    Did you say something Ray???
Couldn't here you over the sound of the jet engine. 🤣🤣🤣
Better be safe than sorry with the fuel choice my friend.
I would hate to see you get burned.
Very dangerous when the fuel vapor escapes when letting of pressure with the open flame that close.
    Kerosene is much safer.
    God bless.

Yes Rob, I went back to paraffin, I had to have this flame spreader made by an engineer, as these are like rocking horse shit to get hold of, I got 2 made, slightly bigger than the standard spreader, also what I asked was can you get hold of a check valve for a Coleman 285 duel fuel lantern,?? can't seem to get them over here.

Ray. Please for the love of god don’t run petrol or coleman fuel in a paraffin stove.

Can you tell me why please???

@@charlietango1635 because when you vent the tank, flammable vapor mix is released in close proximity to the burner. Coleman stoves actually use this. If you see a coleman stove with the little lever that you ‘turn up to light and down to burn’ it makes use of the flammable gas to prime the stove. When the lever is up on a coleman stove it draws from the top of the tank. When the lever rotated down it draws liquid. The vapor is very flammable with gasoline type fuels. Not so with paraffin. You may have noticed on older coleman stoves that the filler cap was at the end of the tank. In more recent years (since the 80’s) the cap has been moved to a location between the tank and the body of the suitcase. This is to make it more inconvenient for the operator to open the tank and vent the vapor whilst the tank is mounted to the stove.
If the stove runs yellow on paraffin (with a pot on it) then the best course of action is to try to peen the jet a bit. If it runs blue with a pot on it then there’s basically no issue.

@@charlietango1635 because it could explode!!!!! if its burning yellow on paraffin your Jet is over size its quite easy to Re Tamp them though so easily fixed. these are a lovely stove and also very rare they can burn paraffin beautifully with clean blue flame.
