Disabling turbo boost in power options helps a lot with the battery. Especially in silent mode. The CPU is set to aggressive on all modes for some reason
I wish they fix the imput lag on FPS games like valorant with the Armory Crate runing on the background.....its impossible to play with mouse and keyboard games like this
@frankshotta8576 thanks for your comment and happy to help. The channel will be creating more content on handhelds in the coming weeks. Feel welcome to share what you are looking for in new content.
@RhoodyTV thank you for the comment. The channel has not used a capture card for its content so is unable to provide a specific answer on that. If it helps to mention… the screen capture in the video was created using the Bandicam screen recording software. That software has no frame rate limit on what it can capture. Do note though - based on a test with Diablo IV - I did see a 20 frame decrease.
I‘m begging. My command center and Army button does not work. I press the buttons on the side and nothing happens. All the updates are done and I soft restarted my device.
@ororomunroe8218 that is frustrating and I can understand the worry. My initial thoughts are to confirm you are using the latest bios, open armory crate through the desktop and see if after minimizing it you can access it with the buttons (perhaps the software is not starting with the OS properly)… and as a last resort doing a clean image install (would do this really only to rule out a software problem and further confirm a potential hardware related problem). Feel welcome to post back here anything further. I hope the issue gets resolved soon.
@@Gaming_for_insight I got it to work…however, I returned it. The experience was horrible. Honestly my advice is don’t get it. Dealing with Windows on this device was horrible.
I think you are referring to the different operating modes. There isn’t a best mode though there optimal modes for what you are doing. For example, browsing the web on your handheld doesn’t require turbo mode and silent mode would be optimal. At the same time some games work well on Performance mode. You can also create manual operating modes as well to suit your purpose and the channel has a video up on creating these different modes. Stay with the channel for more videos on gaming handhelds.
I am open to video suggestions of course; however, I don’t recommend running this game without the latest supported driver provided through the official ASUS ROG Ally Discord channel in the ally-updates chat area. That link to the driver download is here: dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/IOTHMD/Image/Driver/Graphics/35393/AMD_Graphic_DriverOnly_ROG_AMD_Z_V31.0.21029.6002_35393.exe?model=ROG%20Ally%20(2023). @Loveheralways sorry to read that you are struggling to update your device. That was not the case with the channel’s as I went through the My Asus software and even upon some reboots the bios updated on its own. Are you able to access the bios with holding volume down and then the power button?
@froststarlite5571 thanks for the post. “perf” was what was typed to have the performance options available to select to bring up that window based on what was done for the channel. If you still can’t find it, then let me know and I will share more details on how to find it.
There are some other factors to consider in this circumstance: WiFi versus Ethernet connection, prioritization of the device or the traffic (i.e., QOS), the type of WiFi connection, allotted bandwidth through your service provider, whether there is optimal load balancing at the time of the game download from the service. I recommend reviewing those factors, especially testing a game download with an ethernet connection.
I would ensure that gamepad is selected as the template to use for the game. I would ensure you are using a sufficient TDP - you can try performance mode or turbo mode. I would verify the integrity of the files of the game. I would do a restart of the game and restart Armory Crate (or just restart the device all together).

@@Gaming_for_insight most definitely! Thanks for the video
Late to the party, but still relevant video! Please note everyone that BIOS updates CAN install themselves after the device restarts!

My biggest problem has been video output to a capture card at 120hz while gaming. It seems only certain games have issues. Have you had any problems?

Do you know how to update the graphics drivers? I can't find info anywhere.
@tone5421 I would leverage the My Asus software (installed by default on the OS) for a future AMD graphics driver.
hello, in eco assistant mode what is the best mode? extreme mode or modern standby dz assistant mode?

Hi joe can you make a video on rog ally running starfield graphic driver out of date? This issue is really driving me nuts, the game keep crashing

My problem was when i tried to update my bios, it gets stuck on ROG logo. That’s why I can’t update. Every time i restart it happens.

@@Gaming_for_insight yes i can. Can i change something there so it doesn’t get stuck in the ROG logo when rebooting?
Just an FYI if I go to type in performance in the search menu you cannot find that LOL
