Splendid video. Exhaustive and with properly-spoken english too. Thanks!

    Great explanation.
However, a question: When preparing your geometry, did you cut the blade areas from the rotating zone, or are the blades still there as surfaces? I am asking this because in a simliar 3D modelling, I am not sure if I should boolean (cut out) the blade volumes from the rotating zone. Thank you

you should still do the boolean for 3D object when you do a CFD. Say this example becomes a 3D model, you will still rotate the fan blade walls in the "wall" tab. Remember, once the boolean is done, the solid part is cut, you are left with the fluid side walls of the blades.

Hey, Thanks for the RUclips! I am a CFD beginner. I wonder in 1020-10:40, is the velocity relative to the rational blade or absolute? How can I display vectors in different reference frame?

hello. I have a centrifugal pump which was created in solidworks. It consist of volute and impeller which is located inside the pump. How can you prepare this model in advance of the analysis? my second question is that do I have to the follow those steps that you did?

    Hi,
I have a rotating cylinder geometry, with the outside walls of the cilynder made of titanium (solid volume) and inside it's full of water.
I would like now to make rotate both the solid volume and the inner liquid volume.
But I cannot manage to make the titanium volume to rotate, even if I put a rotational velocity in the frame motion option of the solide volume.
Also in the boundary conditions "wall" of the solid volume I cannot activate the option "moving wall", so it can only be "stationary wall".
Concerning the liquid volume I don t activate frame motion but I only set a "moving wall" option in the b.c. with a rotating velocity.
But the result is that the liquid volume inside rotates while the titanium walls don't move.
Do you know how to solve this problem?
    Thank you,
    P

i may be wrong but wont solid volume mean that the entire domain is solid. how can wall move then?
