This was a totally unexpected crash that occurred despite being aware of other known causes of Avata crashes such as too fast of a turn in Yaw crashes and controller issues. Hope you enjoy the video, thanks for watching!
DJI replaced the drone with DJI Care Refresh. Then after reviewing the Flight Data, they found a Propulsion Problem, and gave me full refund. DJI AVATA is a really fun drone to fly, but I believe that they can really improve the Flight characteristics with Firmware Updates. In the meantime, I would definitely get the DJI Care Refresh!

DJI reported to me today that this was “a propulsion issue … fault of the drone itselt,” after I requested “Apply for data analysis.” Full Refund. It is possible that all props shut down by accident (cause unknown, but hopefully fixable by software update).

Could it have been the SD card cover getting into the propeller? I don't have an avata and don't know if it's in the same spot as the propeller that's missing, but the SD card cover looked janky in reviews.
I've had the same issue happen twice to me. First time, I brushed a tree (and that may have slightly damaged a prop) and it was still flying but not too long after the prop broke in half and it fell to the ground. I think a tiny fracture in a prop will cause it to snap in half when they're spinning super fast
@@cyberhawk365 I dont have a photo cause I lost the first prop and I just threw the second away but it generally just splits right in the middle(weakest point im guessing)
My DJI Avata has been doing the same thing. It's happened two times now. I have grounded it because I'm scared it's going to get damaged or worse hit something. Hopefully, they can get this fixed soon it's frustrating paying this much money for something and not being able to use it.
That happened to me but I was lucky because I was flying in my house, one of the props failed it had snapped in half for no reason while flying. I didn't hit anything before it failed. I was flying in sports mode on the park the day before maybe it started to fail then. I'm 100% positive that I didn't overwritten the prop screws causing the prop to split. Maybe that's why you had that motor massage on the screen because you lost a prop in flight and you still had the screws on the motor, I think we're going to see more of these props failing maybe the plastic there made from can't stand the high stresses.
Thanks for sharing! Prop breaks are definitely a possibility. Sure would like to know what would cause them to break so easily. In my case the screws were never tightened. Could you post a foto of your broken prop?
I had the exact same thing happen to mine. I was flying in very nice conditions in manual mode and accelerated to clear some trees and it just crashed. I found it and one of the propellers was just gone. Bolts were in place. The prop just exploded or flew off or whatever.
I had the exact same crash, what was strange is that I inspected and cleaned the drone the evening before the crash. (One propeller was missing) it luckily came down on sand area and the drone was fine
You hit the height limit???, Also looks like you lost a prop. your brave for taking that thing up so high. Refresh baby it's worth the insurance. Good luck. Took mine out over water twice now been fine so far.
Good Question. I was being conservative when switching from Sport mode to Manual Mode to get above the tree line. I think it actually flew well around the tall trees well above 100 feet. It can easily fly 1,000 feet when climbing up the side of a mountain. Distance seems more an issue: when further than 1,200 feet it switches to Normal mode from Manual Mode.
exactly the same happened to mine, only I couldn’t find it because of the thick spiky bottom vegetation at my crash site. Asked for fly away coverage, but DJI said it’s not the quality issue of the drone so I have to cover some cost for refreshment despite I have the full DJI care coverage purchased. Yike!😂
@@cyberhawk365 Understand, I have no problem with the cost, only concern about the cause of the crashes, further to the analysis by DJI engineers ‘the pilot press the accelerator and moved the motion remote controller leftward, then the aircraft flipped’ didn’t explain what was really happened, the goggles recording I have submitted clearly displayed the ‘propeller error’ message while the aircraft was in the midair clear of any obstacles. The SD/USB-C port door will cause more issues to other Avatas, let wait and see. BTW, thank you for replying my comment.
There is a weird thing i see, lot of common user had problem, props or fast turns, then there are videos of experienced fpv pilots, that shows avata has no problem at all. Isn't that strange ?

Propeller broke mid flight at the hub. Could be overtightened screws, could be damage from a previous crash, could just be bad plastic props. Best of luck on the repair. It is the right front prop that is missing and the first thing that happened on the video is the right front dropped. Set youtube to slow mot (0.25 speed) and around 0:22 (start at 0:21) pause it and you can see a dark object (presumably a piece of the prop) in the top left of the screen for 1 frame.
Wow, I saw your video! Thanks for sharing! Definitely contact DJI Support! I lost confidence also, but the replacement drone seemed so much more stable that I attached a GoPro 11 Mini on top of it!

Very good question: the Left Rear props where the SD card cover sits was fine, the cover was closed, the problem was the Right front prop.
Glad to see DJI is looking into the cause
Yes, this is a very popular drone. DJI is trying to fix the problem.

The bronze color on the screws is rust from the drone being in water.
Looks like the props descentigrated and made the drone to drop out of the sky.
It’s a real mystery. Hope DJI can figure it out, they now have the drone.
2nd vídeo that happen the same thing, the props broke in the middle of the flight.
Better to check the props before every flight 😫

What made you realize that it was underwater?
The last footage showed drone lost connection within seconds after landing so either battery disconnected or drone underwater!

If the prop screws were loose is this a “defect?” This is why I periodically tighten all screws on the Avata.
The screws were not loose when I tested it both before and after accident.
Интересно. А можно ли, на эти винты супер клей нанести ? Эт на гарантию не повлияет ?

Avata will get firmware updates that will make it much more reliable. Props may need to be recalled if too many fall off while in flight.

Lots of experienced pilots have problems with the Avata.
This happened to me exactly. The right back prop was gone and drone crashed itself😢
