah Metzger Oh I would definitely read that. That would be a great story. I say go for it. I have this feeling that we would be surprised what crimes each of them were charged with. So, if you do write it, where would we be able to find it? Cause I'm definitely interested. Also you can't go wrong with any of the background ponies. Vinyl would prob be in for public intoxication, but what would Lyra be in for? Maybe casting an illegal hoof to hand transformation spell? I'm a horrible writer, but if you want suggestions I'm willing to take a crack at it for the crimes. But I'm sure you would have it covered. Still this story sounds amazing, go for it.
Hannah Metzger It's ok, I actually need to thank you. I've never written a fanfic, I tried once and it turned out really bad, but you inspired me to try. I actually just created a Fim fiction account today so if could post stories. ( The account was easy to create, it took 3 mins). I think I can try to come up with some ideas for you and I guess we can keep using this sub section of my comment. Also don't worry, I am not gonna steal the story idea we've been talking about. Its your story all the way so don't worry. I have a few other story ideas in mind. If you never create an account and post it that's fine, but just know I bet a few people would read it. I'll start thinking of ideas now.

I had one that is kinda a little cliche, but you could always have AJ's crime be something like destroying some other vendors fruit stand or something. Ooh and Pinkie should be cought selling weed. Not weed like marijuana, but actual weeds I don't know what context. Or better yet, party dust aka powdered poison joke. Well these are just a few thoughts I haven't had much time to think. But if they are any good then I'm glad if not I'll try harder. Also when I'm trying to write a fanfic I write it while thinking it in Scribbler's voice. That may be strange, but man I love her narrating voice, hers and Leonov, man he has a voice. Anyways hope these may be helpful.
Hannah Metzger, It depends on where your story's setting is gonna take place, and your decision about what happened to them. I say if it's some wild party then definitely Vinyl, but if it's something else more subdued then go for Lyra and Bon Bon. I love both pairs so I don't have a personal preference. I agree with the whole weed thing. A little too abstract. But, if they had poppies then that could have some adverse effects. Plus there is such a thing as loco weed which is a wild plant that makes horses crazy when they eat it. Also these are just random off the top of my head ideas so don't worry if you don't like them. AJ probably disrupted a stallions weight lifting competition and won or something. So anything could happen. Fluttershy probably raided a pet store or something and set all the animals free. Probably while wearing camouflage and grease paint. Well whatever you choose I hope you have fun writing the story. Also you think Scribbler minds that we are using this section of the comments to have this chat? Scribbler if you mind I'm sorry tell us and we will stop. ..... Also we love you.
The part about the foals questions to their parents. My favorite lie for that kind of scenario is that "They were just wrestling."
