For the second sim card, it seems my Note 12 Pro has a somewhat different layout, since it can also be used for memory card slot. So you have to put it horizontally, on the top part of it, in the second sim card slot. To clarify again, if the first sim card is put vertically on center, then the second sim card needs to be put horizontally, on top. I hope this helps.

It was the first time I inserted a SIM card upside down with the connections. Does dual SIM mean that you can have two different phone numbers on the same phone
Try pushing the sim tray against a solid object or just push it really hard - it works for me. At first, I tried to open it gently cause I'm scared if I try too hard, it'll break the sim tray, but it just won't open. So, I pushed it against my bed and it finally opened.
