If only they taught art students this in school. Graduate with a BFA and you do not have a clue how to go about selling your work. Thank you for putting this together. You are amazing.

Thank you so much for this Jenna! I noticed in your B roll, that you had created some beer labels (love me a good Saison!).
I used to be a regional sales rep for a large Colorado-based Belgian beer-style brewery.
The original artwork when they first started in the early 90's was created by the founders' next door neighbor who was an amazing watercolor artist- I, (and millions of old school fans) still think her designs were the best and that art/branding she created for them for each of their unique brews was absolutely integral to catapulting that little basement brewery into a multimillion dollar business!
While I loved the brewery and they were so good to me, my heart was never in the day-to-day sales and distributorship aspect of the business- my artistic and eclectic Aquarian heart was drawn to the creative aspect of the business. Though I was supposed to be focusing on the "numbers", I couldn't help seeing certain marketing/branding & thus sales opportunities they were missing and ended up helping them come up with the name and brand story for one of their more unique beers, helped them conceive of & develop their first ever IPA, created some regionally specific post coasters and even clued them into a glaring omission of their core image within their business name (they ended up hiring a firm to implement the new business label with that core image). I never got any credit for it though and so I'm done doing that for others and am now utilizing my own artistic skills and marketing mind to build MY unique brand -makes me think of this Eurythmics/Aretha Franklin song: "Sisters are doin' it for themselves"!
I am so grateful to you (and John) for doing what you do and cannot wait to take your Brand Plus Brand course!
    Blessings, Cat-

Thank you so much! This was extremely helpful. Licensing is totally what I want to do, but I didn't know what it was. : D I used to walk through bookstores and clothing shops, and think': "How do people get their work on these things?" Well, now I know. ; ) I have ADHD, and handling all the printing, shipping, overhead of a business vastly exceeds my management abilities, but being able to reduce that side of it may actually make it possible to make $ from my artwork. I used to sell pet portraits, but I didn't love it, and I've been searching for something else. I am so glad you're making a course. Thank you!!!

God bless you Jenna Rainey! I starting all over again in so many different ways I found you on RUclips because I am painting watercolor florals and from that I finally got all of my questions answered about how do I find a leasing agent how do I get my artwork recognized or viewed by a leasing agent and what is it exactly that print manufacturers are looking for and how do you contact them and I had so many questions thank you so much I have already downloaded one of your free downloads I'm going to do the other one and that is one of my basic questions how do I know my artwork is ready for to be put out there and be viewed by the public a lot of people like my stuff but I never started an Etsy store so because I just wanted to go straight to what you're doing I realize that I've got to put it somewhere so somebody can view it and you know see if it's something they want for their print partners I love the information you gave I love how you presented it as always You're adorable you're so fun to watch and so professional yet you keep it the fun flowing and the artistic ideas are just never ending is what I have found thank you so much thank you thank you thank you thank you so much for giving this information for free I drive Uber and Lyft right now and deliver Amazon flex so that I don't have to do that wardrobe office thing and go around to employment agencies although I am signed up with all of them that I can be and constantly submitting my resumes but it's not I don't want to do office work anymore I don't want to work in a medical billing office anymore and this is exactly what I have been wanting where I can just let the leasing agent do all the negotiations and and you know so that I know how to price and what to price and I mean everything you covered is exactly all the questions that popped up in my mind and I've been watching you for a couple months now and I kept searching and searching and searching trying to find all this information that you just gave freely thank you so much and I did see your notebook your calendar planner with those beautiful florals on the front of it and I I stopped and I took a picture of it I thought this looks like Jenna's work I wonder who did this and I couldn't see your name on it anywhere so I thought somebody trying to pull something and then I thought no it's been marketed in in put in Target so Target would have to be putting people's work out there that are validated and verified so yay I saw your planner in your video and it's exactly the one that I took a picture of and was bringing home to show my daughter! Thank you thank you so much for all of your hard work and and I am not going to be able to go to college but I like what I've done so far and I haven't been able to say that about hardly anything that I have done in in career wise in the real world I do like my artwork I'm happy with the way that I paint leaves and flower petals and rosebuds and my daughter really likes my work too and her dad was an artist and handed down his artistic talent to her and my son but my son details and does car detailing work in a shop but he also has an eye for art and I'm trying to nudge him in that direction thank you again so much!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like it wasn't so much what you did to change things as much as what opportunities your talent attracted. You didn't seek out Each opportunity, but, they seemed to come to you, as in fate, with the next new offer! No?
