The biggest problem for Rick is he was sooooooooo ANTI LIV at the jump and NOTHING has changed except he got paid to change his views
In fairness, he wasn't anti liv, he just wasn't a fan of the product. He didn't bash any of the players for going or make a fuss of the Saudi aspect.
Money talks. And to say anyone else here wouldn't make the same choice is a liar. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
He wasn’t “anti-LIV.” He was critical of it and what they were trying to do…that’s way different than the Rory McIlroy anti LIV stance…
As you know, putting out competitive content on YT is a grind…no doubt he knew he was going to lose subscribers…I’m sure he baked that into the calculation of what he was hoping to get from LIV. Those saying he’s been “bought” are just not realists…trying to make money on YT requires either pushing products, or trying to get people to constantly click on your product, which sometimes requiring coming up with titles that bring in eyeballs, whether or not they are actually accurate.
Or maybe now he gets easy access to Cam, Bryson, Brooks, Rahm + +
For all you negative hypocrites commenting, please read on. If you are planning to unsubscribe to Rick's channel, you must also unlink yourself from the following PIF investments:
never use Facebook;
never use Uber;
never put gas/ petrol in your car;
never go to Disneyland;
never fly on a Boeing plane;
never play Nintendo;
never watch Newcastle games;
never use Citigroup or Bank of America;
never watch the PGA Tour...
As for other negative comments:
You do realize, right, that you get all this for free on RUclips? You've loved Rick's content and you haven't had to pay for a single thing. It's free entertainment.
And it's entertainment. Rick's channel is very good but maybe needed a reboot. This is a great reboot.
It's also a business. Of course he's getting paid. RUclips is HARD WORK; he's not just playing golf for fun.
"Ooh, he changed his mind." Rick (and especially Guy) were never really sold on LIV early on, but they didn't jump on the "blood money" bandwagon and rubbish it entirely. But Rick's not the only one to "change his mind." How about Rory McIlroy? And, let's not forget, the PGA Tour itself. You're allowed to take a different position on topics at any given moment. Anyone unbiased who has watched LIV tournaments knows how exciting they have been.
Which of you would have turned down LIV's offer if you were Rick? That's right: No one.
He's signed a contract that will set him for life don't think he's worried about subs lol
subscribers have very little actual value any ways just ask any youtuber that now has a patreon to help pay the bills
You may be correct.
Not if his channel tanks
@@BrianOSullivan-tb3if He lost 0.3% of his subscribers. I think he'll be fine lol
@@BrianOSullivan-tb3if I'm pretty sure he's getting a guaranteed paycheck from LIV regardless of the revenue his channel generates. Just look at all the players LIV signed who's golf performance tanked -- they're still getting paid.
Awkward for Guy especially after he called LIV "trash" and got in a Twitter row with Lee Westwood. Let the hypocrisy commence!
Is it the end of Guy ? Would Rick shut him out to get the deal?
@MySpike64 not according to Rick's recent podcast. He did get some grief off a couple of LIV players when they went over recently.
Guy was much more anti liv then Rick to be fair. I'm not a big fan of either but i will watch more now that they will be at every liv event
0.3% of total subs really says it all. Even if he loses 4-5% he’ll recover and get bigger.
For the 10k subscribers he lost I’m sure Rick is making a few mil. Worth it
The access and exposure he will get in Adalaide will make up any losses many times over . He will also get exposure on Fox now
Not to mention Google doesn't pay based on subs. They pay based on views. Even with losing 10k subs his views are still up.
Yep
Lots of LIV loving millennials will make up that fan base. Rick took the money and frankly who can blame him. Call it a pension plan. Can't do YT forever.
I liked Rick, still like Rick. Its time to stop pitting the fans and players at odds. We are fans. I like all Golf. Stop trying to get me to pick sides. Its orchestrated anger. I choose not to play.
The issues around LIV are bigger than Golf.
This new partnership for Rick is a way for him to get the sponsorship money that the other channels are getting through club deals while allowing him to still be an independent club reviewer. I'm looking forward to seeing what this opens up for him.
Honest and independent my arse. He obviously lied to us when he said he didn't like LIV, so honest is out the window. And when the big money guy comes knocking because he thrash talked a brand they like, we'll see if "independent" is still in the neighborhood.
Thanks for this piece Matt. Very balanced and informative. Probably some of your best content thus far.
Rick was snubbed last year for a Creator event, can't remember which one it was but he commented on his Podcast that even though he wouldn't have been able to make the event, he was not invited and I bet that stung him a bit. He was dead right to go and join LIV regardless though. It makes good business sense and his views will not suffer in the long run.
I think you're right Matt, he's playing chess here.
Good for Rick, he's pivoting and he's about to release some monsters this year on his channel and I can't wait to watch them.
Righto
He's kind of a cornball brit....crying about this duck hook and that slice....guy can't play most days.
@@5IveNDlme why not challenge him then
The PGA tour messed up for sure
Ricks massive ego was bruised so he signed with LIV. Signed with a product he has been bashing for 2 years so I have zero respect for him. LIV hasn't changed anything so why would his opinion change? Any positive comments he has about LIV moving forward will always have a question mark about it's authenticity!
I’m so glad it’s not Grant.
I have no idea why PGA hasn’t snagged Grant to be a course commentator/ambassador. He’d be amazing interviewing players, fans, previewing the course, playing practice rounds with competitors on Tuesdays, Pro-Ams….
PGA is dumb not to embrace RUclips community.
pga commentator..that would be a major step down in viewership. Hes just partnered with Phil Mickleson...Grant takes Liv money, obviously. They don't do that for free.
Grant is LIV. Partners with Phil
Just because Grant collaborated with Phil doesn't mean he's Liv, he's also done plenty of content with team TM.
You think Grant has not a deal? All of a sudden he is Mickelsons bag man playing DJ??
Rick trashed talked Liv ,now he's in bed with them...Rick sold out his subscribers....hated Liv...now he's with them...idiot
Im happy for him. I have been following Rick for years. He makes great content and is honest. He is not afraid to try things.
Well he's done being honest now
@@BrickKindFantananot being honest would be taking money from Liv and not disclosing it.
Honest and a hypocrite
We love Peter Finch
Not even considering how much money they are paying him because we don't know, this makes sense for both sides. LIV struggles for traditional viewership so they get Rick to release videos right before their events start which will showcase the course and drive interest in their event. No risk for LIV in this at all. Rick gets access to some great players and content concepts, making his job on RUclips easier. It sounds like Rick has figured out how to make LIV his booking agent for the talent that comes on the channel.
Edit/Add: I went back and watched some of his podcasts when they discussed LIV. He never trashed any players or discussed where the money was coming from. His "anti-LIV" stance was basically that it wasn't anything different than Waste Management but that doesn't work if it is every event.
It's means nothing 10k 20k 100k that's nothing compared to what he's being paid. Rick made the right decision don't let the media tell you what to like and not like.
It's a bold move, but Rick is the OG and he's always been ahead of the curve. YT golf has been going stale, everyone doing the same vids. Rick's breaking new ground and hopefully he'll get something different and exciting .
How about a video on how the TGL ratings dropped 30% last week and how boring it is
TGL is really boring. After you’ve watched it once then it’s done. Has one more year max before it disappears
@ Absolutely. It’s the same thing every week. A cheap video game. It doesn’t show the pros skills. A 20 handicap could do this crap
I can't believe how bad TGL is. Only in America.
Yes TGL is trash.
@@jonstacey83But if some government like the Saudi Government propped it up despite losing money that would be ok according to anyone who defends LIV for doing exactly that.
As a business decision it's a no brainer. Biggest YT channel but growth and momentum is slowing down. You get multi-generational wealth and can "slow down" with content as you age. People forget Rick has a family. Obviously the public perception takes a big hit, but that's something he will have to live with.
No it doesnt. It takes a big hit from who? The diehard PGA fans that are mostly old dudes and probably don't watch to begin with? Oh no, not that relatively small group of people compared to the vast majority that watch his channel to begin with who couldnt give less of a shit about LIV/PGA crap bc they might watch a major or two a year and never watch normal pga or liv events. They're an incredibly small and shrinking minority that are just loud.
@@DGRRvideos I'm an old dude and whilst I'm not a fan of the Liv product, I don't have a problem with it or the players that signed. PGA thought they had the golf world sewed up but didn't. I get all my golf content from RUclips now as the PGA product is no longer entertaining
his duck hooks are speeding up.
People are saying Rick was anti-Liv. I didn’t get that sense at all. He was critical of the teams a little but he went to multiple events and said he loved it.
I unsubscribed from him immediately
Me too
Rick is out
I hate watching PGA in Norway, the 25% of "down time" or commercial brake is just showing the leader board. Boing as hell.
PGA Tour television coverage has become borderline unwatchable with the amounts of commercial breaks and constant picture-in-picture "Play-through" ads pushing the golf to a small silent corner of the screen. I tuned in yesterday to see Wesley when he was T4...leaderboard full of relative unknown players to the casual viewer...and got nothing.
It will be hilarious watching LIV treat Rick like an advertising whore
similar to the way the big brands already treat him ;}
Well that's what they bought. His sub count to whore out Saudi Arabia.
Remember what the consequences are of saying even one negative word about the royal family. Rick will be their little bubbly yes man toy.
@@tomsanger5548 he’s not in Saudi Arabia… so the consequence is losing his partnership. Same as any other partner
If you respond negatively to me I will have the Saudi’s take care of you
I'd be an advertising whore in a second for to be set for life. This isn't a loss for him, lol.
He’s no spring chicken and many other RUclips golfers are younger and fresher. He’s a family man, so he did the right thing for HIM. LIV gains nothing as Rick’s not so magnanimous that viewers will flock in droves to watch the product. Peoples minds are made up on LIV. Rick isn’t a needle mover nor is LIV-perfect marriage.
If an employer offers better wages than what my current employer is AND it benefits me and my family, there is no question I will take it. anyone will take it!
Not if the employer is also a torturer.
Bingo!
And if your new employer engages in torture how does that impact your decision?
@@glennwatson3313 Your hypocrisy is only outdone by your faux outrage.
@ I see you avoided the question by resorting to name calling.
Well spoken and brings up some very valid points on both sides of the deal. People are always very quick to judge and comment, and be seen to be making a statement by saying all the goodbyes and farewells, but as you said they may unsubscribe, or may not, but still sneakily watch the video to see what’s it’s about.
He'll be fine. The DP World Tour and PGA Tour were offering him exactly zero Euros/Dollars. None of us lives in his house and gets to decide what he does for his paycheck.
Thats not the point. Hypocrites need to be outed for their hypocrisy. He denigrated and hated on LIV from its inception. Even last season he was still denigrating it.
All of those views will now change.
For me it was about not being able to reconcile Rick’s position on LIV all along and this change now. For me it reveals that he doesn’t have a back bone and that a price for a position change was there from the beginning.
As others are saying, drop in subscribers are the least of his worries.
Losing 10K subscribers is nothing. Good luck to the guy, he's worked hard and deserves every penny he's going to get paid.
Especially if Rick got a LIV style payday. People that enjoy Rick will stick with him.
Subscriber count, views, viewing minutes, etc., all indicate how much revenue is generated from RUclips. Rick no longer cares about that as he has a bigger guaranteed paycheck from LIV. Just look at LIV players like Branden Grace, Pat Perez, Hudson Swafford, Lee Westwood, and others. They didn't care about breaking 80 when their paycheck was no longer tied to their golf performance.
The biggest issue is the hippocrasy of how he talked about it. Said it was a boring product and really complained about how pro golf became all about money. Meanwhile he goes to the league that turned golf into a money game. If it ends up being a LIV propaganda channel it will not go well
PGA boys need to quit worrying about LIV golf. Competition is a good thing. I shoe horses for a living and competition will keep you honest and focused. I can’t waste time and energy worrying about what someone else is doing, I have to focus on what I’m doing.
They’ll all come back, and will keep watching either way.. it isn’t going to phase him.
They won't.
Not all
It doesn't matter if they don't come back.
A balanced and thoughtful piece Matt. Suspect they did try to sign Grant, he's made comments about "big news" and wonder if it just didn't complete. Not surprised that Rick did this, I sensed he was unsettled and looking for a change in direction to develop new content. Given how fractured golf is, this could be a great move for him
Subscriber for 12 years, loved his content.
Out since yesterday.
LIV ist the reason why we could not see the best players in the world compete against each other anymore..
The PGA Tour is the reason we don't see the best compete against each other. The PGA Tour will not allow other players to play. And their refusal to change was why guys went to LIV to start with.
Jay Monahan has the bulk of the blame for this current situation.
@@Geo-v6n guys went to LIV for money lol
@ Yes, because, at least in part, the PGA Tour was seen as not treating the players equitably and appeals for change were rejected. And the Tour's changes in recent years seem to indicate that.
But the fact is that the PGA Tour could let the LIV players play if they wanted. And that would put the best players in the world back together. LIV isn't stopping it. The PGA Tour is.
Not true, they could all go to LIV
PGA tour is the problem, LIV is a solution.
Always a fan of your point of view and your preparation of information given.
Much more exciting for Rick. Playing all the awesome courses with competition set up. Not to mention playing with great players. Rick is an independent thinker, not a sheep, blazing a trail. He is receiving all the jealous bashing the LIV players themselves received. He is weeding out his followers which is a good thing.
It’s a no brainier decision for Rick, makes total sense and anyone who is salty needs a reality check.
Two truths. Rick will definitely loose subscribers and he definitely got bought. He certainly calculated the financial risk. The reward had to be higher than the risk. He was starting to fall off in RUclips as others are gaining momentum. LIV is definitely making a move into RUclips. I would bet that LIV is subsidizing the RUclips channels of active LIV players behind the scene.
Im super pumped for the content he has planned! Sounds like some banger videos coming up
Some of my favorite content lately has been videos featuring liv players. John Rahm became one of my favorite guys since his video with Grant and Bryan bros. RUclips made me go from a Bryson hater to a Bryson fan and hes a liv guy. Still don't like Phil, but damn is his short game amazing
I think this is a big W for Rick.
Liv is doing what the PGA should do. Their golfers are getting involved in YT golf to connect with the fans and Rick is their pathway to that.
LIV is only golf we watch. PGA is so boring. And that new simulator golf is extremely boring. Hopefully LIV gets bigger and bigger. Great video!
It's not showfriends it's showbusniss , Rick worked hard all the years an earned his bag ...
Word.
He has just set family & himself up for life. Everyone can be as passed as they want but he has done the right move for him. If you were offered ($5 million) I'm sure you would take it for a stress free future
Not a fan but good for him.
So, it's OK to take money from terrorists to aid in their whitewashing if that set up your family finances.
How about consorting with a rapist, or drug dealer, or a corporate lobbyist? Is your family finances worth the lives those people took away?

None of this content is earth shattering just ppl who have the gift of gab😅
I wouldn't say Rick has that. He was just first out of the box.
@thecelt6929 I watched the beer a hole drunk fest I think on good good I was suprised Rick was the funniest and most entertaining. But sober meh.
I don't get the LIV hate. It just comes off as really cringe.
I think Rick will have some solid content coming, I'm really looking forward to it. LIV got me back into watching Golf.
I get that it will change his channel a lot, but it won't be as much of a disappointing change as when he stopped doing sausage roll reviews. Huge loss.
If you dont understand the hate, maybe you should listen to the Rick Sheils podcast, it was there even last season. Criticism, school-boy snickering, etc. Id bet dollars to donuts he removes those episodes.
I think it is great. When the merge happens, he is positioned in a good spot.
Good on Rick. He's come from being a young instructor at his local range after leaving college, to where he is now. I have no problem with this and will still watch his great shows.
Wes Bryan was T5? Today?
Not on CBS once. Oh but Jimmy at +7 chipping to 4'? Yup
He was actually T4 for a bit. Zero coverage.

The problem I have is people look at Rick and assume it’s just Rick and a camera. RICK SHIELS IS A BUSINESS. and as a BUSINESS this was an amazing opportunity and will produce fruitfully. Just enjoy the content. I’m happy for him
its all just golf; watch it or don't TGL doesn't look very attractive for now but its early and needs to be refined. LIV is a fun option for golf fans lets just enjoy the plethora of choices we have.
Yeah. I’d rather watch LIV, but I’m not upset that TGL exists or if someone else loves it.
Was trying to find you Wednesday at the PGA show one of the guys I was with saw you. Looked for hours couldn’t find you 😂😂. Love the content and I don’t know how you don’t get more views you keep it real on everything big golf related

Luke Kwon, Taco,Sam,Luke,Harry the best 👌
Rick kind of has the personality of a cardboard box
Yes. Content with creators who arent boring and dont get angry every time they dont hit it perfectly which is 50% of the time he hits the ball.
Its not even the funny kind of angry, like a Joey Cold Cuts from BDS, and Im not a huge fan of those guys, but they are much better personalities than Rick.

Great podcast and view points. Was a great listen 🙏🏻
Never understood why people cry about loyalty to a company who's done nothing for them personally except to show golf on TV. There was discontent in the PGA Tour back in the 90's at least that's when I heard of it, could be longer. If you keep your players under your thumb for too long shits gonna happen, and it did and it's called LIV. So all the cry babies pull up your panties and move on!! No its not the end of Rick he'll be around for a long time.
There was discontent for LIV on the Rick Sheils podcast, even LAST season.
That discontent was rewarded with a contract. Why?
It's hypocritical because of what he's said about LIV in the past, but a smart move on his part. RUclips golf will be over saturated soon enough, especially if PGA pros start channels. This gives Rick security financially. It gives him exposure to a different base and allows him to travel on LIV's dime. Smart move.
He will gain subs in the long run. The content will be next level. Great move by Rick
Change is always difficult. Rick is doing a great job with his content.
I think Rick was considered a man of the people and now going to LIV? No longer a man of the people.
RS started RUclips golf and set up everyone regarding online reviews, coaching etc. Now he is taking the leap to Liv and everyone else is still focused on RUclips. He probably got a lot of resistance back in the day when he started RUclips. I wish him all the best!
If the content is still good, I am definitely going to keep watching Rick.
He’s sorted for life. Good luck to him
It’s a great move. As we’ve learned the negativity will pass and the content he will be creating will be well worth it to the fans, to LIV and golf at large. No brainer, slam dunk.
I unsubscribed to Rick over a year ago because I couldn’t listen to him any longer. Love LIV, hate this announcement.
I am 100% with you. He has a terrible attitude on the course and he was nothing but a negative Nancy towards LIV. Even last year he was heavily criticizing LIV.
Its funny what a paycheck can do to an opinion.
PGAT could have partnered with RS, but they are stuck in the past.
This is the worst move LIV has made IMO
In the words of the great philosopher Cyndi Lauper, *Money Changes Everything*
Content is king. He will double the subs with all the access to some of the best players.
Not sure he will
Rick Shiels is one of the biggest names in golf, pro or RUclips. His videos won’t change but now he gets to work first hand with some of the best players in the world that aren’t playing every week. It’s great for the game and helps us work toward getting all the biggest names back together again. And for those that are hating I would like to see how you guys react when a check with 6,7,8 zeros is in front of you… good for Rick
He signed a club deal for a year or two and realized it hindered what he did so he pivoted back to what he was before the contract. I’m sure this will be the same, try something new and if it doesn’t work he will go back to what he knows. Can’t hate on someone trying new things to grow the game while bettering themselves!
Im happy for Rick. LIV is a great watch too. More golf being played means more golf for me to watch.
This podcast had zero edits so I know you researched it and are on top of this
RUclips golf as it stands is getting boring everyone is doing the same thing scrambles, break 65 etc. etc. Rick was (and is) the innovator of so much of these formats he sees it’s getting boring so he is getting out of the crowd and going to the next level… the content is going to be insane👍🏻
Not really. The main reason he got big was because he was first out of the box. He's not actually intersting to listen to.
Honestly his tutorial videos are ok at times, and the courses he plays on are amazing, but his playing videos just are kinda boring and are mostly watching him shank shots and say "Oh Rick"
You know what I would love? If pga now wakes up, and does the same together with european tour with Peter, Fryer, Carter and some others. Doing content together, doing some kind of league
I’m one of the 10,000 . Plenty of golf content already . No big loss.
Don’t see the value for LIV . Rick doesn’t have the influence he used to. I understand LIV getting more involved with the RUclips market, but Rick’s not the guy.
Who is the best guy now?
It seems like a bad pairing. Rick seems like more of a Tour guy. He was never positive on LIV on his podcast and often snickered and laughed at Guys rants.
Im not a fan of who LIV is hiring as their on-air personalities, they are old Brits who, save for Flaherty, are boring AF.
I’ve been sitting here watching the PGA tour snub Wesley Bryan with no TV coverage even though he was top 5 today. I’ve never watched LIV, but seems they get it! I’ll be checking out this new content.
Rick had already pissed me off when he said there were too many golf creators. I’ve been a foot out the door since then and only watched other people’s collabs with him.
Sure will continue following him……..as long as the content interests me. Why stop watching Rick’s channel? Did PGA or LIV give subscribers a share?
Rick is fantastic, what he has built and continues to build is phenomenal.
Me & my youngest child love his content & its what got my son in to golf.
Also Rick is the original content creator and pathed the way for the rest.
They’ll come back when the content starts coming out, I’m personally excited for it!
You would have to listen to his voice though?
Content? 95%+ of the LIV lineup is guys who you have never heard of and/or don't move the needle.
Great video Grant Phil v Dustin Austin, really really good
The reason why viewers will jump ship is because of the ethical considerations of LIV and regime that backs it.
I'm not interested in whether this works out commercially for him or not. I have no interest in helping anyone get rich who can hold his nose this much.
Let me say this as a German/European, if "because of the ethical considerations" would be the baseline, I should stop watching NFL, PGA, NBA ... in fact any American sport league.
@-tameike- there is a step difference between a state that denies basic human rights and independent companies operating within the US.
The connection to state funding is direct thru LIV.
Stop it dude America was forced to give certain groups of people basic human rights within our lifetime. Don't cherry pick your outrage . I cant believe you really said that. Wow hilarious 😂@elgar104
@@-tameike- brother the NFL isn’t ran by our government
@@SirKnov-ph4yj I am well aware ;-) Companies are just buying themselves the government they like. Let me be clear. Do I think the Saudi government is a democratic one? Hell no. As long as they stick to rules in the countries they want to do business in/with, they should do whatever investment they like. Golf is not critical infrastructure. It is just a sport for entertainment. So called developed countries should maybe clean their houses first, before lecturing others. That is including my own one, Germany.
Actually I must congratulate the PGA for setting up a world class trash campaign on LIV - and even got players to be part of it. Let's face it. Right now Golf in the US is the biggest market in the world. But does anybody believes that will be the case in 10-20 year still. Look at the demographics. Global Golf will be way bigger in the future than just the US - it will be a local event. That's what LIV is going for. Long term global investment. A very smart one. Spending a couple of billions on setting up LIV is this a big thing? No, it is pocket money. And funnily a good portion was even paid by US golfers by needing that sweet crude oil from Saudi Arabia for their V8 trucks in the past;-) PGA was trying to kill it. They had some short term success slowing it down, but long term PGA is just a fish in the pond. Imaging some large investment from Indian or Chinese companies into LIV in the future. What do you think where the sponsoring money will go to long term? Made in America cotton golf trousers from Virginia but not feed those fat price money at the FedEx cup LOL
He won't give a shit,,he has money beyond his dreams 🏴
Rick never hated on LIV. He just gave his honest opinion good and bad. Rick’s nerdy right hand guy who I can’t even remember his name is the one that hated on LIV every chance he had. I wish Rick would fire him and get someone else to do the podcast. Guy is such a Rick/golfer want-a-be!!
But its the Rick Shiels podcast where those views were made. Guy was simply repeating the views Rick wanted to make. Rick often agreed, or had school-boy like snickering responses to Guys criticisms.
For me it's not about his previous criticism of LIV, nor is it about this being simply a business decision and his right to make money. For me it's about where that money came from. It came from a man and a regime that backed terrorists, had a journalist critical of him murdered, and with a horrendous human rights record. So tes, Rick has a right to his business decision, just as I have a right to no longer support his channel as well as any channel featuring the likes of DeChambeau, Mickelson and sny other golfer who took the Saudi's sportswashing money.
Totally agree
I won't watch his channels again. I'm a bit meh about his content anyway so no big loss. Keep up the good work Matt 💪
Well, now Rick is an LIV mouthpiece. Know that when he speaks. I like Rick.
I have enjoyed Rick’s videos for years, but unfortunately this was a dealbreaker. I wish him the best, but I can’t get behind the money grab and what LIV stands for. I unsubscribed right away.
So I assume you buy nothing from Ch*na then, right? Ch*na is by far a worse state actor than Saudi Arabia, and much more dangerous. (See: COVID)
Rick was against Liv in the beginning. I believe he purchased a full event ticket out of his own pocket so that he could honestly rate Liv as a golf event overall. He has a video on his channel telling the outcome. Rick said that he had a great time and the experience was eye opening. One of his negatives was he wasn’t sure what he thought about the team aspect. Second negative was the tournament being only 3 days long with no cutline. He didn’t seem to like the shotgun start style either.
Overall though he never spoke bad about his weekend or the quality of the golf. I think he also gave a rating 1-10 on each area. Golf,Hospitality,Spectator involvement and so on. I believe his results were fair from a golfer who comes from the “old school” He also felt that Liv was here to stay and that the tour itself would grow.
I personally can’t wait for Liv to start…Hands down I take Liv and the team concept right along with playing in shorts over any PGA non major event.
Rick imo did the right choice for his family and his future! Go Rick💥💥💥✌️👍
So hes upset at everything that made LIV different then the PGA. SMH.
You need to watch his podcast. Nothing but negative comments and criticism of LIV.
LIV is way better watch than the new TGL league, good on Rick for going just a bit of a change from his first LIV golf opinion.
Comparing LIV to TGL is just stupid
I mean, his integrity has taken a hit. But, with all the content coming up with some amazing guests and courses, he really has no competition anymore.
The only thing Rick lost was 10k crybabies that are afraid to leave their safe space.
I'm guessing Rick checked with the PGA to see what he could get from them in terms of personalities, etc., before signing with LIV. He's a smart man, and probably made the best business decision for himself and his people.
The R.S. team had to anticipate an initial drop in subscribers. However, once the planned content starts to be created with big names week after week and the different formats, I would expect a stronger appeal to the younger demographic and those utilizing RUclips for their regular golfing entertainment. I'd expect his subscription rate to be more inline with the growth we're seeing from GoodGood and G.H.... This will be good for R.S. in the end without question!
Not watching
I agree with you.
Im a LIV fan. Im dismayed to see such a curmudgeonly hater be rewarded by a product they did nothing but criticize.
@ interesting. I don’t hear many LIV fans who take this side. Thanks for sharing.
People who are against this probably think TGL is amazing
lol I doubt that.
@GolfQuestChannel do you like the TGL?
@ I’ve only seen highlights. As a sim user I was intrigued by the idea and tech but no I can’t say I like it.
@GolfQuestChannel welp, guess you proved me wrong then
Great video! Well done 🏌️♂️💥⛳️
Just walked in the door from Orlando, here in Arizona. He’s just doing the same thing every RUclipsr is doing. Bought and paid for by the highest bidder.💰💰💰
And that is different from any other employee in any industry?
@@angelam6902 Usually, employees dont get a job by criticizing the industry/business they are criticizing.
Being For Sale to the highest bidder isnt a good character trait.
Oh, and Im a huge fan of LIV, but Im not paid to have that opinion, like Shiels.
@@jessev5761 Haha if you had multiple job opportunities that are equal except for the pay you would take the highest offer.
Good for Rick, and I look forward to seeing more of his content. I'm proud of him. I enjoy watching LIV.
I for one am happy for Rick.
I love that RUclips golf is getting better with the help of Liv players.
I am not into Liv or the PGA, i am into youtube golf.
Now he’s at 2.91, 10k sounds like a lot but that’s not even one percent. He’s probably set for the rest of his life. Good for him.
I didn’t realise I was a subscriber. I’m a LIV Golf fan for life. Just got back from Florida: RangeGoats flew me 1st class and I played 18 w/ Matt Wolff & Peter Uihline at a fancy private club. Dechambeau Daley Roary & others were there filming content. So am still walking on Air. LIV just signed FOX deal so more eyeballs this year. PGA seems to be going in the wrong direction vs LIV more upbeat imo. Influencers obviously love the game but are business people so good for Rick.
