The senior scientists of DRDO intentionally drag all projects until they can retire peacefully. Their successors do the same. The greatest example is Tejas.

The reason why DRDO and ISRO are so different is because the latter was started by Bhabha and as he was educated both in the West and India, he was much more open to ideas. Also, people feel proud of their achievements and ISRO is traditionally open to ideas and collaborations worldwide, see NISAR. DRDO because of its primary interest on national security may not be open to external collaboration and also from inception has very closed nature. President Murmu inaugurated ICMF for future cryogenic engine production at HAL, so I already feel it could be a bummer but might also work just fine as in spacecraft generally it's much smoother ascent than fighter aircrafts, the engines are a completely different beast because acceleration and deceleration have to be pretty fast per enemy aircraft trajectory etc. Think 10g's Unless India starts paying metallurgists well, create good opportunities for budding fresh out of college metallurgists and/or create conditions that metallurgists will come back to India after their education or training etc, it's going to be much harder to produce engines from scratch. Also, when you show that foreign scientists are plucking their hair because India is becoming successful to gain publicity, it's bad, because many a times foreign scientists actually want India to be successful. Money aside, the F414 deal would never have been possible earlier or NISAR type things.

I always think of this particular topic in my mind and it's good to see someone finally speaking about it. Apart for scientific temperament there are things such as the youth in India nowadays are the least ambitious ones as far as I see. The most they desire is a high paying job in a service sector foreign mnc with prospects of on site transfer in countries abroad. They neither want to pursue higher studies nor the want to go into R&D.
Dude, I agree with you but the problem is nobody would want to devote his life to R & D if it does not pay well. After all everybody has to look after his family, it is easier for developed countries because their average citizen already have good fimancial background.

If we are comparing space missions from India and the US, we should be precise. A mission doesn't entail only launching few satellites into space. What sort of cameras are sent into space? What are their functions? What are all the objectives ? We also need to keep in mind that things in India are cheaper than in the US, for obvious economic reasons. Indeed, the fact that India can send things for cheap will pursue other countries to ask India to carry their payload. Speaking of Indian scientific temperament, indeed there's a problem. But it requires a very deep discussion. Not everything can be blamed on the syllabus/ politics of the day. Most people want to become scientists in pursuit of fame, rather than due to inquisitiveness. I would be very happy if The Deshbhakt actually does a series of well researched episodes on the state of Indian science, both at the teaching level and research. There is much more to science and scientific temperament than ISRO's (marvelous) technological (and scientific) achievements. To be honest, proper scientific development can take place with a 'true' sense of nationalism. These are complex issues but I'm glad that you are always speaking on these topics. Thanks!
According to me, it has to start with more investment in the Primary & higher (specifically IISERs, as their funding has dropped drastically) education sector.
THanks to team ISRO and our beloved P.M to invest in space technology and prioritising it! A country can not grow without a great leader and great minds!
Honestly speaking, there is nothing to be proud of being Indian. I mean what's there to be proud about a nation which has a low gdp per capita, hdi rank of 130, low rank in innovation and competitiveness, high corruption, weak passport, disunity, religious disharmony, brain drain and many other never ending problems. In reality, people will truly feel proud of their country if it gives them economic prosperity and top quality life. Culture, history and all that crap are secondary and don't pay the bills. The overproud Indians who brag all over the internet of being proud of being Indian will dash out of India faster than light if they get a foreign visa. Talking about the army, most people join the army and other govt departments just to make money and get benefits, not out of patriotism.
Excellent. We all know how diverse the interests of Dr Vikram Sarabhai were; it reflected in his family as well where his wife, Mrinalini Sarabhai was a danseuse of world repute and his daughter has multifarious talents and interests and the causes she works for which include 'Respect for all and Taking on the State'. My gratitude to Dr Sarabhai and I doff my hat to the family! Now I come to Science as a domain! The Other day, I got to read that in the US, a large section of the current generation doesn't study science and even go for graduation because, in that society, a Plumber can earn more than many other professions that require a person to be a graduate or need to have studied science. In India, many study science at the school or college level to branch off to professions that don't need hard science and bring in more money; this could be one factor in people not going for pure sciences.
Putting a satellite in space doesn’t just need pure sciences. Lot of engineering goes in making one. But your point is right. Today in India even a govt driver in some states gets 40k but an engineering graduate struggles to get one. And reason for it is not always poor quality as is told to us always. 7th pay commission increased salary for money but the scientists should be paid more than money. Also more money needs to be put for research and it should be incentivised more. Only then will people come here. Also, quality of projects undertaken should be a motivator as this is what will draw more intellectuals. For this more money should be allocated to such quality projects. One more thing we Indians need to understand that things made in India by transfer of technology from some other country are not indegenious as we are told by media and politicians . So Bramos made in India or an Arjun tank made in India or a naval submarine made in India with mostly of the times outdated technology transferred from some other country who wants to make quick money from India should not make us proud and should be discouraged as it is waste of taxpayers money and it limits the capability of our organisations

Instead of criticizing India, we should appreciate every little step we take to make our country better. Also, we should not stop after just one achievement and appreciation. I hope our country will continue to accomplish even greater things in the future. Thank you to youtuber for sharing such a great news with us!
Excellent summary. The low cost of our aerospace achievements is NOT due to any particularly spectacular genius with us. Genius is not a national commodity; it is a quality humans have been designed with and endowed with by our Creator. IN our context, it has to do with extremely low wages for the engineers, etc, and things that we pay for. Same in the medical field though that has increased in the last couple of decades. Furthermore - and I dont want in the least bit to detract from our achievements - it has a lot to do with the fact that massive massive amounts of research have already been published abroad, due to the massive freedoms and caliber and basis on which institutions there were built, from which, via the internet and other means of exchange, we are able to get that knowledge, and dont have to struggle with the foundational research issues, but can focus on the implementation. It is much like we giving a lot of gyan about freedom in India, when our forefathers were the ones who did the fighting and set up the various institutions in place for us to now sit and spout our armchair gyan. Also, Chandrayaan 3 is not going to the south pole of the moon but to the southern region. The planned target is approx at latitude 69 degrees S (when the context is a pole, N or S, the longitude is not specially relevant). If it were the south pole, the number would be much closer to 90 deg S. This said, fabulous launch!! We hope all goes well, and the news in the last week of Aug will be just as fabulous!!
It's really a proud moment for all Indians. Regarding your comments on science and technology and journal publications it should be noted that the research scholars plays a major role in journal publication, irrespective of the country. If you can make a video regarding the research scholars it will be nice. After a long protest we got a minimal fellowship hike but unfortunately no one stood by our side during that protest except Dr. Sashi Tharoor. If you kindly make a detailed video about the condition of research scholars in India it will be great. Thank you Jay Hind
Research in the defense sector usually doesn't get published. He is talking about research in defense and related fields. This research don't get published.
As a research student the reason behind failing of many scientific institutions is also that scientists are underpaid in our country. When India has moved towards capitalism, survival is not as easy as it was a decade ago. While the IT industry being an overpaid industry all other jobs seem underpaid. Hence the best talent of our country does not choose the research field.

I have seen DRDO scientist leaving their jobs and preparing for UPSC, Indian scientist and engineers are not getting the respect they deserve in reality, things are different as we see online, adding on in my personal opinion private research firm are more keen towards doing quality projects, and delivering top notch results. On the other side lack of funding, Sarkari Babu work style, and bureaucratic interference is also a reason of non performance in some Government firms. Lot of factor needs to be taken in consideration !
It’s actually great seeing a lot of young indians taking an interest in the scientific achievements of the country, it’s equally important to develop a temperament in our society rather than an one-off celebration. Then only we can hope the government of takings some progressive steps in the field.
Dear Akash, expected a little more from you. You have compared the budgets of mars missions, but how can you (yes I expect from you) skip other factors like scientific equipments, life time of the mission and travel time! No doubt ISRO has done amazing works in last few decades but if one wants to compare the budgets of two similar kind of missions, then a lot of points must be considered.
India needs lot more reforms in the education sector and provide lot of funds for original research. Students should be wiling to do more PhDs and fundamental research than take up jobs in IT services. And this applies to all disciplines from medical science research to aerospace research . All universities should be encouraged to have top quality PhD programs.

Q. Why Vikram sarabhai was a genius?
Ans. Because he dreamed and executed to take India into 🚀 space.
Think 10g's
Unless India starts paying metallurgists well, create good opportunities for budding fresh out of college metallurgists and/or create conditions that metallurgists will come back to India after their education or training etc, it's going to be much harder to produce engines from scratch.

*On Behalf of Entire Indian Community, I want to thank ISRO for restoring our pride🧡Ram Ram🙏🕉️*

Well said!

When India has moved towards capitalism, survival is not as easy as it was a decade ago. While the IT industry being an overpaid industry all other jobs seem underpaid. Hence the best talent of our country does not choose the research field.
I am preparing for upsc cse and will work for people even i will not get selected.
this video is not only helpful for a responsible citizen but also for a upsc aspirant, would use all the statements and facts in my answer writings.
thank you soo much sir community is forever grateful to you🙏🙏🙏🙏
Bahut _bahut sundar samjhne keliye Thanku So Much Sirji dubhara sunana chahiye 🇮🇳📕🖋️
The fact is ISRO scientists are much much much creative..than Drdo..space is a much challenging..inspirational..clean..area of reasearch..where people are very much interested bcs of unknown things in space..but defence is not so..its only corruption..so no ones interested in defense..its a fact..😢
Yesterday while watching the launch ... I was wondering if we will get a new episode soon ... I think Akash and DB got a strong connection ❤
*On Behalf of Entire Indian Community, I want to thank ISRO for restoring our pride🧡Ram Ram🕉️🇮🇳*

Nehru said isro is not a priority for poor countries like india
But Sarabhai said india is poor That's why we want isro.
Thanku modiji for supporting ISRO with billions of dollars fund
Proud moments for Our country...

Who has come here after the successful landing of Chandyaan 3❤🎉
Excellent and very informative video ISRO# 1 by 2040#
I have seen DRDO scientist leaving their jobs and preparing for UPSC, Indian scientist and engineers are not getting the respect they deserve in reality, things are different as we see online, adding on in my personal opinion private research firm are more keen towards doing quality projects, and delivering top notch results.
Which is great.
Great content! ❤
Everytime when ISRO does something, it's always amazing and proud moment.
Hoping for the best !!!
Touchdown - 23 aug 2023 🤞🤞
Don't try traya, I tested myself twice on the same day and results were different despite same input 😂
SALUTE TO THE TEAM OF SCIENTITS❤❤❤❤❤
YOU ARE THE REAL HERO'S💯💯💯
Love your analysis brother. Really eagerly waiting for your videos🙏🙏

@@bimaltakri8671 ya it did , better roads , less corrupt police , infrastructure, a righ wing party who thinks about hindus ( ya in their own country ) , devlopment of my city ( Pune ) , less crime rate , less terrorist attacks , no unemployment atleast in my family and friends , no more communal violence , and I think that's the opposite what left wing narrative wants
And ya I am not even talking bout international and national growth this is just what I personally though , and I am not a sikular , especially psedo secularism which exists in India where only hindus are supposed to be secular
In india every cell of everyone is extremely talented nd hardworking but we dont have proper opportunities... Nd support ... There r few other things like corruption nd nepotism in Everyfield...

@@sauron2000000 yes i completely disagreed... Becz everyone is born with different talent... But the problem is, people dont allow them to identify it nd also not get much encouragement.... talented people compromise talent over financial security of family.... I can bet u... If every family get basic financial security from government nd job creation acc to their talent nd dream india will become developed nation within few years... Even on top of the world... Becz every developed country has our talented people... As they r providing them financial security with good state of life
