Had some kids shoplift at my first job. My boss told them he wasnt going to call the cops, just their parents. One kid yelled "noooooooo!" Through the tears
I'm a manager for a retail store. Had a 16 y/o girl try and steal a $20 pair of shorts, rather than call the cops I asked "which of your parents is gonna take it better, mom or dad?" "Dad" was the response she gave and I said "perfect, what's your mom's name and number?" IMMEDIATELY breaks down in tears, begging to have the cops called instead. I was baffled.
I was a 3rd grade teacher in 1987 and had a boy in my class say something fresh to one of my girls. I spoke to his mom that night, and I told her that, certainly, the punishment was up to her, but, if it were my son, he would be calling that little girl’s daddy to apologize for speaking to his little girl that way. Mom thought it was brilliant and had him do exactly that. Never had anything out of his mouth … or any other boy’s mouth … the remainder of that year. I taught for 35 years, eventually moved to ALG I in high school, and warned the boys at the beginning of the year that that would be my recommended punishment if I had to call home about an inappropriate remark made to one of the girls. NEVER had it happen again.
I’m always happy to see grown guys out running kids. No really. They think they are faster. A teen kid tried to bully me when I was 35 out mowing my lawn. I caught him about as fast as this video. He was pretty surprised.
Agreed. I once was helping my brother (40-ish at the time) with a yard project and a punk-ass neighborhood kid kept riding a mini-bike back and forth, just making a racket. My bro glared at the kid but said nothing, it's a free country after all, but the kid got mouthy about it. What the kid didn't know is my brother had been a college track star, so when he dashed after the kid, bro caught up and dope-slapped the helmet. The absolute terror of watching a grown man close the distance while the mini-bike tried to accelerate is still something we laugh about today.
