the beauty is from the source material and the naad of the shabad not necessaryily the overlaying of western music . It is life-changingly powerful in it own right.

Waheguru ji, its purely beautiful. Tears filled in despite the fact that of not being able to completely understand the lyrics (as am still in the learning process). Indeed, the purity in praising the lords through singing can touch any soul.

But a request please remember that these words are from the guru himself. No matter how modern we think we are, we must not forget the mariada while reciting the words of guru.. covering our heads while reciting, it shows respect towards our gurus, it is not about our backwardness or narrow thinking.

@@albertzabala7196 covering one's head doesnot mean wearing a burkha,i.e.a veil covering one's entire face.A person has just got to keep a piece of cloth,typically called chunni in Punjabi on one's head.Paloma has done this,several times while recting gurbani.It is an ethic followed in Sikhism while visiting a Gurudwara or reciting gurbani.irrespective of gender.Sikhism is one of a few religions which talked about gender equality to an extent that we have unisex names,with only a Singh or Kaur as suffix differentiating between the two.God Bless.
